### 2/5 — Intervals

*2021-01-23*

You need to ask about intervals with notation cards

### 4/5 — Pretty helpful

*2020-08-07, version 3.20180228*

Useful app with different categories to help you improve in multiple areas. I find the ear training section most useful as I am far from pitch perfect. You do have to pay for unlimited access but there are hundreds of free cards.

### 3/5 — Company is a little hard to work with

*2020-05-30*

Issue with unlocking more flash cards resolved

### 2/5 — Nice, but not worth paying for.

*2019-09-17*

Need I say more?

### 2/5 — Makes you create an account...

*2019-06-03*

...before you even see the app. I never log into anything using Facebook for security reasons and I’m not giving them my email address, again, before even seeing the app. Deleted.

### 2/5 — Annoying

*2018-04-03, version 3.20180228*

Just writing the review so i dont get interrupted anymore

### 2/5 — Waste of time unless you pay

*2017-07-28*

Used to be good when it was nice and simple. Now you need a connection to log on and only have access to 2 decks unless you want to pay 5 dollars.

### 1/5 — Brain scape

*2017-04-30, version 2.20160811*

Crock of beans!!!
Big tease with hardly
anything you can use w/o
coughing up the "Unlock features " Tons of free theory material all over the net and YouTube.

### 1/5 — Too simple

*2017-03-06, version 2.20160811*

The first exercises are too simple and you have to pay to unlock all

### 3/5 — Comprehensive app

*2016-10-18, version 2.20160811*

It's a good app to learn music theory and covers many topics like notation, rhythm, symbols, pitch etc... My only complaint is that there are no lessons, it is all flash card tests which you learn by your mistakes or sometimes your best guesses.

### 1/5 — Lies!

*2016-09-02*

It's not really free! The cake is a lie!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not free - Not Working

*2023-01-19*

If an app is good, I don’t mind paying for it - and maybe this app used to be good, but it hasn’t been updated in several years and see all know how often the OS is updated, many times with breaking changes. Currently, flash cards aren’t being displayed. I’m getting a blank screen. No bueno.

### 1/5 — Cards

*2022-10-17*

There is no place to type an answer in unless you count flipping the card.
Where is the txt box for the user to type r

### 1/5 — Requires you to create an account

*2021-07-15, version 3.20180228*

Too bad this app 2amts me to create an account (or use FB).

I'm not setting up account left and right just to use apps, especially when they expect me to pay for the full version.

Any real reason we need to create an account?

### 1/5 — Personal info warning

*2019-11-09*

I shouldn’t have to give a email just to try out the app which usually means your going to give away my information.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2019-09-02*

Downloaded the app. No sound. Nothing happens when I click on any of the buttons. Using an iPhone 7.

### 1/5 — I really wanted to like this

*2019-05-18*

Lots of pop ups for other ads. There’s a “real” which isn’t this one

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2018-10-30*

Text is too small and gray on a white background. User interface is poorly designed and confusing.

### 1/5 — TOO MUCH MONEY

*2018-05-17*

YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR EVERYTHING ONE STAR DO NOT GET OR LOSE ALL YOUR MONEY

### 1/5 — Requires email

*2018-01-21*

This app will not let you do anything until you provide an email address. To me this means it is worthless. Not that I don’t have dozens of them, but not to share with spammers like these if I can help it.

### 1/5 — Great if you already fully understand music theory

*2017-09-15, version 2.20160811*

From an "instructive" flashcard:

Q: List the order of sharps
A: FCGDAEB

From my thoughts:

Q: What on earth does this mean?
A: I am none the wiser. Many of the cards are like this, and I haven't yet found any learning part of the app. It means that this app is only useful if you already understand all of music theory and need to refresh your memory. I have used flashcard apps very successfully for foreign-language vocabulary memory-enhancement. But clearly to understand a concept, you have to have it explained. Come on Developers, you are very keen on saying how flashcard apps can use multimedia as a learning aid - why not test your app on real people (who don't yet know music theory) before releasing it to the public?

Great app!

### 5/5 — Not entirely free, but well worth the 4.99$

*2016-12-21*

There is a ton of stuff you can learn without paying a penny. And it is really helpful especially with your training. When I'm finished with the entire app that is free, I'm going to happily purchase the rest of it for less than five dollars. Wonderful app.

### 5/5 — Just started.

*2016-12-10, version 2.20160811*

Love it! :-) :-) Thank you!

### 5/5 — Good theory training

*2016-07-29, version 2.20141023*

Seems to be a good training app. Haven't had the puppy message yet, but you can opt out if you want to.
