### 2/5 — Sound won't work

*2017-06-13, version 1.23*

The app itself is very handy and helpful for quickly finding chords corresponding to particular keys HOWEVER...

It's of limited value when the sound won't work. I paid for the upgrade and got access to the extended features but still no sound. This needs to be fixed to make it of any real value.

### 2/5 — No use

*2017-05-05, version 1.21*

App is not ready for iOS 10 and it does not orient itself towards any kind of usability. It was once a paid app that went free and it looks like it too.

### 4/5 — Request

*2013-08-13, version 1.14*

What an excellent app, the only thing left out is the ability to rotate the wheel of fifths in real time... Instead of a picture

### 4/5 — Interface change for uncommon scales

*2013-07-06, version 1.12*

Admittedly, I haven't used the app much. I don't need help on my major/minor scales, but need to exercise my brain w/ other scales. So my complaint would be that one (in my opinion) shouldn't think of (or be forced to think of) a scale in terms of its relative major. It would be nice to be able to, for example, find the B locrian scale on the "B key" view, instead if needing to think of the relative major, go there, then select locrian.... A UX change is probably needed, but overall, the app does its job.

### 4/5 — Great Little App

*2013-02-05, version 1.12*

Since the update this app out performs any of this nature that I have seen thus far. Really helpful during the creative process. The availability of the Circle of 5th chart as well as chord substitution, all modes and scales. The one thing I would add is to display the relative minor on Circle of 5th's chart. Otherwise...Great little app!!!

### 4/5 — Nice app

*2013-01-30, version 1.12*

Hope you continue develop app.
Add jazz chords more then 4 notes :)

### 4/5 — Needs record button.

*2012-11-01, version 1.04*

I love this app. It really helps me put ideas together before transferring them to guitar, but it would be really nice if there was a way to record things so the rhythm/ beat wasn't forgotten. I would buy this app in a heartbeat of it had that.

### 2/5 — It's ok

*2012-10-15, version 1.03*

It's ok but for $3.99 I want to see more
scales and more features as its stands waves app is better than this

### 3/5 — Ads

*2012-09-12, version 1.03*

Updating the free version now turns the app into a typical ad campaign (which ruins the experience).

If you want the pre-ad version, it is likely still in the iTunes folder (Google how to find it).

### 4/5 — Good stuff, but....

*2012-08-15, version 1.02*

I'm excited about this app, but a couple of things I've noticed are a bit weird, and should be fixed if there's ever an update.
Instead of having the upper or lowercase of the Roman Numeral correspond to the type of chord (uppercase for Major, lowercase for minor) this app has the roman numeral corresponding to the numbered half steps within the scale. I don't know if this is different in different countries, but in America that is incorrect.
Which is confusing, to say the least. The only other problem I see is the absence of a relative minor option. The only thing it shows is a parallel minor. But that's not really a problem, it's just not handy.

But really, great app. Just don't trust the Roman Numerals. :)

### 2/5 — アップデート

*2012-08-07, version 1.02*

アップデートをしたら縦表示しかしなくなった。先日有料のスケールを買ったばかりなのに、意味がなくなった。

### 3/5 — review

*2012-07-30, version 1.01*

Nice app but very disappointed after this long time the only update we get is change of icon.

### 3/5 — Kinda cool but...

*2012-07-22, version 1.0*

I'm pretty sure the circle of fifths is off by a semitone, for instance the fifth to c is g, not g flat or f#

### 2/5 — This is a great idea but...

*2012-05-14, version 1.0*

... On my iPad 2 there's no sound at all, even after rebooting the iPad. I would buy the full version if the sound worked.

### 1/5 — Won’t work anymore on iPad or iPhone?

*2024-04-13, version 1.23*

Can’t find it on App Store, what’s happened?

### 1/5 — Once brilliant

*2023-10-16, version 1.23*

This was my go to App for music. Outdated and no longer works with modern iOS.

### 1/5 — Stopped working with iOS 7.1.2

*2014-09-09, version 1.14*

Software disappears after launch.

### 1/5 — no sound even after updating and restarting

*2013-02-18, version 1.12*

too bad - a nice app if it works, but after doing the "in app" purchase (to unlock basic features which should've been included from the start) - this app will not produce audio from the built in speaker (all other DAW apps do).

Please fix this bug asap !

### 1/5 — Room for improvement...

*2013-01-30, version 1.12*

Very good app for trying out ideas, has helped me a lot. The keyboard is very irresponsible though, often triggers a sharp when my finger is clearly not on it. Would be nice to have some sort of record function or maybe midi. That would easily make it a 5*!

### 1/5 — Needs an upgrade

*2012-12-15, version 1.11*

Seems as though the developer has long forgotten this app.

Quick Chords offers pretty much the same thing and more.

### 1/5 — Horrible update

*2012-11-26, version 1.10*

Why did you start charging for the normal features...

### 1/5 — Please fix right side!!!

*2012-11-20, version 1.10*

I started with the free version and quickly updated to the paid when I found there were only a few key signatures you could select. Also, I noticed I could change the scales or modes. However, upon update, the rest of the keys were made accessible BUT IM STILL HAVING AGGRAVATING ISSUES! It seems like the right side of the GUI just doesn't respond to touch. It's not my phone (iPhone 5) or my screen; I turned the phone 180 degrees and there was still a problem. I still can't access modes, the top row of notes, AND the piano keys on the right side of the screen. And by access, I mean I can see them, they just don't respond to touch. PLEASE UPDATE!!! PLEASE! I'll give a better review if you can fix this.

### 1/5 — Way too buggy!

*2011-11-25, version 1.0*

Beware. The keys on the keyboard do not always play the correct pitches..in the version I just downloaded, playing a C actually sounds C# more often than not. Same with F. Problems with Bs & Ds as well. That's a Deal-Killer for me.

### 1/5 — No Sound

*2011-08-22, version 1.0*

There is no sound. App is useless.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2016-07-06, version 1.14*

This app is fantastic! Really handy for chords and playing in key!!

### 5/5 — 感動、コードを指一本で‼

*2013-07-18, version 1.13*

ピアノも、ダイアトニックもわからないなか、指一本、しかもダイアトニックコードが予めピックアップ‼
無料番ですが、このアプリのおかげで少しコードで遊び、アイデアもらいました（笑）

### 5/5 — Amazing and thx

*2013-01-29, version 1.12*

This music tool works just right it's fun and easy to use I love the features and love this app thxx

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2013-01-01, version 1.11*

It's a pretty good acoustic piano sound. The notes are in tune, but a half step off. Playing a C on this piano is really a C#. It's a good app if you don't mind it being off a half step. Nice circle of 5ths, scales and chord helps. For me, a skinny stylus works best to play it. It's nice if I hear a song and wonder what key it's in I can whip this out and figure it out.

### 5/5 — New update works

*2012-11-28, version 1.11*

All of the buttons on the right side are working properly again.

### 5/5 — Music Tool

*2012-09-16, version 1.03*

When I am writing new songs. This is the only music reference software that I reach for and I have tried all the rest.

### 5/5 — Problems......

*2012-08-07, version 1.02*

I like the idea, but there are a couple of issues. Of the selections for key changes, two don't work. You can't access D, and G. I also can't access the 'Circle of Fifths'. The only other issue; there is no way to contact the developers from within the app. Why would I spend $4 for the full app when there are such essential parts of the LE version that don't work, and there are no way to address the issues? If they fix those issues, I will adjust my rating accordingly, and purchase the full version.

Update: I found out how to contact the Developer, and he was Great!!! He got back to me immediately, and suggested a couple of possible remedies. I will definitely purchase the full version.

### 5/5 — Great for those with basic skills.

*2012-05-10, version 1.0*

If you have gone through basic music theory, or at least know which notes are which in each cleft, and have heard the word key signatures, then this app will save your life if you are learning the piano. Although the keys are a little junky, the fact that it has the circle of fifths built right in, and shows you have to play major and minor keys in different key signatures, makes it a great app for an even greater price.

### 5/5 — ,для незнаек.

*2012-03-08, version 1.0*

Твердая 5

### 5/5 — Thanks!

*2011-04-19, version 1.0*

This is a fantastic app for composers and wonderful to use. The expanded version is well worth it for the additional modes and keys. Thanks to all who created it.
