## What is MusicLab+?

Your own music library, with Daily Mixes that feel made for you.

MusicLab+ is a music player for iPhone and iPad that plays the music you host yourself on a Navidrome or OpenSubsonic server, and now your Apple Music library too. Every day it builds fresh Daily Mixes from your library, plays endless Song and Artist Radio, and shows synced lyrics.

NOW WITH APPLE MUSIC
Prefer Apple Music? Connect it and play your Apple Music library and playlists, search all of Apple Music, and follow along with synced lyrics, on iPhone, iPad and CarPlay. Now Playing shows the best quality Apple Music offers for each song, like Lossless or Dolby Atmos. Requires an Apple Music subscription. Try it free for 7 days; after that it's part of MusicLab+ Unlock.

YOUR OWN MUSIC SERVER
MusicLab+ does not sell a music catalog. It plays the music you already have, from your Navidrome or OpenSubsonic server. Emby, WebDAV and music files on your device are supported too. New to Navidrome? A short welcome video and a "What's Navidrome?" explainer show you how it works, and "Try the demo server" lets you explore the app in seconds using the public Navidrome demo.

MADE FOR YOU
Up to six Daily Mixes, rebuilt every day from your own library: about 60% favorites and 40% songs you haven't played lately. No artist plays twice in a row, songs you've given a thumbs down never appear, and you can save a mix to your server as a playlist.

ENDLESS RADIO
Start Radio from any song or artist for an endless stream of similar music, using similarity data from Navidrome and Last.fm, with a local fallback from your own library.

THUMBS UP, THUMBS DOWN
Thumbs up adds a song to your favorites on your server. Thumbs down skips it and keeps it out of your mixes.

LYRICS, CARPLAY AND MORE
• Synced lyrics from your server or from LRCLIB
• Vivid theme that takes its colors from the album artwork
• CarPlay with Home, Artists, Library and Playlists, complete with artwork, plus thumbs up and down on Now Playing
• Sleep timer and Home Screen widgets
• Equalizer and custom fonts with MusicLab+ Unlock

FREE, WITH A ONE-TIME UNLOCK
MusicLab+ is free to download. The free version includes the full player, Song and Artist Radio, Daily Mix 1 and a 7-day free trial of Apple Music in MusicLab+. MusicLab+ Unlock is a single in-app purchase that adds Apple Music, all Daily Mixes, saving mixes to your server, the Equalizer and custom fonts. Pay once and keep it, with Family Sharing. There is no subscription.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. MusicLab+ talks only to your own server, Apple Music when you connect it, plus LRCLIB for lyrics lookups, which receive just a song's title, artist, album and duration. Nothing is stored on our servers. Purchases are handled by Apple.

Apple Music, inside MusicLab+.

• Play your Apple Music library and playlists, search all of Apple Music, and follow along with synced lyrics, on iPhone, iPad and CarPlay. Choose "Use Apple Music" on the Welcome screen, or go to Settings > Apple Music. Requires an Apple Music subscription.
• Now Playing shows the best quality Apple Music offers for the song, like Lossless or Dolby Atmos.
• Try Apple Music in MusicLab+ free for 7 days. After that it's part of MusicLab+ Unlock, a one-time purchase. No subscription.
• Fixes and polish.

### 1.0.8 — 2026-10-24

Thumbs up and thumbs down are now on the iPad and on iPhone in landscape, matching CarPlay and Apple TV.

Apple Watch: no more "Open MusicLab+ on your iPhone" flash when you raise your wrist.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-10-16

• iPad: in landscape, when a song has no lyrics, the album art now moves to the centre and gets bigger, with the title and controls underneath.
• Small fixes and polish.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-10-15

• Turn the page: the album art on Now Playing now turns like a page in a book. Swipe it to go to the next or previous song; the skip buttons, CarPlay and the end of a song turn the page too. Works in landscape as well.
• Apple Watch: a redesigned Now Playing in the style of Apple's own player, with thumbs up and down and your playlists one tap away.
• Your library keeps itself up to date: new playlists and songs added on your server now appear on their own. Pull down to refresh any time, and see when your server last scanned in Settings.
• Small fixes and polish.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-10-09

• Playlists: sort by name, recently added, recently updated or most songs, from the new sort button or the ⋮ menu.
• Rename playlists: tap a playlist's title or choose Rename; the new name is saved to your Navidrome server.
• Now Playing comes alive: an animated background made from the album art, with soft light and rising music notes. Turn it off in Settings > Animated Background.
• Select mode: the Play Next, Add to Queue, Add to Playlist and Delete buttons now respond anywhere you tap them.
• Small fixes and polish.
