The very large QR code and the blue “view your music” button take me to my app store to purchase the app first. I already have the app!! I updated, but still can’t access that way. I have to go to my account and go through print your music or order history. In addition to all that, I purchased a title in two different keys, but order history shows only one purchased key. One last thing- the “view receipt”button does not bring up the receipt at all. It takes me right back to the big QR code to purchase the app! PLEASE FIX ALL THIS!! I use this app a lot, and would very much like a “reset” to the previous version. Three stars because I can EVENTUALLY get to my music to print. Allow playback for left hand or right hand or both. At least playback for treble staff or bass staff or both. You know which staff has notes. You don’t necessarily know which hand will play which. While trialing the app, trying to use a Bluetooth foot pedal on the free version was complete frustration. And now suddenly, the app prevents me from viewing any sheet music in the shop. It just keeps attempting to load the account and I have left it actively trying to sign in for 5 minutes ### 2/5 — Why are only certain keys available? *2026-04-25, version 3.3.0* Absolutely absurd that songs can be transposed, but not to any key. Why?? Ridiculous. Seems like every time I or a student wants a song in a different key, it happens to be one of the few keys that is not available. Also a lot of these songs have lots of typos. They should give refunds for typos. Really sloppy, non-consumer friendly service. ### 4/5 — PDFs *2026-04-23, version 3.3.0* I’m experiencing problems with pdfs being locked. The files open on my phone and computer however they don’t work on music notes app. If I remove the files, I still have problems because all of the songs that previously worked don’t until I close the app and reopen. I need reliability for gigs and I’m not getting it. Also, the help line doesn’t help. No customer service support seems available. I plan to adjust this rating if the problem is resolved. ### 2/5 — Apple pen does not work with notations *2026-04-19, version 3.3.0* Notations ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Subpar and no clear way to cancel *2026-08-09, version 3.7.1* The app might work OK if you try to do everything on a single device, but the reason I subscribed to this so I could sync my music across different device devices. This is kind of pointless because you have to re-download your music on every device. To make things worse, there’s no clear way to cancel your membership. I finally found it buried and hidden after looking at all their support documentation which was of no help and trying to contact their support which wasn’t open. Also, the markup functionality really sucks. There’s no undo button so anytime you want to undo something You have to select the eraser make it really big, erase, then go back and select the pen and make that small again. And by the way, there’s no way to make the pen the right size. you have to just try your hardest to get the slider in the right spot and then if it’s not the right size you have to go through the entire erase process again. ### 1/5 — Rip off *2026-07-21, version 3.7.0* Only lets you print the cover sheet after purchase. On that note, contacting support is awful. Literally got nowhere. Not even sure it was even lodged at the end of all that. Planning to dispute the charge with apple now. Similar happened when I was attempting to download transpositions. I followed all of the suggestions on their website, and it actually messed up the keyboard settings for my iPad in general. I'm not sure if it's the latest update, or maybe a strategy to get more people to purchase PDFs instead of reading from the app, but this issue has severely detrimented several of my professional performances already. I would definitely avoid this app until they have the pedal issue comletely resolved. ### 1/5 — Major Systems Issues - No Correction 2+ Years! *2026-06-15, version 3.4.0* Musicians who need a reliable app for performances; DO NOT USE THIS APP! I’m stuck with this app bc of the amount of music I have purchased in the many years I’ve had it. It shuts down MULTIPLE times during performances, closes the app out entirely in the middle of songs, freezes during searches, only lets me upload one song at a time for set list creations, and so on. I have tried tech support, I have updated my iPad, archived songs as suggested, and still nothing. I told tech support this and crickets. They offered me no further suggestions, no fixes. So what do I do? Improv. I’ve learned to improv with one hand while reopening the app and finding the song with the other. I don’t recommend it, it’s stressful when you’re in the middle of, say, a wedding processional. Do not use this app if you will want a large library, if you’ll want to import .pdfs, or if you want reliability. It’s been garbage for me for 2+ years but I’m too financial invested in the music purchased at this point to stop using it. Any music I bought is so small on the screen you can’t see it if it’s in portrait position, landscape is easier to see but doesn’t run smooth , flickers and judders all over the place making it impossible to follow.
