Update: some of our members have not been responding because they don’t realise they have to press the hidden submit button that’s off the bottom of the phone screen. It would be much better if either the yes no buttons worked immediately or the submit button was visible on screen without scrolling.
There seems to be a lot of wasted blank space below the yes no buttons.
And it would be better if the screen moved up when entering notes because the keyboard obscures the place you’re entering text.

Update 2: I created a new event for info only. Later I wanted to change it to have a required response. There seems to be no way of doing this. I did send out an update change and the email title said response required, but the bottom of the email said “no response is requested”. And the “for info“ status of each person did not change to “no reply”.
I ended up going through every member and changing the status manually – very tedious.

Original: First impressions are very good, the learning curve was fairly painless. It would be nice to see which section members are in when looking at the members tab.(Admin). On the web site events page you can drag players into a different section. For us that is really useful as some players are multi instrumental. It would be good if there was the option to send a notification to players when they are moved. Perhaps at the end of moving players into the desired sections for that event. On iPhone 12 mini the app version number is not completely visible in the bottom right of the screen.

On the website, adding the yes no maybe status of players from an earlier system is pretty painful. it would be good to either have an XLS import or less clicks to change each reply status.

on the app , for an admin, it would be good to be able to change the reply status of those few players that don’t use the system or just want to tell me.

**Developer response:** Hi "New user" ;)
Thanks for your review and useful feedback. To answer your points:
1. Sections in the members tab. We'll take a look at showing the section once the group is selected.
2. Notifications when members are moved. Good idea - we'll look into that.
3. Importing events from a previous system. Also interesting idea. We'd be happy to help if you contact us at info@muzodo.com.
4. Updating responses of other members in the app. This is on the list.

The app is mainly focussed on (non-admin) members, getting them event details, notifications and being able to respond. We're working on adding more admin functionality.

### 4/5 — Does exactly what we need

*2023-01-06, version 0.5.6*

Our choir has been using Muzodo for several years, and it does just what we need. Members are reminded if they haven’t filled in their availability, forthcoming rehearsals sync with calendar apps…
Chris is prompt to reply to requests and questions, too.
One star deducted because the interface is a little awkwardly designed.
But I’d definitely recommend this app to anyone in charge of administering a large group of musicians.

### 4/5 — Titch

*2023-01-02, version 0.5.6*

Just finished using this app for the first year and it has been really useful. You can check who is available which is really good it then gives us time to sort if deps are needed.
I’m not sure how it works when you are connected to two bands as I get a different format, perhaps that’s how the admin has set it up but if it is workable in the same format for more than one band I’d say it’s a no brainier. Well satisfied.

### 5/5 — Best band app ever

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

Perfect app for bands to coordinate player’s attendance and give out event details.

### 5/5 — Fantastic resource!

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

After many many years of being fixed via mobile phone or email this resource is brilliant as a place to sort out dates in the diary and different needs ( say for lifts or dress codes ) the alternative google spreadsheet was ok but there was no way to delete it from one’s g drive without it mysteriously turning up again years later ( not so good when fixing funeral choirs…). And recent changes to doodlepole similarly couldn’t cope with voting for which day to run the concert or rehearsals on. All of this is solved by Muzodo ( Ie a do fixed by and for Muzos…) and is a handy external to diary resource to see what’s coming up and who’s been invited /coming. I’m impressed and enjoying how easy it is to find information regarding each gig without having to wade through endless emails from the same originating organisers.

### 5/5 — Muzodo is easy to use

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

I’m in multiple bands that use this app. It’s easy to install, use & to maintain the band roster!
Even our most technologically challenged members are able to use it.
I particularly appreciate being able to see who is attending each gig at a glance, by section/instrument.

### 5/5 — Convenient band management tool

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

I have faithfully been using Muzodo’s service, including, this app, for 5+ years. The service has greatly simplified my role as band manager. This app is a great tool to tie into the service while “on the road” at rehearsal or a performance.

### 5/5 — Brilliant useful app.

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

We use Muzodo for my choir and Band and it is slick, efficient and incredibly useful. Both managers and members find it invaluable and wonder how we managed before. Use it correctly and intelligently and be amazed. We love it.

### 5/5 — Works great and helps the group

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

I’m a member of the group, so no admin perspective, but this is a great app. Does everything you need to show up at the right place at the right time with the right gear and know who else will be there. I’m running on iPhone with iOS 16.2 with no problems. Website works well too.

### 5/5 — Very happy user

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

The ability to see all gigs in one place and check who is playing is a great step up in managing my life.

One improvement would be the ability to add to my other diary with one touch. Other than that it’s a great app.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

I don’t really understand all the negative reviews about this app. As an organiser of events for a band, this works really well and allows me to see clearly who is available for which events. Not applicable to me personally, but others comment on how useful it is if you belong to multiple groups/bands.

### 5/5 — Really useful app

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

Muzodo has been so useful to the band I’m in. We used it to organise concerts and it enables us to plan where there might be gaps in sections so we can organise deps. During Covid we started to use it for rehearsals so we could keep an eye on numbers (we had distancing) - we’ve carried on using it now as it helps to plan our music for that rehearsal. We also use it to put in all the details for concerts - timings, venue, parking, music list, dress etc.

Easy to use and so helpful.

### 4/5 — User review

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

I cannot comment on the administration of this App but do use it to receive gig notifications, information and updates.
It is simple to use, well presented, quick and efficient. As a user I would recommend it.

### 5/5 — Fabulous!

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

Can’t live without Muzodo, as a pro musician it keeps me ‘in tune’ with my busy schedule!

### 4/5 — 2 brass bands

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

I found muzodo very helpful in recording my jobs and rehearsals. I have retired from playing now . Thank you.

### 5/5 — Muzodo Driffield Silver Band UK

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

I find Muzodo an excellent Management tool. Members can track events, dress standards, location, timings, updates, all at the touch of their apps.

The price is excellent making it easy for the cost not to be prohibitive to the group.

Well done Chris

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

It’s easy to use! Keeps me on track with what’s happening when and love all the info like get in times, how many in the section etc Great to get the reminders too.

### 4/5 — Does all we need

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

Our band had used Muzodo for several years now so this review is based on experience. Finding availability for gigs has been made really easy. I can see at a glance who is available , who hasn’t replied etc and the ability to send reminders automatically is really useful. We also use it for deciding between several possible dates for a meeting. The single email address for all members means no one misses out on communications.
I’ve found that if I’m are prepared to search the functionality of the site I can usually find what I want and if I can’t, an email to Chris Ahern elicits a prompt and helpful reply.
I can’t imagine how we ever managed without Muzodo.

### 5/5 — Works well for us!

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

Muzodo works well for our shanty band - providing, of course, that all band members respond in a timely manner!
We are a group of around 15 members and no complaints from me!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No stars, appallingly bad app

*2022-10-18, version 0.5.6*

Please don’t waste your time downloading this app! It simply doesn’t work! Once downloaded you get a log in page, but you haven’t had the option to register first. When you try to enter your details, the page freezes and you simply can’t do anything else at all.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2021-11-28, version 0.5.6*

Can’t log in at all so how can I use it- rubbish

### 1/5 — How on earth did this get past Apple quality control?

*2021-03-16, version 0.5.6*

I can’t rate it because it doesn’t work - oh, sorry - that’s all I need to say.

Total waste of time downloading and trying to make it work

Please mentally delete at least one star from my rating as I cannot leave zero or negative!

### 1/5 — Confused!

*2019-01-25, version 1.0*

Downloaded the app, asked for email and password, typed something in and said it was incorrect but how do I set it up as a new user? Said to reset it would email me but haven’t had anything

### 1/5 — Waste of time!

*2018-03-10, version 1.0*

Not much of an app if it won't let you in! Typed in my email and password - told me it's wrong, try again, so I tried .... And tried, and tried and...zzzz

### 2/5 — Basic functionality

*2022-10-25, version 0.5.6*

Not very useable. The process of confirming attendance is slow and convoluted. It needs to operate with swipe gestures in the same way email works. With only yes, no and maybe, this should be trivial to implement. For instance, swipe from right to say yes, left for no and tap for options including details about maybe.

Our MD manages rehearsals with the app so it’s pretty tedious having to use the current method.

### 2/5 — Unusable due to crashes.

*2019-01-28, version 1.0*

App crashes every time I try to update a job

### 3/5 — It's ok

*2022-12-31, version 0.5.6*

The app needs to be able to split different bands into groups. It can be unclear when there is too much on one page. If it does that already, I take back what I said

### 3/5 — So far so good

*2018-07-31, version 1.0*

The basic functionality is great. Keeping money private using the custom fields that was supposed to be an admin only view did not work so well. More testing needs to be done so the users don’t experience the problems.

### 3/5 — Changes could be made

*2018-04-29, version 1.0*

It works really well as an app to see who’s able to attend what concert without having to do too much chasing down of people.
However, I advise that two major changes could be made.

1) I have the iOS 11.3.1 update and I often find that whenever I open the app to confirm that I can do a job, it just crashes every couple minutes without saving changes. Therefore I recommend to be looked at quite urgently.

2) It’s nice to know who’s attending a concert that’s in your section because that way you can plan in advance in terms of who’s needed for the rehearsal. No point having six people in a section for rehearsal if there’s only two from said section doing the concert.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good support

*2026-03-27, version 0.8.0*

It does the business well and responds positively to feedback.

### 5/5 — Newish user

Thanks for the feedback and updates. Great to have such responsive support.

### 5/5 — Very useful tool

*2023-01-04, version 0.5.6*

This is a time saver. No more paper checklists or doodles. Easy software to use and manage, plus they’re constantly adding new features based on user recommendations. Thanks Muzodo!

### 5/5 — VTB loves Muzodo

*2023-01-03, version 0.5.6*

47 musicians who are spread out over several bands in different communities - what could go wrong?
As a concert band that holds a rehearsal once every 2 years or so to look over new music, but gets together regularly to perform at rural area events, without Muzodo we would be hooped.
It works thusly - I send out a notice with a date and timing, hoping to be able to provide a 25 piece band that is well balanced.
Muzodo tracks my musicians and determines other groups that are committed to perform on that date.
I now know the musicians, and instrumentation I have available.

Vancouver Traveling Band

### 5/5 — Fantastic Tool

*2023-01-03, version 0.5.6*

Muzodo is a fantastic scheduling tool that enables us to effectively tell organisers if we are able to accept or decline a job or even if we need to pull in deps as well. Really simple to use, developers are very responsive should you need anything.

### 5/5 — Does the job

*2023-01-03, version 0.5.6*

I have used Muzodo with 3 different bands so far. I find it easy to use on the whole although getting the app to work on my iphone took a bit of fiddling to set up, now it’s set up, it is very easy to keep track of things with both the bands I play in appearing in the same app.
Recommended!

### 5/5 — Excellent Band Scheduler

*2023-01-03, version 0.5.6*

I have been using Muzodo for about 4 years as an administrator to help me run 2 bands having up to 20 players. It has been far easier than the loads of Emails and phone calls I used to have to make to get players and deps to rehearsals and gigs. Each player and dep is happy to have this as an app on their phone. I find that they are often using it for other bands they play in. Chris the developer always listens to queries and suggestions for improvement and changes it when justified. All round it’s excellent.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2023-01-02, version 0.5.6*

Great app. Love everything about it

### 5/5 — Great App

*2023-01-01, version 0.5.6*

Really useful, can see at an instant who’s available and if there’s any gaps in the band that need filling or if we have too many in one section. Great App, we’ll done

### 5/5 — Great app

*2023-01-01, version 0.5.6*

Really great way for our community choir to share info on gigs and keep track of who’s able to attend. I love the automatic reminders and being able to let the organisers know not only if I can attend but if not why not
