At first, the videos and subtitle/download features were great and helped with utilizing the program. Now they want me to pay an additional 74.99 for something already paid for?! This does not make any sense. Please, if you are the creator/distributor, fix this. Already reached out to customer service, they helped me with another issue (thus the two stars, not one), however, I still have yet to hear back about this app. Muzzy rocks, but the people running the app need to get their act together. No one in their right mind would pay extra for an app that is supposed to be part of the deal. ### 2/5 — iPad app does not work *2020-10-24* I downloaded the app, but if I click to login it says something went wrong. I tried shutting down the iPad and waiting a few days, still can’t use it on the iPad. ### 1/5 — Not interactive *2020-07-22, version 2.6.1* Wish this was interactive. Now I have to find a way to cancel. ### 2/5 — Lots of Room for Improvement *2020-06-11* I had no problem using this app. You can get the print-outs and supplemental material on their website. On that point, those materials are not that great, especially not for children. They should have created something a little more interactive, or an additional app. Also, you cant use Google Home to view it on your large screen. Lastly, the story line is a bit weird and maybe not altogether appropriate for children. I can no longer access and there’s no way to reset my password and no contact details. Very disappointing ### 1/5 — This app is not working but we paid for club muzzy *2020-05-06, version 2.6.1* We are able to acres club muzzy using my laptop and were able to access content through puffin academy but we cannot access this app. ### 2/5 — Couldn’t reset Password *2020-04-26, version 2.6.1* I downloaded, watched one episode, thought the content was really good, but then the next time I tried to get in it kept rejecting my password with no way of resetting it. It also stated I wasn’t signed in, but then when I went to settings it said I was already signed in. I’ve now deleted it because there’s no point in having an app on my desktop that I can’t access. ### 1/5 — Love Muzzy, LOATHE this app *2020-03-25, version 2.6.1* Someone please save this app from itself! Muzzy is great, if not a little dated. This should be an easy app to put together — create modules with the videos, extra workbook content, etc. Problem is the website content and the app content are totally different. Beyond that the app crashes all the time, videos play in the background and there’s no way to pause it or stop it without restarting the iPad. Missing videos (no American Rnglish lesson 6) and on and on. It is sooo frustrating. I am sticking with it for now, but my kids complain and they like the videos, but I constantly have to intervene to help them troubleshoot. Also this claims there’s a way to watch it on Apple TV, but I have never been able to find the app on Apple TV. Why can’t there be a nice and neat app available for roku and amazon etc. where we can access the videos? The content is great and already done ... just hire some app designers and programmers who know what the heck they’re doing and you’ll have a winner. ### 1/5 — Scam *2020-02-10, version 2.6.1* The app charged us 29.95 even though we signed up for a year for 80$ liars cheats and no contact info ### 2/5 — Wish it was interactive *2020-02-01, version 2.6.1* I love Muzzy but I wish the app was interactive. I’d rather have the videos on the computer and the games on the app. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Can’t log in on the laptop *2024-06-27* This app only has the videos, no games or printables and when I tried to log into my account through the website, it didn’t recognize my subscription name and password. I triple checked that I got it right and went to the help section where it sent me to a “link” to my distributor but it was only text so I was unable to fix the problem. I canceled my free trial because I can’t get it to work at all. Disappointed because my kid seemed to like the videos. ### 1/5 — Very scared I won’t get my money back *2023-10-18* I’m getting very scared and concerned after reading multiple reviews and trying to get in touch with customer service that I am not gonna be able to cancel or get my refund for this. I have emailed customer service and called which no one answers. I have also tried the chat function on the website and in the middle of the day during a normal work week they say that these aren’t normal business hours. I look up the business on Google and it says the facility is closed. I am getting extremely concerned and wish to be contacted immediately! Other phone numbers aren’t working, links to cancel my subscription don’t work, the list goes on! ### 1/5 — Crap *2021-11-04, version 2.6.1* I wish I would have read other peoples reviews before purchasing the two-year program. Upon signing up you are given a login/password. However, the login/password that they gave me don’t work - so there is no way to access the program on any apps (there is also no way to change or recover your password ). I have tried emailing the company and no one responds. I’ve tried calling to cancel - and again no one responds. Muzzy is a great program - but the way this is set up, this really is a scam. 6 month update: WAY too little content for the amount that you pay and the app for some reason constantly locks me out and the password never works on the app even though it works on the desktop website. All in all, worst purchase I made this year. Save your money. **Developer response:** I am so sorry that you had such a poor experience with Muzzy. Enjoyed the MUZZY experience none the less ### 1/5 — This is the worst App *2021-08-25, version 2.6.1* This app says you can cancel your subscription at any time but there is no way to cancel. I have tried several times, it says I don’t have an account but the app still works and they keep charging me the app sends you to the website to cancel and the website sends you to the app. Then they provide and email for cancellation that bounces back. It’s a scam. The worst part is that I’m canceling because the content and stories are sexist and teaching my kid really dated and problematic gender roles and power dynamics. I want my money back! ### 1/5 — Not honoring subscription time *2021-07-27* I purchased a 24 month subscription up front, and it stopped working after 12 months. Nothing was emailed to me to confirm my purchase, but I took screen shots of the receipt screen after purchase. There is a phone number at the bottom, but it doesn’t work. So I have no way of contacting anyone except to complain here. **Developer response:** I am very sorry that you were not able to access your subscription! The animation is incredibly dated and due to poor quality really does not hold my child’s attention. Avoid ### 1/5 — Huh? *2020-11-11* You’ll have better luck with Dora the explorer. They explain what the word is. This does repetition in the videos, but no explanation. So my kids get tired of not understanding because they can not relate in any way. Also, these videos HAD to be from the 90’s. This was way over priced! ### 1/5 — I thought I paid for this *2020-08-28* I thought I signed up and paid but never could figure out the login. There’s no password reset. It’s now been so long that I can’t even remember which month I bought it (or attempted to) and I find it really frustrating. I loved Muzzy as a kid. But subtitles don’t work on Apple TV and nobody responds via customer service. Potential to be a 5 star if customer service responds on how to fix subtitles. ### 3/5 — App vs web *2022-10-05* If you start in the app, the password does not open the web version. So I did not understand how to access all the print outs and games( these are not in the app) I canceled the trial and then purchased through the web, an now same issue, the web version password is not valid in the app. ### 3/5 — 3 stars *2022-08-03* I used to love it but when I got my phone it wouldn’t work on mine and it worked fine on my moms phone til it quit on us !!!! 😡😭great program and storyline, but thinking about downloading duolingo instead. Adios! ### 3/5 — Room for improvement *2020-09-11, version 2.6.1* The language content is good enough that we overlooked a lot of glaring issues and decided this was the best plan for our children for foreign language learnings this time. The graphics are updated from the 1990s version but certainly not up to our current modern standards. It still looks incredibly dated. Luckily my kids are young and don’t care. Also not happy with the storyline being so entwined with romantic love triangle between the evil villain and the poor gardener and the princess. Wish the story were more kid oriented and appropriate and that in this #metoo era, BBC would have updated the storyline a bit. Plenty of other great topics to explore without having a central theme revolving around the love between the two characters and the creepy stalker Corvex. Also the games could be broadened and modernized and interactive. It would be nice to have the games in an app and not web based as it is. Also for the games to include more activities for non-reading kids that could also benefit those who are old enough to read. The games are quite boring and not motivating at all. Specifically for the Chinese lessons- the videos and video clips are entirely done in pinyin, the romanization of Chinese. That is a HUGE pity. Even if they didn’t teach the writing or reading, just seeing the characters over and over while the different words are repeated on the screen would be incredibly useful and very easy to overlay on top of their current video. I’d be happy to help them do it actually. Also it would be much improved by having the ability to cast onto the TV. ### 3/5 — Got my password actives and access to my subscription *2020-02-08* Up date, a few days later got a phone call from customer service and got access to all my subscription and got my password again.. my son 7 loves Muzzy.. we are learning Mandarin and there is no pro tables for it yet, that is why I did not give 5 but other wise great program for kids. ### 3/5 — No subtitles or games? *2019-10-14* Muzzy is sweet - would love to be able to turn on subtitles (as on the computer version) and access the games. I’d hoped to be able to use the app on the road more.
