The MVV-App is the cost-free and ad-free app for timetable information and public transport tickets in the entire Munich transport network (Münchner VerkehrsVerbund).

Whether you use a regional train, suburban train (S-Bahn), underground (U-Bahn), streetcar (Tram), bus, or on-demancd services (RufTaxi, FLEX or FLEXlinie) - with the app you will always find the fastest connection to your destination in Munich and the districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Dachau, Ebersberg, Erding, Freising, Fürstenfeldbruck, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Landsberg a.L., Landshut, Miesbach, Munich, Rosenheim, Starnberg, Weilheim-Schongau and in the cities of Landshut and Rosenheim.
Thanks to real-time information (forecasts), you are always well informed. You can buy the right ticket directly via smartphone, with MVVswipe conveniently via check-in and check-out, without having to know our tariff details. I downloaded the MVV app and registered before we left the UK for our European road trip, which included a three-day stopover in Munich. It made getting around the city incredibly easy. We simply bought our tickets in advance, paid with Apple Pay, downloaded them to our phones, and could hop on and off public transport without any hassle.

As a family of four, the Group Day Ticket for Zone M was excellent value, as we weren’t planning to visit the usual tourist attractions outside the city centre. It gave us unlimited travel on the buses, trams, U-Bahn and S-Bahn, so we could explore Munich at our own pace without worrying about buying individual tickets.

I would certainly recommend the MVV app to anyone staying in Munich. It’s simple to use, convenient, and takes all the stress out of using public transport.

War immer sehr zufrieden mit der der App und habe sie gerne hergenommen. Jetzt stürzt sie dauernd ab, ich weiß nicht ob ich ein Ticket habe, weil es entweder verspätet oder gar nicht angezeigt wird. Konnte am Montag nur per Mail beweisen, dass ich eins gekauft hab. Wenn ich auf Ticketshop tippe schließt sich die App sofort. Würde mich freuen, wenn es wieder funktioniert.
Ich habe ein IPhone 14 Plus und IOS Version 26.5. Vielen Dank im Voraus.

Leider zeigen seit dem Mai-Update unserer App einige iPhones das von Ihnen beschriebene Problem, dass es im Zusammenhang mit Tickets zu Abstürzen kommt. Da nur eine sehr geringe Anzahl an iPhones betroffen ist und weder wir noch unser Softwarepartner die Abstürze bisher nachstellen konnten, ist die Fehlerbehebung leider schwierig. Allerdings lässt sich das Problem mit einer kurzzeitigen Deinstallation und Neuinstallation der App beheben. Die Neuinstallation ist leider momentan auch der einzige Weg, den wir Ihnen als Lösung anbieten können. Unser Softwarepartner ist natürlich weiterhin an der Fehleranalyse. Gerne können Sie uns mitteilen, welches iPhone und welche iOS Version Sie derzeit nutzen, die Informationen könnten bei der Fehlersuche weiterhelfen.

This app might work if you live in the area but I tried to use it as a tourist and got absolutely nowhere.  How do you buy a ticket?  Just gives you error messages.  Is the ticket good for a day, a single ride, an area?  Unable to tell. Some of these things might be the mystery of the local bus system but I was unable to use this app to access it, and I really wanted to try the bus.

This app is excellent for navigation, real time options for the fastest trip. It’s generally very user friendly, as well. Lately, however, it has been automatically logging me out and I have had trouble accessing my ticket in a timely fashion. Also, I wish the app provided more information on service interruptions.

Ich nutze die MVV-App sehr gerne und bin insgesamt super zufrieden damit. Die Fahrplanauskunft ist extrem zuverlässig, die Verbindungssuche mit Echtzeitdaten funktioniert top und auch das Ticket-Kaufen im Alltag ist super unkompliziert. Die App erleichtert mir das Pendeln in und um München in den allermeisten Situationen wirklich sehr!
Es gibt jedoch einen kritischen Punkt, der das Erlebnis im Zug leider oft sehr stressig macht: die Offline-Nutzung des Deutschlandtickets.
Wenn man auf Strecken mit schlechtem Mobilfunknetz unterwegs ist, fällt es der App unheimlich schwer, das Ticket zügig aus dem lokalen Speicher (Cache) zu laden. Statt den QR-Code sofort anzuzeigen, gerät die App oft in eine lange Ladeschleife, weil sie im Hintergrund versucht, eine Serververbindung aufzubauen. Da Screenshots offiziell nicht erlaubt sind, steht man bei einer Kontrolle in einem Funkloch dann plötzlich ohne vorzeigbares Ticket da. Das führt leider zu unnötigem Stress mit dem Kontrollpersonal, obwohl man ein gültiges Abo besitzt.

Als konstruktiven Verbesserungsvorschlag für ein kommendes Update würde ich mir zwei Dinge wünschen:

1. Eine Optimierung des lokalen Speichers, sodass das Ticket im Offline-Modus sofort und ohne jegliche Serverabfrage geladen wird.

2. Eine native Apple Wallet-Integration. Wenn man das Ticket direkt ins Wallet schieben könnte, wären alle Lade- und Internetprobleme dauerhaft gelöst.

Wenn dieser Punkt noch behoben wird, ist die App für mich absolut perfekt und verdient die vollen 5 Sterne! Vielen Dank an das Entwicklerteam für die ansonsten tolle Arbeit.

**Developer response:** Vielen Dank für die Bewertung. Beide Wünsche sind absolut nachvollziehbar. Zum ersten Punkt müssen wir sagen, dass wir dieses Feature eigentlich seit Jahren bereits unterstützen - leider hat sich aber beim letzten App-Update leider ein Bug eingeschlichen, der die Nutzung die Offline-Nutzung auf manchen iPhones unbeabsichtigt verhindert. Unser Softwarepartner ist bereits an der Analyse. Wir hoffen, zeitnah Abhilfe schaffen zu können, können aber für den Moment leider nur um Geduld bitten und uns für den Fehler entschuldigen. Der zweite Punkt lässt sich leider nicht zeitnah umsetzen. Hintergrund ist, dass es über Jahre hinweg eine Inkompatibilität des von uns genutzten, deutschlandweiten Standards für ÖPNV-Tickets und den Wallets von Apple und Google gab. Auch wenn die technische Inkompatibilität inzwischen überwunden wurde, wird es noch dauern, bis die Funktion in den von uns genutzten Systemkomponenten zur Verfügung steht. Wir sind uns dem großen Wunsch nach einer Wallet-Integration bewusst.

Wenn die App beim Öffnen auf „meine tickets“ steht, ist die Liste leer. Stattdessen findet man einen Hinweis, man solle sich einloggen, wenn Tickets fehlen. Nach dem Login (der leider auch dann funktioniert, wenn man schon eingeloggt war, was für zusätzliche Unklarheit sorgt) fehlen nach wie vor alle Tickets. Stattdessen muss man nach dem Starten auf den Ticket-Shop gehen, dort sind auch die gekauften Fahrkarten noch vorhanden. Wenn man anschließend wieder „meine Tickets“ anwählt sind sie dort auch wieder da. 
Sofern man das weiß ist das irgendwie noch verschmerzbar, wenn man es versucht herauszufinden, während neben einem eine ungeduldige Kontrolleurin steht, ist es allerdings unnötig nervenaufreibend.

**Developer response:** Vielen Dank für die Bewertung. Ein systemseitiger Logout sollte nur nach längerer Zeit der Inaktivität sowie bei bestimmten Updates aus Sicherheitsgründen erfolgen. Allerdings sollten Sie sich dann natürlich auch umgehend und völlig problemlos wieder einloggen können. Können Sie uns genauer erläutern, wie häufig und in welchen Abständgen ("permanent"?) Sie unbeabsichtigt ausgeloggt wurden? Welche Probleme traten bei den anschließenden Login-Versuchen auf, wurde Ihnen eine Fehlermeldung angezeigt? Wenden Sie sich bei Login-Problemen sehr gerne mit Ihrer registrierten E-Mailadresse direkt an den MVV-Kundendialog, dann können die Kolleg:innen den Fall anhand Ihres Nutzeraccounts prüfen und bestimmt aufklären.

Ich habe die App kurz vor einem
Aufenthalt in München installiert, um den ÖPNV dort auf einfache Art nutzen zu können, und diesen Dienst hat die App tadellos erfüllt. Wenn ich darüber nachdenke, was ein wenig praktischer sein könnte, dann wäre es die Art der Wegbeschreibung. Für jemand ortskundigen ist die sicher auch prima. Für jemanden wie mich, der nur selten in München ist, ist nicht immer über die reinen Richtungsbeschreibungen der Weg direkt erkennbar. Woher weiss die App, wo stehe, wenn Wegbeschreibungen nur mit links, oder rechts beschrieben werden. Das hat vor Ort, selbst bei gutem Orientierungssinn suboptimal geklappt. Allerdings ist das ein kleiner Makel.
