### 2/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-08-13, version 7.0.0*

Doesn’t work on any physical after 6:00 PM so it’s worse than the old Thrive app.

### 3/5 — Invite caregiver

*2026-05-20, version 6.1.1*

The invite care giver will not send an email. The feature spins briefly and stops without sending an email. I have installed the app on two separate iphones and the result is the same, verified mail works, and successfully paired the hearing aids. the failure is identical on both phones. Phones have also been shut off and restarted, it appears to be either an account side issue, a backend caregiver server problem or a software bug

### 3/5 — App is quirky

*2026-04-16, version 6.1.1*

I have several programs on my phone, personal, outdoors and tinnitus. When I am in my car the program randomly changes from personal to tinnitus and then randomly change back. This is most annoying especially since I then need to go back in the app and reset the treble, base and midrange settings.

I believe I have the latest version of the app since my iPhone is set to download the app updates.

### 3/5 — Data logs inaccurate

*2026-01-20, version 5.1.2*

The data logs in the app under the health tab are grossly in accurate. For example, today I put my hearing aids in two hours and 15 minutes ago, but the log is showing that they have been in use for nine hours. This gross inaccuracy has been consistent.

### 4/5 — User friendly but would love some higher-tech options

*2025-09-03, version 5.0.2*

This app is great for controlling my hearing devices and is very easy to use. The only thing it’s missing is a shortcut icon for Apple Watch home screens.

My only request, if y’all are accepting them, is to allow for an Apple Watch shortcut from watch faces in order to discreetly and quickly adjust settings on the hearing devices. I use my Watch a lot and would love to control it from my wrist with a shortcut, instead of searching for the icon in the Watch apps list, and spare my having to take my phone out every time! I’d love to be contacted if you would like more info.

### 4/5 — Not seamless across Apple devices

*2025-05-27, version 4.1.1*

This app is good only only one Apple device, iPhone which is the primary device for controlling my hearing aids However I have to switch off Bluetooth on my iPhone and switch on Bluetooth on my iPad in order to use my hearing aids. It’s pity that it is not seamless across Apple devices. This will go a long way with users with a hearing disability instead of switching from one device to another.

### 1/5 — Would be a great app if it worked!

*2024-12-05*

My Audiologist has been great so far in trying to help me with this… But there’s only so much he or I can do. I’m concerned about the poor performance of this app. If Audibel- Starkey can’t build a good app it makes me wonder about how well my new Vitality AI hearing aids are designed and built…just sayin’. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled this app, paired and unpaired and re-paired my iPhone and aids more times than I can count. I’ve tried it it on my wife’s phone. Briefly…It doesn’t work correctly once it’s sent to the background on the phone; only works correctly when it’s active on the Home Screen. It also kills the ring and notification tones that should be passed from my phone to my new aids. I believe the new aids could potentially be great (I’m still in my 45 day trial period for full reimbursement), but if the app does not function correctly, it’s a no-go on the aids because some of their features cannot be utilized without the app. I’ve submitted a more detailed request to Audibel (Starkey) for help. Let’s see how it goes. I would be glad to give a better review if warranted.

### 1/5 — Drops connection

*2024-11-27, version 3.1.1*

Hope this gets better

### 2/5 — Absolutely pathetic

*2024-11-14, version 3.1.0*

App and hearing aids are absolutely pathetic. In less than two years the hearing aids I’ve been replaced twice and the latest has been repaired once and now the right one is being repaired for a second time. The technician is blaming my body chemistry for the poor performance of the hearing aids. My body chemistry is not causing the app to be so pathetic.

Do not buy these hearing aids and forget about this worthless app

### 1/5 — Update

*2024-09-23, version 3.0.0*

Didn’t work for me either. I have to call my specialist To have him update it. Pretty dumb and I don’t think it is me as I can update anything else that comes up.

### 2/5 — Hearing Aids Don’t Sync

*2024-08-12, version 2.1.0*

I’m using the most recent update on my iPhone, but connection to the app is sporadic. Closing and reopening the app occasionally helps. I’ve even tried restarting the phone to no avail. Deleting the app and reinstalling usually helps, but who wants to do that constantly? Any suggestions? Our hearing aid provider says this is a common glitch. Is a bug fix in the works? It’s frustrating to have a device to hear the tv through my hearing aids and not able to use it. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Unstable

*2024-07-20, version 2.1.0*

This app falls over several times a day. Totally inconvenient if you want to change environmental setting. The app has lots of features and could be really good if it didn’t crash out all the time.

### 1/5 — App crashes

*2024-06-27, version 2.1.0*

My audiologist assured me that this latest rendition of Starkey hearing aids were fantastic and the app would be stable.
Wrong, the app crashes repeatedly and is virtually useless. I’m on my second pair of aids and considering returning them for a refund and going back to my old ones.

### 2/5 — Poor app stability

*2024-04-12, version 2.0.2*

The app seems to crash at regular intervals which is only sometimes rectified by deleting the app then reloading. Very inconvenient because it’s usually the case that I need the app to adjust the hearing aids only to find it’s crashed again.

### 3/5 — Tinnitus Masking

*2024-04-10, version 2.0.2*

This app gives you control over tinnitus setting - which is great BUT the app doesn’t hold the settings throughout the day. Very frustrating!

### 4/5 — Why no watch

*2024-04-01, version 2.0.1*

I’m loving this app. I wish it were on my Apple Watch so I don’t have to reach for my phone every time I need to adjust settings.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Complete Garbage

*2025-06-28, version 4.1.1*

This app is a complete joke! I will not be purchasing Starkey devices every again!!

### 1/5 — App crashes repeatedly

*2025-06-27, version 4.1.1*

Another spectacular fail from Starkey. The app crashes all the time. The hearing aids are fine but all of the extra features offered by the app are useless as it won’t stay running for long enough to do anything. Click translate, app crashes. Click anything, app crashes.

### 1/5 — Can’t connect to app

*2025-05-25, version 4.1.1*

Hearing aids can’t connect to app. No other apple devices and yes the app is up to date.

### 1/5 — The worst

*2025-02-15, version 3.1.1*

I wouldn’t even give this app any stars if I could for as much as I paid for these hearing aids. It’s pathetic that I can’t get it to work. Can’t make calls calls are dropped. It’s just terrible.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-01-24, version 3.1.1*

The app is horrible, keeps saying update and when I click update it just goes back to app and does not update. Any other update that I have done runs smoothly. Also the app does not pick up on both hearing aids. Keeps saying the right one is off and it is clearly working. Not happy with this app

### 1/5 — Would be a great app if it worked!

There are no other devices interfering. Since the Vitality AI aids are supposed to be Auracast and LE Audio compliant I also tried it on a newer iPhone 14, which uses Bluetooth 5.3 (LE Audio compliant Bluetooth) instead of the 5.0 version on my iPhone, thinking that might help, but it does not. Your app is corrupt.

I’ve narrowed it down a bit. The app works fine as long as the tap control is turned off. Turn tap control on and things get “wonky“ if it’s set to access Smart Assistant when you tap. Interestingly enough, the Tap Control, if set to access Edge Mode, even when the app is running in the background, seems to be ok. Set Tap Control back to access Smart Assistant and problems arise again. Unfortunately, Smart Assistant is the feature that would be the most beneficial through Tap Control but that’s a no go until the app is fixed. So I’ve turned Tap Control off. The phone now rings through the aids like it’s supposed to. I can access Edge Mode directly by opening the app. Of course, the Smart Assistant feature is now not available.
Developer- I’ve tried your suggestions. App is flawed. Please fix. 0 stars if I could.

Developer- So frustrated! Tired of explaining all the problems with this app and getting responses blaming interference from my other devices, etc. This app is corrupted in so many ways. Look at the recent reviews.

So now, when in Edge Mode, the alert sounds do not work on my phone. Take the aids out of Edge Mode and put in a regular programmed mode and the alert sounds work.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. The hearing aids do not control weather or not the notifications will activate an audible signal. I'm thinking that your app dysfunction is related to multiple Apple devices on the same wifi and iCloud account. Test how well the app does away from the home.

### 1/5 — Basic

*2024-12-14*

This hearing aid app is basically useless. So surprised that a company like Starkey would put out this garbage for a digital hearing aid.

**Developer response:** Apobro you should work with your Audibel Provider to figure out why you are struggling to hear with the devices. These are one of our best sound hearing aids ever.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — App is more stable now

*2026-04-30, version 6.1.1*

Initially, I was having problems with connectivity issues, but with the latest release, that seems to have been resolved.
I have followed the advice of my audiologist to ensure any app and Apple updates are done in a timely manner and always fully close the app down when not in use.
I love how easy it is to increase the volume of my TV streamer and can’t wait to use this feature more as Auracast is rolled out.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2026-04-26, version 6.1.1*

Love the help and quick response to my hearing aids.

### 5/5 — Great when it works

*2026-04-14, version 6.1.1*

The app is great when it works, which is about 50% of the time I have my hearing aids on. I have had my hearing aids for about 2 months. Whenever I lose Bluetooth connectivity to my iPhone, the only way to reconnect is to place the aids in the charger for a few seconds and then put them back on. This is useless when I am not at home, and inconvenient when I am. Based on instructions within the App I have tried turning Bluetooth off and on, as well turning the phone off and on. Neither of these options have ever worked.

Since doing this review, I was contacted by the folks at Audibel letting me know that they just released an update to the app. I installed it, and everything is working fine now. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Re crashing app

*2024-04-25, version 2.0.2*

Have had the app since last week and have experienced this twice. I found (thanks to my audiologist) that if I just switch my phone off and on again it resets the app. He suggests doing this first thing in the morning each day to stabilise it. I found the app works really well except for this, and hope the Starkey team will overcome the problem with an update soon.

### 5/5 — Best Hearing aid app

This app is great, It is easy to use, and makes the use of my aids much more enjoyable. It allows me to easily adjust my hearing to each environment I’m in.
Needless to say im very happy

### 5/5 — Easy powerful app

*2023-04-01, version 1.0.3*

I love this new app. My hearing aids can do so many things and this app makes it easy to navigate all the features. I love having the ability to use Ai to read my surroundings and clear up the background noise. Love my new Intrigue hearing aids!
