## What is My Block Hand?

What you treated, when you moved them, how many eggs today — written down in seconds, and still there when the vet, buyer or accountant asks.

My Block Hand is a simple farm management and record-keeping app for lifestyle blocks, hobby farms and small farms.

Keep livestock, paddocks, grazing, poultry, breeding, treatments, jobs, reminders and farm finances together in one place — so nothing slips your mind and every decision is backed by your own records.

Built on a working small farm for people who farm before and after work — not for corporate agribusiness.

YOUR ANIMALS, PROPERLY RECORDED
Sheep, cattle, goats, pigs, horses, alpacas, poultry and more - plus your cats and dogs
Full treatment history per animal: drenching, vaccinations, shearing, hoof care and more, with next-due reminders
Drench follow-up reminders 12 days later, so you learn whether your drench still works
Photos, identity and passport details on every record
Exit records - when an animal is sold or otherwise leaves your farm, its full story stays in your history

BREEDING AND PEDIGREE RECORDS
Record breeding by date, or as a date range for when the ram or boar is running with the mob - the app works out the expected-birth window
Enter a confirmed breeding date for a precise due date, with species-correct gestation and milestone timelines
Record a birth straight from a breeding record: each young becomes its own animal, linked to both parents
Build an editable pedigree up to three generations - type in ancestors even if they were never in your herd
Share a branded pedigree or a full animal record - print it or save as PDF from a computer

PADDOCKS AND GRAZING
Rotational grazing with rest-period tracking - know when a paddock is ready
Graze one mob across several paddocks, or strip-graze with a break counter
Draw your own farm map - paddocks, zones and gates
Withholding-period warnings before you move stock onto a treated paddock

POULTRY AND PRODUCTION
Log today's eggs in two taps, track flocks by age in weeks
Incubation batches with candling and hatch-day reminders - chicken, duck and more
Milk, wool and meat production totals, including your processor's records

PETS
Cats and dogs alongside your stock: treatments, registrations and reminders
Season and cycle tracking with an adjustable reminder, plus breeding and due dates for a home-bred litter
JOBS, REMINDERS AND YOUR WEEK
Jobs and seasonal tasks that surface when they're due, with notifications
"This week on your block" - everything due in the next 7 days on one card

LIVESTOCK COMPLIANCE - NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA
NAIT deadlines and movement records built in for New Zealand cattle and deer
NLIS support for Australia - cattle, sheep and goats, with PIC, NLIS ID and movement/NVD records

MONEY AND FEED
Income and expenses tied to your animals and records - sales post the income for you
Feed store: purchases, bags on hand, price per bag and 4-week spend, with low-feed warnings

MADE FOR REAL FARM LIFE
Works offline in the paddock - everything syncs when you're back in coverage
One account on phone, tablet and computer
Share your farm with your household - two logins, one set of records
Your data is yours: full backups, an Excel export from a computer, and complete account and data deletion if you leave

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.7(1) — 2026-09-05

A small correction to something the app was doing too eagerly.

My Block Hand asks whether you'd like to rate it on the App Store. That request was always meant to wait until you'd completed a few reminders — until the app had actually earned the question. A gap in the rules meant it could turn up after your very first one, which is too soon to be a fair thing to ask.

It now waits, the way it was always meant to.

Nothing else has changed in this version. Every record you've made, and where it's kept, is exactly as it was.

### v1.4.6(1) — 2026-09-02

Three things this time.

Units. Weights, rainfall and pasture cover can now show in pounds, inches and acres instead of kilos, millimetres and hectares — Settings, then Units. Leave it on your country's default and nothing changes. Paddock sizes are deliberately untouched: each paddock already has its own unit, and a farm-wide setting shouldn't override a choice you made by hand.

Today's Brief was clipping the right-hand edge of its tiles on narrower phones, so egg counts and cost per egg could lose a digit with no way to scroll to it. Fixed.

New Zealand only: recording a sending or receiving movement under NAIT Compliance now offers to set a reminder to file it. The reminder lands the day after the movement rather than on the 48-hour deadline, so there's still time to do something about it. My Block Hand doesn't submit anything to OSPRI — it keeps the record and reminds you.

### v1.4.5(1) — 2026-09-01

Finding your own town in the weather setup actually works now.

The town search had been searching the whole world and showing the five biggest matches, so a small town that shares its name with somewhere larger never came up at all. Searching "Oxford" gave you Oxford in England and four in the United States - and never Oxford in Canterbury. It now searches your own country first and shows ten matches, and if nothing turns up at home it still searches worldwide, so wherever you farm you can find your patch.

Thank you to the farmer who reported it. He'd given up and picked the nearest town he could find, on the wrong side of the river - which meant he'd been reading somebody else's rain.

Also: every section's help link now names the page it opens, there's a Help Centre in the menu, and the hand-rearing screen points you to the full guides on bottle lambs, goat kids and calves.

### 1.4.4(2) — 2026-08-29

Two things the app should have been doing already.

If you've set up paddocks and animals but have never recorded a herd move, Today's Brief now says so and offers to record the first one. Rest days and grazing history only start counting from that first move — until then the Brief just said there was no grazing data, which was never quite true.

And if you asked for Production tracking when you set the app up, it's now there waiting for you: milk, wool and meat. It used to stay hidden until you'd marked an animal's purpose first, so a lot of people who'd asked for it never found it.

### 1.4.3 (1) — 2026-08-26

Today's Brief now asks for today's eggs.

If you keep laying hens the brief asks every day - whether you logged yesterday or have not logged in a month - and tapping it opens the egg box straight away, with no hunting for it.

Your poultry card now says when today is still unlogged, and if you have not set up a flock yet the app offers to make one instead of stopping.
