The really unbelievably bad news is the trip/journey analysis of fuel consumption and average speed. It stops working at random and cannot be fixed permanently by BMW through dealerships. Why BMW provides a useful (when working) app that is so unstable seems rather stupid but that’s exactly the situation. Buggy app that no longer shows any of my trip history despite it working for 6+ months. ### 2/5 — Missing info *2026-08-04, version 6.7.3* All my logged trips from March 2023 have disappeared despite being prompted to check my latest progress. Why? ### 3/5 — Good But Buggy! *2026-07-31* Will start with what needs fixing and what could improve (India version) A) App doesnt recognise my home charging count in statistics and shows them other “other” category. B) Often sync has issues. Takes hours to update data on app for charging level and location. C) Remote unlock is laggy and often take quite sometime to respond. What could improve A) More settings control in app. B) Option to disable radio auto start when turning car on. It’s annoying. C) Option to disable front collision braking from settings. It has to be manually turned off every time. D) Exceptionally bad siri experience. ### 2/5 — Could’ve been great *2026-07-31, version 6.7.3* The app doesn’t crash easily, which is great. The controls for lighting, windows, maps or any instructions to the car rarely work and is at best delayed. Setting charging time to occur during preferred slots, never works as the car randomly resets to semi random times . Please sort this out, this could be grounds for litigation. There could be so many other readouts. Say mileage, tyre pressure. Setting temperature. Sending maps instructions ahead of a journey alone never works. This app could have been great. ### 1/5 — This app means we regret having a BMW *2026-07-29, version 6.7.3* The app is unreliable. The app refused face recognition, despite working for weeks. I restarted my ‘phone. Still problems. I logged out of the app. On logging back in, all indications of the months of using a BMW has gone. Really, really regretting this wretched experience of using a BMW due to poor quality software. Update: spoke to 2 helpful tech people who’ve had to refer it to a another unit who can “take from 1 to 2 working weeks” to respond. The Financial Times has an article today about Chinese cars with excellent software. Moral: do not touch BMW. Another update: the tech unit came back in just over 24 hours, not the “1 to 2 weeks” noted in an email. They’ve done done stuff at their end. Still didn’t work. We’ve reached the “delete the app and reinstall” stage (which I’d already done.) The reliability of this app and the options to fix a problem feel very Windows 3.0 Meanwhile, there is a bunch of effectively scrap metal labelled “BMW” sitting outside. ### 3/5 — Zzzzz *2026-07-28, version 5.6.3* Great ### 3/5 — X5 40d *2026-07-27, version 6.7.3* Ok ### 4/5 — Great app almost perfect *2026-07-27, version 6.7.3* I got my first BMW last Aug and I love the App much better then my jaguars and more reliable if used correctly it’s a great tool especially for my Electric I4 the reason why not 5 stars is the remote settings for the climate control you can only turn it on and it goes from the last setup you had it on which I most say is poor or lazy from the developer all my other cars that had remote apps you can set the temperature in the app Come BMW let’s get this right. Otherwise excellent ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Type a location for navigation and it brings up my contacts *2026-08-24, version 6.7.5* It’s a car app not Facebook or instagram for goodness sake. ### 1/5 — TechFrustration *2026-08-17, version 6.7.4* The BMW tech constantly gets confused between my and my wife’s profile and even when we have identical profile settings, we find these settings get randomly changed without touching them. Simple example, we set the charging output limit to 10amp on all settings car and app - only to find the car has randomly turned this setting off. There is a new random surprise every day. Today’s surprise - the app has just decided not to sync with the car. The tech is so glitchy it is ridiculous - and its a source of constant frustration. ### 1/5 — Full of bugs *2026-08-07, version 6.7.4* After the update the app has stopped communicating to the car. Doesn’t send locations from app to car anymore. No option to go back either. Would need an immediate fix as I’m more reliant on app locations sent to car which is much easier and practical. ### 1/5 — X2X *2026-08-04, version 6.7.3* VERY DISSATISFIED WITH BMW After several attempts to ask for help from BMW I’m left without access to this app. I found it very useful & used it on a daily basis, now, because of the developers creating the IOS issue I cannot download the app onto my iPhone 7. Had I not Deleted the app & try to reinstall as recommended by BMW I may have been ok. Due to the developers ignoring my pleas to assist me I’m giving a very paltry one star, a minus 2 stars if I could. ### 1/5 — In accessible *2026-08-03, version 6.7.3* This app is in accessible to a VoiceOver user on an iPhone. It is truly a disaster for anyone who uses VoiceOver and cannot be used for the majority of its functions. This is the only way I've been able to provide feedback. I was recommended by BMW support to delete the app then reinstall from the App Store as the issue had been resolved. I cannot download the app as I’m not IOS compatible.
