I understand charging for some features of an app, but when I downloaded this “free” app to keep track of what books I have. But you need to pay for premium or for “tokens” in order to scan books which feels misleading. Making the app useless unless you pay up. I was going to consider paying for the premium once I found out if I liked the app or not because the cost is reasonable and I have a lot of books to keep track of but I can’t even throughly test if I like the app. **Developer response:** Fair criticism. Adding, organizing and searching your library is free and unlimited, including entering books by hand. What is metered is barcode scanning and the AI features. That split is clear once you are inside the app and not at all clear on the way in, which is our problem to fix rather than yours to discover after downloading. ### 3/5 — Ehhhh it’s not bad *2026-05-24, version 18.2* Sucks that you have to pay for this app to be functional, but it’s the most aesthetically pleasing app I’ve found SO FAR. The newest update deleted all my tags, and there’s no way for me to take a tag off a book without deleting it, so that’s annoying. You can’t rearrange books, which you would think would be an easy thing to implement, but maybe one day. I haven’t had any scanning problems so far like others, but I’ll definitely come back if I experience it. If you want a completely free app, this isn’t for you, but if you’re willing to pay a lil a month for ease OR until you find a better app, it’s not bad. ### 2/5 — Missing covers *2025-10-10* Recently updated the app and now so many of my books don’t have covers available, ones that previously did show a cover **Developer response:** Thank you for reporting this, and we are truly sorry. Watching covers you already had disappear after an update is exactly the sort of thing that makes an app feel untrustworthy, and you were right to say so. Since you wrote this the app has been rebuilt from the ground up, cover fetching included, so please do give it another try. I’ve even taken photographs of the covers, but the app will not add. Please advise **Developer response:** Thank you for asking, and we are sorry for the missing covers. Six books in a row without one is not a coincidence, and being unable to use your own photographs instead makes it worse. Since you wrote this the app has been rebuilt from the ground up, cover fetching included, so please do try those titles again. Thank you for staying with it. ### 4/5 — Great app – but no apparent way to add more contacts *2025-02-24* This application has all the features one would like – but unfortunately, once one has entered selected contacts from one’s address book, it seems to be impossible to add anymore. There also doesn’t seem to be a help page anywhere. **Developer response:** Thank you for such a considered review. Both points are fair: being able to add contacts once and never again is clearly a bug, and the absence of any help page leaves you to guess, which is not a reasonable thing to ask. Not recommended. ### 3/5 — Really like this app… *2025-02-13* I really enjoy using this app, I have been using it for years and been tracking my growing collection with glee. However the constant popups asking for me to subscribe are rather annoying and I am considering changing applications to track my book collection. **Developer response:** Thank you for years of using the app, and for telling us the thing that is about to drive you away rather than just leaving. Constant subscription prompts aimed at someone who has been a loyal user for years are a self-inflicted wound, and you are right to be irritated. The app has since been rebuilt from the ground up. Seriously. That’s just a money scheme. There are free apps that have the same concept that work just as good. Logged in today and it’s all blank. Not impressed **Developer response:** Thank you for telling us, and we are so sorry for the fright. Sixty books is a lot of reading to think you have lost. The good news is that your library is stored on your account rather than only on the device, so it is very likely still there: if you had been using the app without signing in, those books sit under the guest profile rather than under the account you signed into. Thank you for your patience with this. ### 1/5 — Quality of options *2026-01-16* I tried the quiz part of this app to try it for a book I already read and it was very inaccurate. It asks about the main character and doesn’t even list it as an option and it you click out of it and try again it generates different names that are still wrong. If you are getting this to review books, I suggest you to find another app. But if you ask for a summary it gives the right name. **Developer response:** Thank you for trying the quiz and for describing exactly how it failed, which is far more useful to us than a star rating on its own. You are right that a quiz which does not list the main character among its options is worse than no quiz at all, and we are sorry it wasted your time. The friends list is weird and won’t let me friend some people. It stopped counting my books around 400. The newest update ruined my book list, got rid of most my covers. It’s glitching so badly. I have used the app for over a year and logged well over 600+ books and I’m devastated that it stopped working. ### 1/5 — DO NOT UPDATE!! *2025-10-03, version 13.1* I am furious. I wouldn’t mind this but the basic data for various books wasn’t available on their system. It also kept trying to get me to upgrade to the subscription service. This popped up about every 30 seconds. I couldn’t even finish trying to figure out the app, because it constantly popped up. So a monthly ridiculous fee to use a store purchase site. I can just buy direct via Amazon at that point, as that is what they used to populate the data anyway. Good app to know what books you own/ or read . Scans barcodes and downloads covers and detail of the book . You can mark Read / To read etc , Add tags to collections. I bought the unlimited scanning and scanner feature. It’s a one time fee. I love the app for being able to choose how I view the books and how easy it is to download books.
