### 3/5 — Good but...

*2012-10-07, version 2.4*

I use the app a lot but with recent iOS updates I have noticed bugs and problems (can no longer view in app photos for one) and no real way to contact the company that I've seen. Minor complaints but still would be nice to see them fixed. Aside from those issues tho, the app is quite sound and I would recommend it.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2012-09-11, version 2.4*

I really like this app it allowed for excellent note taking and detail. The only thing I would suggest is to allow your receipes to be downloaded to a word/excel file to print. Other than that I love the cost tracker and how organized and user friendly this app is.

### 3/5 — Crashes often

*2012-05-28, version 2.4*

Seems to crash when you add multiple timers for multiple steps. Twitter and Facebook integration cause the app to crash everytime you try to link your accounts.

### 3/5 — Not bad but not amazing

*2012-03-18, version 2.4*

It's ok but very basic. Crashes when authorising Facebook integration and needs to support multiple hop types.

Multiple timers are a nice touch though.

### 3/5 — Good app

*2012-02-10, version 2.4*

Very helpful app, only downside is every time I try to enable the Facebook extension the app crashes. I recommend this app to any homebrew enthusiast.

### 3/5 — Good but...

*2011-11-16, version 2.4*

Pretty good app for every home brewer who wants to keep their recipes. Thé only thing is that there are no place for the malt or any additives neither quantities. You should also make that you can put more than one row of hop. Putting a couple Of recipes would be good for beginners too. Correct those little things and I'll give you five stars plus recomend it to all my fellow homebrewers!

### 4/5 — Perfect beginners HB app

*2011-10-31, version 2.4*

It's really easy to use. The alcohol calc is handy.

Please add a way to back up recipes to a server. The last iOS 5 upgrade wiped out everything on my phone and I lost 10 months of precious recipes.

On a side note, after losing everything on my phone, the only thing I miss are the photos and those recipes.

### 4/5 — Great

*2011-06-27, version 2.2*

All good
Great app for recording brews
Missing a few things
It could also be used to record wines and ciders, that homebrewers do, could also ask for recipe for all grain brews, and wine recipes, so old recipes can be re done if wanted
But a good app all the same

### 3/5 — decent for logging

*2010-09-13, version 0*

This app seems ok for logging your brews. However, it doesn't really do much to help the process the way beersmith (still waiting for iphone app) or brewpal does.

### 4/5 — Nice app

*2010-01-09, version 0*

Handy little app to help you track your brews. However needs metric units option

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Save your money for beer

*2015-07-31, version 3.0.1*

All this app is is an IBU calculator and notepad.
You cannot add recipes, wow this thing is trash.

### 1/5 — Upgraded and broken

*2013-10-15, version 3.0*

I upgraded to the new version and any button I click instantly quits the app

### 1/5 — Buggy, loses data

*2013-08-26, version 2.5.1*

I have been using My Brew for years and have a dozens of brews under my belt.

I don't mind the limited feature set, but the UI is confusing and does not follow any standards (eg. Cancel is how you return to the main screen when you are done with edits).

I don't think the developer is actively supporting the app but it is stable and reliable.

### 1/5 — Save your money

*2012-09-01, version 2.4*

I am sorry for the low rating but I found this app to be almost useless. I would not recommend this app. You can not build any kit recipes and there are no preloaded ingredients of any kind. It is 95% fluff. You would be better off recording your brews on a notepad

### 1/5 — Pretty useless

*2012-07-21, version 2.4*

Very basic. Not much more that a glorified notepad. No option to put in multiple hop additions or list your grains at all, so unless you are using a kit, this app is next to useless. Use beersmith on your pc instead.

### 1/5 — Good start

*2009-12-16*

This is a good start, but has a few bugs and seems incomplete in some ways. The ability to include photos is cool, but the app crashed twice while loading pics from my camera roll. Also it would be cool if the zoom feature were supported. I'm not sure what the app is trying to be. You can log your yeast, but none of the other ingredients. You can calculate ABV/ABW (although the numerical input is a phone keypad and doesn't let you type a decimal point), but you can't calculate anything else. What's the point of that? And the supplier URL field is a bit unnecessary unless there's an option for multiple URLs. I'd like to see an option for 'partial mash' along with 'extract' and 'all grain' too. Basically if it became a little more of a recipe calculator this would be a killer app and worth the price. As it is well, hopefully future updates will address these issues.

### 2/5 — No grain/hops bill?

*2011-03-20, version 2.2*

There isn't anywhere to add a grain/hops bill...just a text field for hops. Pretty worthless if you ask me. I did like the entry to add the brew you were drinking while brewing each batch, though.

### 3/5 — Great for kit brewers!

*2014-06-19, version 3.0.1*

I love my kit brews and this app is a great logging tool, especially the picture function, but it needs some additions to make it more well rounded.

The following fields need to be added:
1) Brewing Sugar Type & amount
2) Room for at least one more additional Gravity reading between pitching & bottling/kegging with date
3) Temperature & Bix fields for each Gravity reading
4) Extract name, amount, & can expiry by date

Another great feature would be to give us a way to export the database so we can use this on multiple iDevices without having to re-enter everything.

### 3/5 — Good app.

*2013-02-11, version 2.5.1*

Like the app. Was looking for something that would also count down you fermentation processes.

### 3/5 — Nice addition

*2012-11-08, version 2.5.0*

Not a bad app, portable reference. The timers are handy. Nice to add pictures to go selling with your brew. Overall a good addition to your homebrew toolbox

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good brew tracking for multiple batches

*2015-01-13, version 3.0.1*

I'm using the app to track multiple batches, including 1batch of wine. Still new to the game of brewing but this app is exactly what I was looking for.

### 5/5 — Must have!

*2014-01-28, version 3.0.1*

If you want to keep a good record of pretty much every detail of your brews this is perfect. Very well made

### 5/5 — EXCELLENT APP!!

*2013-01-16, version 2.5.0*

In my opinion, this is a great app and very useful. Customizable timers are outstanding! I also really like to 'notes' section. With this you can record everything you've done from boil day to drinking day, beats writing it down in a notebook because you always have it with you and can duplicate previous brews at your fingertips. Fantastic customer service!!! I found a small issue regarding being able to add a reminder date on my phone calendar for secondary and bottling days. Received a reply email within 5 hours letting me know that is being taken care of. Can't beat that kind of service. Thanks guys and keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — BeerGirl

*2011-02-26, version 2.2*

Best home brew app out there, and by far the easiest to use. 15 brews and no problems here.

### 5/5 — Add a "PERIOD"

*2011-02-26, version 2.2*

Great app but can you add a " PERIOD" for the gallons? I like to make 2.13 - 2.5 gallons so a simple period would be nice so it doesn't read as 213 gallons.

UPDATE: Thank you for adding the simple period. Again, this is a great App. It's simple and easy and these guys listen to feedback and fix the problems and that's rare! Thanks again! :)

### 5/5 — Update

*2011-02-26, version 0*

The new update makes it better than before. Love the period for gallon measurements, it takes out the common sense for the user. Who really homebrews 235 gallons at a time??Still the easiest app for brewing out there!!!

### 5/5 — Great for any home brewer

*2009-12-03, version 0*

I love that it figures out the alc% for you

### 4/5 — Great app. Couple more features would be good

*2017-10-19, version 3.1.0*

Great app. Added feature of what brewing sugar was used and adding a fee text title for storage, example keg 1, keg 2 etc

### 4/5 — Good Job

*2014-01-17, version 3.0.1*

I like this App. It works well and calculating the ABV and calories is really helpful. One thing that would make it better would be to add an other ingredients list under the Hops. I use the notes area to do this now.

### 4/5 — Pretty good app

*2012-10-15, version 2.4*

This is a pretty good app that does a good job of calculating ABV/ABW. My only suggestion is to add a selection to change ingredients from a URL to a free-form list. The URL is only useful to people using kits. Those of us who are all grain brewers have no use for it.
