Always shows i started driving while I’m staying at my home. Many braking event recorded while not braking at all. It’s an app to reduce your insurance discount. ### 1/5 — Many flaws *2023-08-24* The biggest issue with this app is that it records when you are in someone else’s vehicle. When this happens , you have to go into the app and tell it that you weren’t driving but the trip details still remain on your account. This is not right and needs to be addressed. I am fairly new to this app and already it is showing signs of a problem. It is highly likely that I will be switching companies next year. Unless you leave your phone at home or turn it off it will record you. Not very safe if you were in an accident and needed to use it to call for help you would have to wait to turn your phone on before calling for help. This is a big issue and needs attention immediately I am editing my review to include it’s inaccurate information on harsh braking. It says I had a harsh break and it shows half way in between streets where no brakes would be used. I am completely frustrated. This app has major flaws and only really serves to aggravate you. If it can just record anything it wants at will, then it isn’t going to be useful in calculating discounts if it just randomly inputs information. It is highly likely that I will switch insurance companies if it can’t actually measure what you do. What’s the point of the app then ### 1/5 — Garbage app! *2023-07-10* The most garbage app i have ever downloaded on my phone. I only was able to create a trial account which was initially suggested by the insurance broker(Scoop), and they eventually increased my premium because the account was not created! ### 1/5 — Not accurate *2023-04-23* It displays harsh breaking. Went back to check dash cam and of course no breaks let alone harsh breaking. ### 1/5 — Misleading *2023-03-08* Echoing many of the other reviews on this app, it is not reliable and their reports are worthless. Final discount does not take in to consideration the entire period of tracking and basic math shows that their calculations are incorrect. I requested a detailed report of how my final discount was calculated after it dropped down to 10% for no apparent reason in the final period. The report was emailed to me a few days later with a very brief “explanation” that it was the speeding and harsh breaking events that caused the drop. A simple analysis of the events and comparison from each of the reporting periods clearly shows that there was no reason for the drop in discount however they refuse to acknowledge that. Very disappointed. ### 1/5 — Scam *2023-01-17, version 5.1.0 (925)* Used this garbage for the full 180 days. Started off with a 17% discount which went down to a 15% discount then eventually a 0% discount. I never sped either. ### 1/5 — Other reviews are right *2023-01-11, version 5.1.0 (925)* It’s not a coincidence it has such bad ratings. Awful app in every way. Prepare to drive as carefully as you can then watch as random “infractions” show up. Want to use hands free Siri to change a song? Well, that’s considered a “phone usage”. Got to your destination and want to use your phone? You’ll need to wait upwards of 30 minutes before the app figures out the driving trip stopped otherwise… you’re using your phone while driving. Hard braking? These will show up randomly on however the app felt that day. Went 2 months without any hard braking, then all of a sudden I had 6 in one day. Can’t wait to delete this app and switch insurance companies. ### 1/5 — It doesn’t work at all *2022-11-08, version 4.7.1 (897)* It has been installed for a year on my phone and the company sent me letter stating that I’m not using the phone. ### 1/5 — Garbage *2022-09-23, version 4.7.1 (897)* This app sucks. Much of the time it fails to track. When it does work, it shows harsh braking when there was no brakes being applied. The app switches itself off and when I tried to log back in, it took three days for the text message to arrive with the verification code. I placed the phone in the centre console of my truck and it slipped while I was driving. The app then records that movement of the phone as ‘phone usage’. I never even touched the phone, let alone used it. There has to be a better app the insurance company can develop to helps its customers save money. This app is dismal, absolute garbage. ### 1/5 — Designed to make you look bad *2022-09-03, version 4.7.1 (897)* Just started using this app I am continually told that I used my iPhone while driving. NOT TRUE! Aprox 1-2 min after you start driving, the app sends a notification to your phone informing you that your trip has started. Apparently the nyifcstion automatically registers as a phone usage event! WOW!!! Not good! ### 1/5 — 100% Inaccurate and 100% Unreliable *2022-08-25, version 4.7.1 (897)* WHY in the world should we be penalized for reacting from other people driving poorly? Should we not hit our brakes if people aren’t paying attention and just cut you off? Or should we just keep on driving if young stupid drivers decides to just carelessly drive in font of you? These are the 2 experiences I had that led to 2 harsh braking feedbacks! Pembridge is quick to notify you of your fault without knowing the exact facts! In my opinion, this program is unfair, inaccurate, and unreliable. They should suspend this program until vast improvements are made. ### 1/5 — Misleading or False notification *2022-08-05, version 4.7.1 (897)* I am not on a trip and I am not inside my vehicle, I am at home and my vehicle is parked, still gives me a notification “trip has started xxxxx address “. And we hit on the notification it say “please wait Trip processing in progress “ ### 1/5 — Worst !! *2022-07-07, version 4.7.1 (897)* Keeps logging out every few days and doesn’t track properly. ### 1/5 — Useless *2022-07-04, version 4.7.1 (897)* DO NOT GET INSURANCE WITH PEMBRIDGE!!!Got my insurance with pembridge and had to download this app to get discount but never got any. Pembridge insurance company and this app is so messed up!!!! Wish I could give no star. ### 1/5 — Apple Car Play *2022-06-15, version 4.7.1 (897)* Apparently Apple Car Olay causes issues with reporting and destroys my driving score. I’m told the issue is being looked at, but In the interim my score is now at 0% because of hard breaking events occurring while driving in the highway…. ### 1/5 — Worst app *2022-06-10, version 4.7.1 (897)* I have Waze running in the background while I drive and it considers this phone usage. It records a driving trip but while I take my dog for a walk. Also, it records my driving trips about 10 minutes after I started driving. If my insurance rate is based on my driving, maybe the app should actually function as it’s supposed to. ### 1/5 — Poor app *2022-04-09, version 4.5.2* Not worth a star. This app requires that you have tracking on 24/7 for it to work. I never let an app track 24/7 due to privacy and security concerns. Either download this garbage app or pay the extra in insurance, what a disgrace. The tracking is horrendous, you’ll notice the first 10-11 months will say the discount is active and your driving is perfect, once the 11th month hits all the sudden I’m the worst driver in the world. The apps a scam, you can do everything right but before renewal it’ll switch and say you lost the discount. Absolute joke of a system. Insurance companies will always continue to scam people. I’d rate 0 stars if I could ### 1/5 — SCAM discount *2025-07-13* 10% discount is not guarantied. more on a collective data and a scam. don’t expect to get 10% discount bcoz you wont. ### 1/5 — Metrics on this app are terrible *2024-11-20* The app is designed in such a way where the metrics are always going to be pegged against you. I for example, did six trips out of 120 odd trips during what they consider “high risk times” 11 pm to 4 am while keeping all my other scores near perfect. They cut my insurance discount down from 25% to 10%. You are going to always be up against the system that does not put true weight on the drivers habits. They told me don’t drive during that time, okay? Should I not be dinged or rewarded on my driving habits rather than external factors? Make it make sense. ### 1/5 — 👎 The dumbest app ever made👎 *2024-01-21* Here's the revised version: "This app is incredibly flawed and I strongly advise against using it. 👎 It erroneously flags you for phone use even when you're simply sitting in your car, warming it up in a parking lot or even in your own home garage! The other day, my wife asked me to stop by a store to pick up something. While I was waiting for her in the store parking lot, I checked the voicemail on my phone. To my surprise, the app flagged me for using the phone in a parked car. How ridiculous is that? Furthermore, this app poses a significant safety hazard for drivers. It discourages drivers from using their brakes to avoid being flagged for braking. It even encourages drivers to run yellow lights, ignore stop signs, and disregard crosswalks. In winter, this app becomes even more disastrous. 👎" ### 1/5 — Not good *2023-11-03* Using siri is phone use, if I takeout my phone from my pocket but not open it its phone use if I get a low battery message while using maps if I close it it counts as phone use. This is stupid I have to get a new phone just to use google maps because my car is old and dose not have map screen. ### 1/5 — Completely useless tracker *2023-10-19* If you want an app that makes up routes and shows you doing u-turns at random intersections along with random braking events when you are actually accelerating then this is probably an ideal fit for you. ### 1/5 — Draining battery *2023-09-13* I have downloaded this app and have noticed shape decline in my phones battery backup. It’s draining my battery on a very fast pace. My work makes to be on move for extended hours and charging phone is not feasible every time. ## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Works great, got a 30% discount! *2024-03-19* We saw all the bad reviews and were a bit concerned, but it seems like everything worked great! 8 hard breaks in the entire 6 month period and no speeding. I think the biggest factor is the time you drive though. It explains everything in the app and how it contributes to your discount and it all made sense. Also, we got in a non-at-fault accident and pembridge was good to work with. Overall very happy with this app and company, cheapest insurance we could find for our age! It does flag phone use a bit too much, but it says that does not effect the discount so it’s fine with me. ### 5/5 — Good App to save on insurance. *2021-06-07, version 4.2.0* If you are a good driver this app will reward you. I just completed my 6 month of being tracked and finished with a 30% discount. I received a 15% policy discount upfront on the condition I am tracked for 6 months. If my driving is poor I can loose the 15% but if it’s good I receive up to 30% discount on next years renewal. The app makes you lose points for hard breaking, speeding and driving after midnight and before 4am. I had no speeding kilometres 7 breaking events and no driving time during high rush times (12-4am) This app is good for you if you have a good vehicle that does not break too hard often and drive properly with no speeding. Tip, you don’t need to give this permission to “always” just set it to when using. The rest weren’t recorded. Also at the top of the screen when it’s open, it says check internet connection, and well I obviously don’t have internet cause I’m driving.
