## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7 — 2026-08-23

1.7 — Report your month in one tap.

NEW: MONTHLY BUSINESS REPORT
• One report, one period. Your total business income, total expenses and net profit for a single month — the figures you need when you have to report your trading month to someone else, such as a Universal Credit claim.
• Built for real assessment periods. Set the day of the month your period starts — the 6th to the 5th, say — then tap "This period" or "Last period". No more stitching two calendar months together by hand.
• Every expense itemised. Each expense in the period with its date, vendor and category, and recurring ones clearly marked, so you can see at a glance that nothing is missing before you submit.
• Counted on a cash basis. Income is counted when the payment actually arrived, not when the invoice was raised. Print or save the whole report in a tap.

FIXES
• Records could go missing. If the app's storage filled up, a new entry could look saved but be gone when you reopened the app — recurring expenses were hit hardest, because they post several at once. The app now frees space automatically and tells you plainly whenever something cannot be saved, instead of failing quietly.
• Editing a recurring expense could post its entire history a second time and inflate your totals. It no longer does. If you have edited one before now, it is worth a quick scan of your expense list for duplicates.
• Expense reports could miss an entry dated on the very first day of the range you picked. Every day in the range is now included.
• The menu button no longer sits on top of your company logo when the sidebar is open.

### 1.6 — 2026-07-22

1.6 — Free 30-day trial, simple plans.

• Try everything free for 30 days — every feature unlocked, no card, no sign-up.
• Then choose what suits you: £1.99 a month, £19.99 a year (two months free), or £29.99 once for lifetime access. Payment through Apple; Restore purchases moves your plan to a new device.
• Already a user? You keep full access, free, forever — thank you for being here early.
• Never locked out. If the trial ends before you decide, everything stays viewable and exportable — you just can't edit until you pick a plan.

### 1.5 — 2026-06-19

v1.5.0 — a banking-themed release

  1. Your bank's export is more likely to "just work" — HSBC header-less files, Nationwide/Barclays/Santander preamble, Santander's block-text export, Excel byte-order marks, semicolon/tab files, 14-Mar-24 dates, DR/CR markers — plus the Lloyds/Halifax/TSB sign fix.
  2. Pick the right account when you import — the new import-card account picker.
  3. Transfers between your own accounts are handled properly — auto-detected, marked as a Transfer, kept out of profit/expenses/VAT.

### 1.4 — 2026-06-04

1.4 — Business documents, generated from your details.

  • New Documents section. Create contracts, NDAs, licences and engagement letters from professional, ready-to-use templates — without leaving the app.
  • Filled in for you. Pick a document type and a client and it arrives pre-populated with your business name and address, the client's details and today's date, pulled from the same records as your invoices.
  • Yours to edit. Every document opens in a full editor, so you can change any wording — the template gets you most of the way, the rest is up to you. Regenerate from the template any time.
  • Manage the whole set. Save as draft or final, archive what you're finished with, and delete with a Deleted tab to restore from. Each document keeps its own reference number and history.
  • Preview, PDF and email. Check the laid-out document, then export a PDF or send it to your client — the same share-and-print flow as your invoices.
  • Clear and honest. The app reminds you that these are self-help templates, not legal advice, and should be reviewed by a qualified professional before you rely on them.
  • More on the way. Tap "Add templates" to import extra document packages - they sit alongside the built-in ones. You download a file and import it; nothing is fetched in the background, so your data stays on your device as always.

### 1.3 — 2026-05-21

What's new in Business Dashboard

New: Bank reconciliation
Bank statement import has grown into a proper reconciliation workflow. Every line you review is now persisted as a 'bank transaction' so the app can answer two questions an accountant always asks: "which bank lines have been accounted for?" and "which book entries have no bank line behind them?"

- Re-importing is safe. Lines from a statement you've already brought in are detected by a content hash and skipped, so importing an overlapping range never doubles anything up.
- The link goes both ways. Marking an invoice paid from a bank line, or matching a debit to an existing expense, stamps a reference on the book record. The reconciliation view can jump in either direction.
- Unlinking is reversible. Clicked the wrong invoice for a payment?
Hit 'Unlink' on the row — the bank line stays on file (so it won't re-prompt on the next import) but is freed for re-matching.
- CSV export of the active date range, with bank line + linked book record on a single row. Opens cleanly in Excel, QuickBooks, Xero or any spreadsheet tool.

New: Statement close-out and sign-off
For each statement period your bank sends you, you can now formally close out the reconciliation. Click 'Close out a period' in the new Statements panel:

1. Enter the period dates and the bank's reported closing balance.
2. The live preview shows the running balance computed from your transactions — Opening · Movements · Computed closing — and the 'variance' against what the bank says.
3. Close when the variance is £0.00, or override it with a note (e.g. "Cheque #112, cleared next month").

Closed periods lock the included bank lines — accidental edits or unlinks are refused with a clear pointer to unlock the period first. Drafts can be resumed across sessions, so a mid-month-end interruption no longer means re-keying everything.

A 'tie-out report' CSV is one click away: one row per statement, oldest first, with opening / closing / variance / sign-off date. This is the artifact your accountant actually wants to keep on file.

New: Multiple bank accounts
If you have more than one business account i.e.current + savings + joint each can now be tracked independently. The reconciliation view's header has a dropdown selector with '+ Add new account…' and a 'Manage' button for renaming, archiving and restoring.

- Per-account opening balances, sort codes and account-number tails (last 4 digits only — full numbers are never stored).
- Per-account dedupe: the same transaction on a different account isn't treated as a duplicate.
- Per-account close-out: you can have a draft statement open on Savings while a closed statement on Business is locked.
- Archiving an account hides it from the view but preserves every historic bank line and statement that references it — restore at any time without losing history.

Expense categories — now editable
The expense category list used to be hard-coded. It's now fully editable: add new categories, rename existing ones, remove ones you don't use — from a **Manage** link next to the Category field in any expense form. Changes propagate everywhere the list is used (expense tracker, recurring schedules, expense filters, bank-import dropdown). Renaming a category also updates every existing expense that used the old name.

Behind the scenes
- Fixed a latent bug where bank-import's *learned vendor → category map* was being silently wiped on every Store mutation. Your accumulated classifications now actually persist across sessions.
- Bank import writes are now all routed through the unified Store (previously some paths went via the legacy storage key directly), so invoice paid-status and freshly-created expenses appear instantly in every view that listens for changes.
