### 3/5 — Design system improvement needed

*2022-08-20, version 3.7.1*

Development team needs to revisit their design system to reflect new phones as my iPhone 12 back button is way to close to the top of the header.

### 2/5 — Not the app I used to know

*2022-07-14, version 3.7.1*

Finally redownloaded after years of not using it. This new version is *not* optimized for iPhone 13 screens, the top and bottom UI clash with the native IOS buttons and make them incredibly annoying to tap. More simplistic view of events associated with each park but it seems like either they cut down on events or things are missing. Also miss classes at each park buildings being listed. App feels chopped up, not redesigned.

### 3/5 — Not as useful as I was hoping

*2021-11-04, version 3.4.0*

I was hoping that in addition to general events, I would be able to log into this app to keep track of the classes my family signs up for. It’s probably useful if you want to see what’s going on in the parks, but if you use the park district for more than the free events, it’s not as helpful as it could be.

### 2/5 — Missing key element to make useful

*2019-07-05, version 2.8.9*

I downloaded this due to an upcoming visit by a pal with kids. I’m trying to help plan a great visit. While I can search by date, I have no way of knowing if the events are anywhere near me without clicking on each item of possible interest. There should be a way to easily identify future events within preferred locations (without having to know the names of the parks). This would increase the apps usability significantly and help expose people who don’t often use the parks to the wide offerings available. I hope this functionality is added soon.

### 2/5 — Not enough info

*2017-03-13, version 1.4.1*

I was disappointed to see that this only had listings for special park district events--no information about the actual parks themselves. It all looks good but lacks vital info.

### 4/5 — Good start, needs some features

*2016-08-06, version 1.1.8*

Overall this is very useful for finding events around town. There are a couple bugs that need to be worked out - often when you click on a park in the map the events don't show up. But the biggest feature I'd like to see in the future would be a 'My parks' section where I could save the parks near me that I visit and then filter results by that list instead of researching parks one at a time. It would also be nice to filter both by park and category at the same time.

### 3/5 — Good Start

*2015-07-04, version 1.0.3*

I enjoy summers in Chicago. There are so many exciting and free events happening. I only see the movies in the park schedule. It would be nice to include all the free events taking place in Chicago. For an example, including the Dancing in the Park schedule & the festivals.

### 3/5 — How are points added?

*2015-07-02, version 1.0.2*

It is not clearly explained how points are added. There's no check-in button. I was at the Welles Park this Tuesday for the concert and I opened the app but it didn't seem to do anything.

There is also not a support email to send this kind of question, App Support just bring you to the website. So I am writing this in the Review section.

### 3/5 — Error pops up when logging in

*2015-05-19, version 1.0.0*

The app is good (for the most part), but I keep getting an error message when I try logging in with My Parks Points username and password. Fix it, please!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2019-04-07, version 2.3*

Not useful for seeing what day camps or ongoing activities events are located near me. I uninstalled it.

### 1/5 — Cruel & Unusual Links=Punishment

*2018-08-15, version 1.7.7*

Why have links in your app that are screwy? As some man pointed out to me, late last night as I futilely wandered the park, 500-5700 N Lake Shore Drive is NOT AN ADDRESS! Why on earth have a live link to nowhere? That is just CRUEL! REMOVE IT! FIX IT! Why leave sloppy crap on your app? This is not your first season. There’s no excuse for this. The fact that other park link addresses are accurate actually makes it worse, because the public trusts you at this point. If you have an event at the Historical Museum, LINK THE ADDRESS OF THE HISTORICAL MUSEUM!!!!! Jeez.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2018-08-14, version 1.7.7*

No way to see a list of facilities and what they offer

### 1/5 — Won't open

*2018-04-28, version 1.6.25*

After the update the app won't open, all you see is that it just keeps loading

### 1/5 — Not ready for usage

*2018-04-02, version 1.6.0*

A lot of bugs, it’s impossible to use. Even simplest and must have features don’t work.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Show Much

*2018-03-23, version 1.6.0*

Very disappointed as it doesn’t show any events. I’ve tried refreshing it and only gives me one event for the month.

### 1/5 — Nothing on the app!

*2017-09-20, version 1.5.2*

What's the point of this app if they don't put the events on it? Totally useless.

### 1/5 — Erases saved events

*2017-07-16, version 1.5.1*

This used to be a great app. Current version, however, has a major bug. It erases everything I've added to "My Events". I've saved a bunch of events at least three times now, and then when I go back into the app again a day or two later, it tells me I have no saved events. Infuriating.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2017-01-26, version 1.3.2*

The current update has rendered this app useless. It does not show any events and promote a park district store. I am looking for a new update to fix this problem

### 1/5 — Extremely buggy. Nonworking with iOS 9

*2015-10-08, version 1.0.6*

See title.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Will miss one of my most used apps!

*2023-09-08*

..

### 5/5 — Wonderful App

*2019-04-23, version 2.3*

Great app to find shows, movies and events near my location !!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-05-10, version 1.6.25*

This app is amazing at the summer time. Obviously Chicago wouldn’t have events at parks in the cold winter. Which is when the other reviewer was looking in this app

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2017-06-27, version 1.5.1*

This app is extremely well done and helped me identify events for my family that otherwise would have gone unknown to me. Not sure why I didn't download it earlier!

### 5/5 — Really useful!

*2015-10-06, version 1.0.6*

This is a really great app, especially for navigating the different summer & fall parks events throughout the city. Especially great if you're looking for a summer movie or 'night out in the parks' event to go to. A 'must have' if you're an adventurous Chicagoan!

### 5/5 — I love it and you will too!!

*2015-08-30, version 1.0.5*

As a freshman at UIC, I definitely want to find ways to spend my time when I'm not doing work, volunteering, or hanging out with friends. This app is awesome because it lets you know just how active the city is, and how many activities are available. Lots of them are free if not super cheap which makes it even more awesome. I will definitely be using this app a lot and I encourage anyone else with similar interests to do so as well. Best wishes Future Self :D

### 5/5 — So useful!

*2015-06-16, version 1.0.1*

I'm terrible at remembering events happening in Chicago so it's really handy to have all of them in the palm of my hand! Being a pretty broke college kid, events in parks are the main way my friends and I plan to spend the summer

### 5/5 — It's Summer Time in Chicago!

*2015-05-18, version 1.0.0*

This app is so much more convenient then the magazine from last year! I'm really looking forward to using it to navigate all the fun opportunities this summer!

### 4/5 — Useful!

*2022-09-17, version 3.7.1*

Does what I wanted: shows me what is happening in the parks, where they are, and on what day.
Could it have more features and a slicker interface? Sure, but this is a free app put out by the parks district, and considering that I am actually quite impressed with how good it is.
Recommended.

### 4/5 — Wish it worked on iPad too

*2016-08-20, version 1.2.2*

Really nice little app, wished it worked better on an iPad. Having to flip my iPad to vertical to view the iPhone only app is a pain when I keep it in a keyboard case. Other than that, it is nice to find events going on at all the Chicago parks.
