The haptics are excellent, and the controls have been so fine-tuned it just feels like using an original iPod. I think it could do with a few more imaginative music sorting features and filters to elevate it above the original iPod. There are no coverflow options at all. What I find more than a little rude (I've never seen this from an app before) is having to pay £3 in the first place for it, but still having a 'get pro' menu item permanently irritating you on the main menu. Come on! You shouldn’t do that… either respect your paying customers by at least hiding it in settings, or give it to users for free + paywalled features + ‘get pro’ menu item. The paywalled features are a strange choice anyway. Not exactly sure what I paid for. Unless I am missing something I saw no perceptible difference from the free version. Otherwise it would be cool if there was a sort by “Album Artists” option, a shuffle songs within an album or playlist option, and in cover flow it displayed the album artist name as well as the album title. ### 4/5 — Very Good *2025-09-20* Awesome! For an app that you already had to pay for I find it ridiculous that you’d even ask for a subscription, but that wouldn’t even be so bad if it didn’t pop up CONSTANTLY! I donated just to support the developer. It’s great how it is, but other skins would be a great addition. ### 4/5 — Nearly perfect so far! *2025-07-12, version 3.10* I love this app. There are two devices, and I am super in favor of the “classic 2008 MP3 player”. I actually replaced my Apple music app with it on the Home Screen just because of how good it is. One bug I did notice is that sometimes the covers in the slideshow preview on the right will rapidly flicker instead of slowly fade. Hope that gets fixed. Wishlist: +Add Podcasts and Books (audio books) support to the 2008 MP3 player. +Add the classic 2008 MP3 player games (Breakout, Snake I think, etc) if possible. +Add photo mode to the camera for 2008 MP3 player. +Add the ability to listen to “radio” or basically just Apple Music. +Add contrast slider to retro boy (not a firm request would just be fun). +Add other options for viewing music to Retro Boy. The iPod mode is very customizable and features the 1st/2nd classic, 3rd Gen, and 4-7th Gen click wheel. It also has multiple colors, dark mode and the special U2 iPod colours. It even has cover flow! Perfect for iPod lovers. However, I don’t like the fact that you need to donate to remove the donate tab from the iPod home page. You see it every time, but it’s not that bad, just a very minor annoyance. Keep up the good work! Hope to see more additions in the future!
