First it is not the best option for those who dont use Apple, are unbanked and dont use technology. Secondly, its a guessing fame which merchants will accept. The app is trash. The customer service team is very rude. This is what it looks like when you have businesses that operate without integrity, work ethic or any pride in their product. Just $$$ and its also what it looks like when the richest most cash flushed entities like Johns Hopkins who gets a great chunk of our tax dollars decides cheaper over quality and patient ease is better ### 1/5 — Terrible card and app *2026-03-17, version 3.2.0* I can’t use this card anywhere. I tried to buy something online with Apple Pay and it was declined. I went to buy something at a store and it was declined. When I called they said it could take five days even though my balance is listed as zero funds. But hey, I’m in a clinical trial, perhaps helping myself and/or future mankind. Fast forward, I am informed that I have received the placebo and I have moved hundreds of miles away from the nearest clinical trial facility. And I can’t get money off of the card to why bother? Sorry, mankind, I’m dropping out. Bad on you for contracting with such a low-rent finco. ### 1/5 — Useless and rude unhelpful “tech support” *2025-10-03, version 3.1.11* After two month and one virtual card and one physical nothing works. Can’t use the card. Can’t transfer money to my bank, support keeps saying “wait 3 days”, then says “ we can send you ANOTHER cards but it will take 10-12 days” then another 3 days for it to work, then “ Call your clinician”. Useless card, rude people, won’t let you speak to a supervisor. I doubt I will ever get the money out to actually pay for clinical expenses. One star is way too high to rate this company. It borders on fraud in my opinion. Despite EXACTLY following directions, it's impossible to get a pin, the app does not permit linking to a band account (the submit button does not function), calling is just a maze of recordings. Zero response time if I knew this payment system was so bad I would definitely have skipped the study! And I am still getting a alert that is locked out for 10 minutes. I have waited hours and tried to re-logging in. No luck. Tried using chrome on my laptop at the specified website. I’ve tried several times. I even deleted the app and reloaded it. Same problem. When you open the app and try to log in, it seems to have kept the session open from the last time it was used (hours, days, or weeks later), which is likely a security issue. But that is preferable to other times when it doesn’t open at all. The app is the opposite of user friendly and customer support is not much better. There is literally no thought process in the coding of this app, and to make it even more interesting they have blocked screenshots which is absolute BS when trying to troubleshoot or keep records of transactions. My device is a personal device and I don’t have a block on screenshots that many corporate phones have. Currently waiting for my bank auth to go through to transfer funds, but no issue leading up to this point. ### 5/5 — Card is Perfect *2024-10-22, version 3.1.8* Just have to figure out how to add your bank. Difficult because no one shows you how to work the site. I played with each icon to see how to transfer $ from my card to my bank. 2-3 days to deposit. And to figure out where to sign out at. ### 5/5 — App worked perfectly with my VISA card *2021-05-04* I just received a new VISA ClinCard and was able to easily set up my account and have total visibility of my card and it’s activities. I think the other reviewers who gave low ratings are using cards other than VISA. ### 4/5 — App Works Mostly Well *2024-04-23, version 3.1.6* Unlike Money Network's mobile app, ClinCard's mobile app actually functions properly. I am able to log in, view my card balance, and even transfer funds to an external bank account. While I cannot speak for the negative reviews of this app, I might be able to offer insight to anyone interested in transferring their card's funds to a bank account. I recommend pursuing this option if you want to exhaust your card balance without the hassle of using the card or paying any withdrawal fees. If you decide to transfer funds to a bank account, you will need to provide the account number and routing number, then you will be required to wait at least three (3) business days before you can initiate a transfer. This time frame allows for ClInCard to verify the existence of your external bank account. You can use the app to check the status of verification for your linked bank account, and once it is verified, then you can proceed to initiate a transfer of your funds. The only improvement this app needs is in biometric authentication. At one (1) point, I was able to log in with biometric authentication, which is more convenient than typing your username and password each time you log in, but for some reason, if I set up biometric authentication and try to log in that way, a prompt will tell me my username or password was incorrect, which makes no sense since biometric authentication does not require me to type my username or password. ClinCard should also offer a way to add multiple cards to a single account. I have two (2) virtual cards through ClinCard, but I could not figure out a way to link multiple cards to a single ClinCard account, so I had to create a separate account for my second (2nd) virtual card. This is not a dealbreaker for me, but it is a minor hassle ClinCard could address. ### 4/5 — Works great *2022-10-17* Does what it’s supposed to do. Once bank account is verified (another reviewer seems to have had an issue here so wanted to pass this along) the transfer service worked seamlessly. ### 4/5 — Traveler *2022-05-20* Hi needed to find my PIN for cash withdrawal. Their website is impossible to find, so I ended up calling. And I was finally able to set up an account on my phone. I was expecting their phone app to be crap, but I am pleasantly surprised that it is easy to use and readily provides all the information you need. ### 2/5 — Poorly executed *2026-05-14, version 3.2.1* While I am able to login at least and see my balanace and transaction history, the app is poorly executed. 1) i only log on to this device. Yet it makes me say there are multiple sessions running and makes me quit the current session on this device, in order to log into this same device. 2) Face ID requires a prompt before being used. Whereas other banking apps auto sign you In. 3) I can’t screenshot my own transactions because it’s “disabled for security reasons”. 4) ok fine I’ll use statements. Except, it doesn’t let me change the statement date.
