Terrible customer service and non responsive app. ### 1/5 — Nothing works *2025-02-23, version 3.4.1* Can no longer submit meter readings, customer complaints are also not working. They pay millions for this app and it looks like it was developed by a child! ### 1/5 — Hardly ever works *2024-12-17, version 3.4.1* The app hardly ever works. The latest issue is that one cannot upload your meter readings. It tells you that it has been queued for upload and afterwards gives an error and all is lost. ### 1/5 — Not allowing meter reading upload *2024-08-13, version 3.4.0* We get interim readings because we can’t upload to app. It tells you to upgrade to a later version, but there is no later version. ### 1/5 — Useless Services & App *2024-06-13, version 3.4.0* This is the most useless service portal I have ever had to use…takes for ever to load. When wanting to perform actions on it, it states there is a new version that I need to download from App Store, but last update was a year ago and at the save version as I currently have installed. Gross incompetence if you ask me… please appoint a developer who knows how to develop and manage/maintain, ### 1/5 — Never works *2024-03-25, version 3.4.0* You cannot submit a water meter reading. Managed once and never again. I try multiple times each month in the given submission period but app just hangs. You can get to the place to submit a photo ### 1/5 — Ms *2023-12-20, version 3.4.0* It is so frustrating to use this App. It only worked once and I loaded both my electricity and water meter readings but only the electricity reading was considered. Water still came back as Interim after I paid an exorbitant amount in February when it was ‘adjusted’! Back to square one. I be been trying to load the new readings for more than a week nothing is happening. Says App has been updated. I go to the App Store, same app keeps on loading. Frustrated resident. ### 1/5 — Zero stars *2023-12-02, version 3.4.0* Would give zero stars if possible. This is a joke: anything reported is completely ignored. Don’t waste your time, the only purpose of this app is to allow COE to boast about how many issues the “handle”, when in reality they handle none. Literally do not waste your time. NOTHING will come of anything you report here. ### 1/5 — Can’t submit tickets *2023-09-01, version 3.4.0* It’s been a problem for a few years now yet it’s not fixed. So why bother reviewing? I can’t submit tickets because I need to update my profile with my cellphone number but you can’t have a profile without it??? My number is updated! Please can we go back to the old app where we could submit issues and tickets without a profile!! Or is this on purpose to ignore service delivery? ### 1/5 — Useless App *2023-05-06, version 3.4.0* Soo Many complain reviews and still not fixed nxn. You guys are charging us on estimates and we can’t even upload the actual a on the app , the app keeps on loading until one forget that they were waiting to upload the readings ! May you please give the tender to people who knows what they are doing ! Use suppliers that created the banking apps for example . This is useless. And based on this estimates you’ll want to block our electricity for not paying ! Where do I get R2500 when my normal monthly readings is R800 , you guys must use your head please as this is not right ### 1/5 — Meter reading not working on iOS *2023-02-28, version 3.4.0* App keeps telling you that a new version of the app is available and that you need to update. App is updated and meter reading cannot be uploaded - useless - like everything in South Africa ### 1/5 — Terrible *2023-01-15, version 3.4.0* This app is terrible. Constant errors when trying to log complaints: Information is incomplete … but you can’t edit it. Can’t log a complaint because the old one is still open. Can’t view a history of your complaints. Can’t log a complaint if you are not in the area… so I can’t be sitting at work and log a complaint for the potholes I had to navigate to leave home. A junior developer could sort all of these bugs … no excuse for this pathetic app ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2023-01-11, version 3.4.0* If I could rate this app as a minus 10 I would. Does the report fault function ever work? Would the monthly invoice ever show? It’s more than 2x my acreage usage y far Well. If you want this app to see how much you ow me our corrupt municipalities than this is for you If you want the app to upload your meter readings. Don’t bother. It never works Guess I shouldn’t be surprised.. I mean. Why would they take away their best source of income at the moment? ### 1/5 — Water meter readings section don’t work *2022-11-16, version 3.3.1* The city isn’t collecting water readings and the app doesn’t work either for water readings to upload yourself. Quite useless ### 1/5 — Pay Now button failure *2022-09-27, version 3.3.1* Pay Now function supposed to bring convenience - but rather inconvenient that it just exits you from the screen and do don’t get to pay your bill. Last week I got an error when trying to view my bill- now I can’t pay it. Is this CoE’s method to earn “final notice” fees they are ultra efficient at dishing out? ### 1/5 — Does not work *2022-06-23, version 3.2.3* The “Add Complaint” button is nonfunctional, hence no service delivery faults or failures can be reported. iPhone X ### 1/5 — Pathetic *2022-05-02, version 3.2.2* Does anyone even monitor the complaints which by the way do not appear in your complaints history? Water leak reported two months ago but nothing has happened. What is the point of the app if complaints are not being resolved? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not working *2025-12-18, version 3.5.4* Go through all the trouble to report low power voltage just for an error message to pop up that the case could not be processed. Waste of time. ### 1/5 — Water Reading *2025-11-13, version 3.5.4* When I want to enter the monthly water reading it jams and can not submit, went to the WhatsApp, to submit there it also has problems, they don’t deserve even that one star and I’m still waiting for my waste bin and there’s no turnaround time 😥 ### 1/5 — Does this app ever work? *2025-09-12, version 3.5.4* At first it did not not accept my Siyakhokha credentials. I then opted to log in as a guest. Now it won’t accept the address from where the query/complaint comes from. Also, is there value in these reviews? Is someone following up on them? All in all, it’s a frustrating app to use ### 1/5 — Worse than terrible *2025-08-04, version 3.5.4* Since the update I’m unable to login. Have tried password reset to no avail. But being a government app it will take months to redesign. ### 1/5 — Nothing functional in this app *2025-07-25, version 3.5.4* Unable to report issues (gives an error message each time). WhatsApp reporting number tells you it’s after hours and says “Goodbye” during office hours! Complaints don’t work. Complaint image upload doesn’t work and freezes the app. Have been trying to report a leak under the road for 4 weeks! ### 1/5 — App getting worse with every update *2025-07-21, version 3.5.4* Leave it to government is SA to brake everything. Thos app is a case in point. With every update it is getting worse. Current version you can hardly see what is going on as 80% of text that you need to click on is not even on screen, so now you need to guess what you want. Then when you can eventually log a service request, this app tells you that "Complaint Warning. No street address found at this location, please move the pin and try again". If it wasn't for the fact that I need this app, I would have deleted it in a flash ### 1/5 — Bad design *2025-06-23, version 3.5.4* When trying to submit readings for meters: It does not register a tap on the screen so I can scroll to see the button to submit. ### 1/5 — Can’t submit meter readings anymore *2025-06-23, version 3.5.4* After the most recent update once you click on the text box to add water meter readings the keyboard covers the submit button and you can’t close the keyboard to submit. So it is completely non-functional. ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-06-21, version 3.5.4* This is such a bad app you cannot even submit your reading because you cannot press the button to submit because keypad stays visible and there is no way to hide it. Among a lot of other issues. Get it fixed or contact me and I will write you a better app!! ### 1/5 — Cannot upload meter readings *2025-06-13, version 3.5.4* Have been trying for almost an hour to upload meter readings, keep getting an error. Cannot upload a photo from phone, nothing happens. As well as show a history. This would be much appreciated. ### 2/5 — Payments *2020-07-07, version 1.2.1* With all the COE apps/SnapScan/Web, one has never been able to make a payment, whether instant or Masterpass with no challenges of the funds not being properly allocated or not being allocated on time. Paying directly at Spar/PnP has proved a much better option yet problematic in times when we’re supposed to refrain from crowds. Not about to try payments on this app either, at least not until someone tests it and it works properly and on time ### 2/5 — Catherine M *2020-07-07, version 1.2.1* The address is so much easier to enter compared to the previous Ekurhuleni App. However, as a previous reviewer has said, if you have a small screen, like Apple iPhone 6, you can’t see the submit button.
