Sometimes the camera freezes and it doesn’t update quick with recent comics like other apps. Easy to use though it takes a while for new comics to be added to the platform. Especially for people like me who aren't quite looking to sell but just curious about what their collection costs. It doesn't have every comic but thats to be expected theres so many out there, but the system for inputting info is good. However, and I might have missed it I would like a button to remove a comic from your collection, either if you sold it or in my case i accidentally added 2 of the same since the issues have very similar covers and i didnt double check. ### 2/5 — Error 401 *2025-07-06, version 1.6.0* I entered over 240 comics to catalogue. Within 2 hours all but my top 20 were visible.And they were on my home page, not in the catalogue. I even have the subscription. A lot of scans aren’t available or if the information comes up , there’s nothing there. Or saying that it’s not available. I haven’t even scanned a single comic, and already I’ve found that the app is fundamentally broken. Specifically, it ignores the notch and banner at the top of the screen (iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 18.6.2), placing the account icon and three-dot menu within that zone while still displaying the time/battery banner, making those controls completely inaccessible. This isn’t just poor UI design—it’s IGNORANT UI design. I will still give it a try at scanning, but I’m expecting this app to be the deal-breaker on me working with Comics Into Cash. ### 1/5 — Broken *2025-08-28, version 1.6.0* None of my 72 comics even came up to 1c just scan 4 on another app and it’s a couple hundred wack ### 1/5 — AI Blackbox Scam 101 *2025-07-10, version 1.6.0* This app is a joke. HipComic is what happens when someone tries to slap AI buzzwords on a broken eBay mirror and call it innovation. Their so-called ‘value engine’ spits out inflated fantasy prices with zero grading context, no sales validation, and no transparency. You’re not getting market data — you’re getting algorithmic fiction designed to trap you in their dead marketplace. And let’s talk about that marketplace: it’s a zombie graveyard of duplicate eBay listings and sellers who’ve publicly called them out for holding funds, botched payments, and ghosting on support. You don’t own your collection — they do. You can’t export it. You can’t audit it. But sure, scan your book and let HipComic tell you your $20 filler issue is worth $200. Because that’s what this is: a lie wrapped in a scanner wrapped in a paywall. This platform should come with a disclaimer: ‘Not built for collectors. Built to fool them.’ If you care about real comps, grade accuracy, or actual ownership of your data — run. ### 1/5 — Kicked out, NO Warning *2025-06-22, version 1.6.0* I spent 2 days scanning a collection and without warning, all of a sudden I no longer had access to it (not even to view) without paying a monthly fee. I’m in a white-hot rage. Thanks for wasting my time. I understand usage limits (like a fee beyond a certain number) but tell the user before they waste their time. ### 1/5 — Trash app *2025-05-20, version 1.6.0* At first the app was awesome I was adding books with no problems until I hit issue 57. Then it stopped taking any additional books. Then I kept trying to add another book and it said user not found and deleted everything I had entered. Now it states my email and password are incorrect. It’s really frustrating taking the time to add 57 books and they disappear 😡😡 ### 1/5 — List track of Comics *2025-04-27, version 1.6.0* Placed all my comics in the app, a few months later, go to purchase some comics & refer to the app, stated I had zero comics imputed… I had 40+ comics inputed.. disappeared & disappointing… ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2025-03-16, version 1.6.0* When the app is working it detects about 75% of what I scan. A lot of newer stuff it can’t detect and if it does there’s no pricing. I love the concept and I think with improvements it’s got great potential. My biggest complaint is it logs you out randomly, sometimes while your in the middle of scanning then won’t let you log back in, says password is incorrect but it isn’t. Frustrating to say the least. I have to delete and reinstall the app often. Next time I think I will look for a alternative when I delete. Update: Now it says incorrect password and when I reset it says all good until I try to log in and it still says incorrect. BROKEN APP with a ton of time wasted in this trash app. ### 1/5 — Loses your data. *2025-03-02, version 1.6.0* Joined in February and added 60 books. Come to log back in 2nd of March and couldn’t. Tried to reset password and the email said there was no account registered with my email address despite HipComics emailing me everyday on that email address about something and having a registration successful email. The values of comics are either too low or too high and the app doesn’t recognise comics released over 6 months ago. It tracks your comics and provides the necessary info and features need for a basic collection. I can easily find what I have as well as see what other people have in their collections. While I don’t know how accurate the prices/values are, the app is completely free, unlike many of its competitors. Recent updates have also improved the app drastically from the original beta. ### 5/5 — Great…but the font! *2025-10-17, version 2.0.0* App has always worked for me, it’s how I catalogue my collection. Just wish the font was a bit bigger in this new update. It just stays locked in the start up page. Update: The development team contacted me and shared that a quick uninstall and then reinstall fixes the problem… And it did. As long as you sign in with the same email address, any comics you've added will still be in your collection - even if you use a different device. It would be really cool if you could add signatures to the value of the comics, at the moment I’m just tagging the signed ones.
