Shia or Sunni, hadiths should be sound and authentic, and the chain of narration establishes that. I am not trying to be a contrarian or bash the developer, for their intention may be pure. All I am saying is that if you are more learned and can suss out what's what, then this should be fine. But, for a beginner or someone new to Islam, this may cause a person to not follow the proper teachings of the Prophet (SAW). First to begin with this app is a Shia content based and most of the hadiths are not authentic. Daily it releases saying and narrations which are partially unknown. So I would not recommend if you are Sunni Muslim to not download this app. As for a Shia identifying person please confirm the authenticity of the hadiths and narrations with your scholars before reading, learning and sharing these. As for the owners and developers of this app please be conscious of Allah and do not spread misinformation, and weak hadiths or narrations of Sahaba or The followers of Sahaba. Any fabricated Hadith or a narration from a scholar is a big sin, and fabricating in this deen of Allah and his messenger has severe consequences in this world and the hereafter. May Allah forgive us all and unite/guide us in the straight path that the messengers and the righteous followed. Glory be to Allah. ### 1/5 — Complaint Regarding Distorted Translation in Your App *2025-09-18, version 4.0* Dear app developer, I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction with the way you have translated and presented the hadith from Imam al-Mahdi (A.S.) in your app (18 September 2025, Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 53, p. 181). The original Arabic clearly says: “وأما الحوادث الواقعة فارجعوا فيها إلى رواة حديثنا، فإنهم حجتي عليكم، وأنا حجة الله عليهم.” This literally means: “As for the incidents that occur, refer to the narrators of our hadith, for they are my proof against you, and I am God’s proof against them.” Yet, in your app’s translation you have inserted terms that are not in the Arabic text, such as “faqih (Islamic jurists)” and “they are my caliphs”. These additions are fabrications that alter the meaning of the hadith and push a very specific ideological interpretation (the Usuli framework) onto the reader. This is unacceptable. A translation must faithfully reflect the text, not impose sectarian propaganda. If you wish to provide commentary or interpretation, that should be clearly labeled as such and not hidden within the translation itself. Misrepresenting the words of an Imam is a serious matter, and it betrays the trust of your users. I urge you to: 1. Correct the translation to match the Arabic faithfully. 2. Separate translations from commentary or Usuli interpretations. 3. Ensure accuracy and transparency in future updates. 4. Announce your mistake publicly so that mosques realise this mistake and those who use this app Failure to address this issue will only damage the credibility of your app and alienate those who seek authentic, unaltered words of the Ahlulbayt (A.S.).
