## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.2 — 2026-08-06

What's new in Recurring Payments

Templates — for bills that change every month
Electricity, gas, water — bills where the amount is never the same. You can now save these as Templates. Set them up once, then each month open the Templates tab, tap the amount, enter what you owe, and it's logged instantly.

Faster logging
Tap the amount on any template to log it without opening anything. Just enter the number and hit Log — done in seconds.

Cleaner overview
Recurring payments are now split into two tabs — Recurring for fixed bills and subscriptions, and Templates for variable ones. Your fixed payments show a monthly total at the top so you always know what's going out each month.

Pay & Log in one tap
When you open a template to update it, you can now save the changes and log the expense at the same time — no extra steps.

Visual improvements
Each payment now shows the icon and color from its category, an urgency indicator, and a clear status badge (Paid, Overdue, Due Today, etc.) so you can see what needs attention at a glance.

Lock screen widget
Your budget grade and monthly score are now available right on your lock screen. Choose from three sizes — a ring, a summary bar, or a single line above the clock — so your budget health is always one glance away.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-07-11

New: Home Screen Widget
Add the Family Expenses widget to your home screen for a quick budget overview at a glance.
- Small widget — see your monthly budget health score and grade
- Medium widget — quick-add expenses to your most-used categories directly from the home screen; tap "Edit" to choose which categories appear

New: Sync Failure Alerts
If an expense fails to reach the server (e.g. due to no internet), the app now notifies you on next launch with a list of affected expenses. You can retry syncing or remove them individually.

Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where expenses added during the session would disappear after closing and reopening the app
- Fixed an issue where newly created categories could disappear on relaunch
- Fixed a rare case where expenses added at the end of a month while offline were lost after syncing

### 1.2 — 2026-06-26

Smoother loading experience

Everything now animates in from zero when you open the app — spending bars fill up, amounts count up, and your budget score grows to its value. Feels much more alive on launch.

Budget score no longer flickers

The score used to briefly show the wrong number before settling. Now it smoothly counts up to the correct value straight away.

Swipe to edit & delete is back

Swiping on expenses in the history view was broken. It works correctly now — swipe left to delete, right to edit.

Data no longer drops to zero

In some cases, all your spending amounts would reset to zero after the app finished syncing with the server. This is fixed — your data stays put.

Expenses added offline are safe

If you added an expense without internet and the app synced before it uploaded, that expense could disappear from your totals. It now stays visible even mid-sync.

### 1.1.4 — 2026-06-25

New Features
  - Receipt attachments — Take a photo or choose from your library to attach a receipt to any
expense. View it full-screen with pinch-to-zoom, share it, or remove it at any time.

  Bug Fixes
  - Fixed split balances showing raw user IDs instead of names after switching accounts
  - Fixed weekly recap notification not opening the recap story when launching the app from cold
  - Fixed receipts failing to load after upload (URL encoding issue)

  Design Updates
  - Redesigned "Add Member" sheet — cleaner layout, clearer wording (user must already have an
  account; no email is sent)
  - Redesigned "Change Nickname" sheet to match the rest of the app's style

### 1.1.3 — 2026-06-02

Expense Splitting
Split expenses with family members directly from the add expense screen. Choose who to split with, set an optional note, and the
request lands in their Splits tab. They can accept or decline — if they pay, your recorded expense automatically updates to reflect
your actual share. Re-request declined splits or pay them anyway from history. The view updates in real time as the other person
  acts.

  Budget Health
Track your monthly spending against goals you set per category. A score ring gives you an at-a-glance A–F grade, with per-category
breakdowns showing how much is left or over. Tap any goal figure to edit it inline. Accessible from the home screen — or tap the card
   to open the full view.

  Home Screen Improvements
The Budget Health card now sits at the top of your categories list with a live progress bar and your current budget grade. If you
haven't set goals yet, a prompt card encourages you to start. Your monthly streak badge lives inside the card.

  Other Improvements
  - Expense history now shows your personal share when an expense is split
  - Category rows show a mini progress bar when a monthly goal is set
  - Split section appears above the date picker when adding an expense
  - Loading indicators on all split action buttons so you always know when something is happening
