### 1/5 — Absolute garbage

*2026-02-19, version 7.9.2*

I wish i could give it less than one star. One the app only takes debit cards so if you have your credit card as default payment method in apple pay it won’t work. Secondly the tickets are non refundable and expire in 7 days but the worst bit is we stood at the bus stop for 2 hours and 5 buses were expected to make a stop yet none showed up.

### 1/5 — Fine for what it does unless…

*2026-02-17, version 7.9.0*

I was forced logged out and it doesn’t accept my card information anymore as a payment, I have to manually find a machine and pay. Almost useless as an app for me

### 1/5 — You had one job …

*2026-02-05, version 7.9.0*

I could overlook the boneheaded buy/scan approach to selling tickets and even the cumbersome login process. What I can’t overlook is that the _single_ necessary functionality of this app doesn’t work: taking my money. Apple Pay payments with both visa and Mastercard fail, even after uninstalling and reinstalling. And I am sorry, I can’t trust my card details to anyone this incompetent at software development. Zero stars. This app should be removed from AppStore for just not being fit for purpose.

### 1/5 — Ticket used

*2026-01-22, version 7.9.0*

My adult ticket was moved to used. I never validated it. I will use regular ticket in future.

### 1/5 — BRING BACK PAPER UPASSES

*2025-12-04, version 7.9.0*

If I could give less than one star I would. Deleted my personal account over a year ago in favour of a student account. Why does this app constantly log into an account that is supposed to be deleted? Why is it even still active?

### 1/5 — payment is broken

*2025-10-14, version 7.9.0*

This app worked great for a while then I moved to a different house still in the city I updated everything with my bank everything is correct on that end so I removed the card from my app and saved it again with the proper address however now because of that I can no longer buy tickets through the app my husband had the same problem, I reached out to customer service told them I had updated everything told them I had tried deleting the card and re-entering it told him I had tried deleting the app clearing it from my iCloud and starting again nothing worked they told me try all that again I'm fairly certain it was just an automated response and it took them a month to get back to me, this app is useless to me now

### 1/5 — Garbage App

*2025-10-05, version 7.8.36*

Title

### 1/5 — App Won’t Open on IOS 14

*2025-09-29, version 7.8.36*

Can’t even open the app on my phone. It immediately closes when I try. “Works on iOS 13 or newer” is a straight up lie. Good thing this is the only app to get bus passes on since you stopped making physical copies and rely on a 1star app that doesn’t even work with older phones. Nobody does it worse than Calgary Transit.

### 1/5 — UPass disappeared

*2025-09-05, version 7.8.36*

Student at UofC, paid $175 via tuition fees for a pass that existed for half a day before disappearing. Having to buy additional bus tickets on top of school fees is not fun! I’m going to go get the UPass sticker from student services and delete this app. Previously had issues with the app logging you out at inconvenient times, this is just the final straw I guess.

### 1/5 — Worst bus app ever

*2025-09-02, version 7.8.36*

So buggy I can’t even create an account. Every time I click create, nothing happens. Worst app ever

### 1/5 — What is happening?

*2025-08-30, version 7.8.36*

Since when do I need to sign in to myID to buy a bus pass?!? I’ve been using this app for years and never needed that now it’s locked me out and I don’t know my username or password and I can’t use this when I need it. Terrible and unkind.

### 1/5 — Bad from all sides

*2025-08-30, version 7.8.36*

For a pricing it’s so bad and last two months there have been a lot a lateness trans get late and some time you there is no Tran so you go by bus also for the app they log you out a lot and when you talk to customer support they are so rude

### 1/5 — Tickets that expire? I’ll take an Uber instead

*2025-08-14, version 7.8.35*

7 day expiration on tickets as of Aug 13 2025. I considered public transit while my car was in the shop but I don’t see any reason for a digital ticket to expire when the physical ones didn’t.
This is a stupid management decision and made me decide to take Uber instead.
I feel bad for those folks with really low income who rely on this service. Just tax them for existing some more why don’t you.

### 1/5 — just download the transit app

*2025-07-24, version 7.8.35*

this is a bad app

### 1/5 — App needs updates

*2025-07-21, version 7.8.35*

Even with the new validation system that has been added for train stations, the tickets still expire after 7 days. Absolutely horrible user experience and treatment for people who use the transit system correctly.
There are also not enough validation stations AND there is ZERO FEEDBACK to the user within the application that your ticket was validated. There could be a bug or an error with your validation and you would never know until a transit cop is scanning your ticket and asking you why it isn’t validated. Who rolls out such a massive wall of a change, punishing paying users, and makes zero changes to the application in place?

### 1/5 — 2025 and Apple pay is still not working!

*2025-07-16, version 7.8.35*

For the past 3 years I've tried and tried to get Apple pay to work and it still gives errors and doesn't issue a ticket.. if you want to start validating mobile tickets MAYBE FIX YOUR APP FIRST SO WE CAN PURCHASE MOBILE TICKETS?! Would cost nothing to hire a someone for an afternoon to quickly fix. Quit being cheap and fix your mobile app if you want people to purchase tickets to ride.

### 1/5 — Cutting corners

*2025-07-11, version 7.8.29*

Pls install tap to pay with credit card on transit like every other modern city. Thx

### 1/5 — Would not recommend

*2025-07-04, version 7.8.29*

I’ve put in everything correct for payment. Purchase error. Tried Apple Pay, still receiving error.

### 1/5 — DOESNT WORK!

*2025-07-03, version 7.8.29*

You put in a payment method and it works until you go to use it again and it stops working, saying the address cant be verified. i tried multiple cards from multiple banks, also called the banks directly and there are no problems with my accounts. i edited the card info to reflect the EXACT address format in my banking accounts and still will not verify the address!! apple pay also doesnt work (which is pre verified!). clearly is is a problem with the app and not the banks. trust a municipal gov to not be able to make a simple app work. so im stuck here unable to go anywhere because i dont have any physical tickets and therefor cant get onto a bus. waste of two hours of me trying to figure this out, and support says theyll get back to me in three days. total joke!!

### 1/5 — This app sucks

*2025-06-03, version 7.8.29*

Not really user friendly i hope they update it. It’s extremely complicated to use and there’s just a lot of bugs. At this point just buy your ticket somewhere you’re just gonna be wasting your time with this app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Won’t charge

*2026-05-09*

Continuously either signs you out or doesn’t even let you pay for a ticket. Says the payment can’t be made when everything is right.

### 1/5 — .

*2026-04-27*

why does it always say invalid in scaning for code? i did pay, the driver always question me why is it invalid its getting annoying i have to explain everysingle time i go to the bus pls fix this bug

### 1/5 — Worst transit payment system ever

*2026-04-19*

Such a stupid app. It will delete your saved credit card if you are inactive on the app for even just a few weeks. Need to set up the whole thing again. Apple Pay NEVER works on this app. So frustrating. And the fact that tickets expire in 7 days is insane. A paper ticket would never expire in 7 days. City of Calgary please just set up a Tap to Pay system like every other major city in the world and save us from this junk.

### 1/5 — Passes not showing up

*2026-04-18, version 7.9.2*

I don’t know why it’s so hard for the Upass to consistently show up every time you open the app. Fire whoever developed and updates this application

### 1/5 — cant pay the fee 🫩

*2026-04-03, version 7.9.2*

they’re gonna fine you if you don’t have ticket but how can i get one if the payments keep decline 🫩🫩🫩 you all better fix this problem

### 1/5 — Stole 126 dollars from me.

*2026-03-26, version 7.9.2*

Got locked out of my account with a monthly pass on it at the start of the month. Was told to reach out to support. Reached out to support for help got a bot response. Got live support who asked for screenshots and haven’t received a message since.

### 1/5 — BRING BACK PAPER UPASSES

*2026-03-18, version 7.9.2*

If I could give less than one star I would. Deleted my personal account over a year ago in favour of a student account. Why does this app constantly log into an account that is supposed to be deleted? Why is it even still active?

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2026-03-16, version 7.9.2*

You can only log into your account once every 6 months, and if you log into your account once a different device you will be locked from signing in even if you have paid for a bus pass.

Complete scam and awful for people.

### 1/5 — Bad experience, unreliable

*2026-03-04, version 7.9.2*

Tickets will say they are not activated when they actually are, transactions don’t work but still shows up on my credit card, log-in won’t let me sign into a different account, and so many more problems.

### 1/5 — Payment not processed

*2026-03-02, version 7.9.2*

Can’t process any payment

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works as advertised

*2024-06-11, version 7.8.18*

I have been using this for over one year and have not come across a problem. Not sure why it’s has a low rating.

### 5/5 — Please create an apple watch version

*2024-06-09, version 7.8.18*

Really convenient app. Loves it.
Please create a watch version so I don’t have to carry my phone at all.

### 5/5 — Convenient & Easy to use

*2022-05-12*

Have been using this for a few years now, I can say that it is convenient and easy to use. It’s great for someone who knows they’re about to take the bus and doesn’t want to run to the convenience store to buy a pack of tickets. I always buy 1 ticket right before I leave to go to the bus stop, if I wanted to load up on tickets for the week I would buy them at a convenience store. But since I am never 100% sure I will take the bus, this app is perfect for my flexible travel methods. Most of the peoples issues here have to do with tickets expiring, easiest fix is to not buy them in bulk and just buy as you need them.

### 5/5 — A good app :)

*2022-04-28*

This is almost similar to what i had in Vancouver. Vancouver uses a physical card (Compass Card) which you can unlimitedly load via machines or on the website. Even though buying tickets on the app “MyFare” will have 7 days to expire, its still pretty useful than having to buy physical booklets or tickets in stores. Rather, you can all buy AND store it in your phone ready to be in use and ready to pay before you use the transit in Calgary :)

### 4/5 — Good app

*2020-08-16*

Good app and does what it should.. Wish they would prorate monthly tickets based on when you buy them in the month.

### 4/5 — A large step in the right direction

*2020-07-09*

Nothing fancy but I much prefer this than having to carry a book of paper tickets or purchase a ticket before each ride. User interface is basic but it has everything you need. You can save card details or use Apple Pay. Tickets expire in 7 days which isn’t ideal but since it takes a few seconds to purchase a ticket I guess I just won’t buy tickets until I plan to activate and use them.

Based on the press release of the software company who is responsible for the app there will be the option for account based or tap on/off riding in the future as the scanners installed into the buses can do NFC and EMV so that’s a plus. But given ridership numbers these days I doubt there will be any budget for upgrades anytime soon.

### 3/5 — Not great

*2025-02-22, version 7.8.29*

Having to log in is crazy and such a pain. You think when you’re on the bus, drivers feel like waiting for you to remember your password?

Also yeah, why have them expire in 7 days? Why not be able to purchase a backlog so you do NOT frustrate drivers because you forgot to get more tickets?

### 3/5 — May 14 2024 update broke Apple Pay

*2024-05-14*

This app was great up until the May 14 update which was supposed to make purchasing tickets easier although I’m not sure how since it worked just fine before. I kept getting “Payment Failed”. I have now added my credit card to the app but will need to remember my CVV with every purchase, which makes no sense. I don’t ride enough to purchase a monthly pass so I often buy tickets 2 or 3 at a time. It worked just fine using Apply Pay within the app but that is now broken. Would give this 5 stars otherwise.

### 3/5 — Expires

*2020-07-07*

I agree 7 days is unacceptable, if you buy a paper ticket it does NOT expire you can use old tickets and pay the extra if the fare is different from current fares.

### 2/5 — Since update

*2024-09-01, version 7.8.18*

Since the address update was done I can no longer purchase tickets. It says there’s a security code error for my card when there is not. My card works for all other online purchases and I get a text notification saying I purchased something online but never actually processes
