It is a bit pricey and low mileage availability but overall it’s been great. I work from home and drive a whole lot but sure beats the hell out of leasing or buying a car nowadays with the ridiculous interest rates and insurance. With this you make one payment and everything is included. 4 stars ### 2/5 — Flawed Search Design *2025-11-15, version 4.0.83* I entered my zip code while searching, and a list of cars showed. Then, when I went to check out, the app said there were no available cars in my area (no delivery options either). I spent time searching, only to be told NO. What is better is when users enter their zip code, an immediate message pops up saying Flexcar is not in your area or something like that. Seems misleading given the poor search design. ### 2/5 — Do anything else *2025-11-07, version 4.0.83* Hidden fees, unresponsive customer service, general scam. We could have bought a car for the amount we had to sink into this. For goodness sake just avoid this it is a total scam ### 1/5 — Unsatisfied customer *2025-07-04* Whenever I use my bank card, they sent me a text message and an email with the link stating that I needed to show proof of address whenever I opened up the link it told me that I can choose a bank statement or credit card bill or a utility bill that would match my name and my address I then proceed it to use the PDF file that I had of my lease agreement stating my name and my address to find out 12 hours later that they canceled my appointment because it got denied after calling them I found out that what they really want is the bank statement with my card my name and my address up there. I explained to them what the website told me whenever it messaged me, but there were still nothing that they could do to reopen my scheduled appointment so now I have to make another appointment at a later time Because of misinformation that was given. ### 1/5 — Customer service *2025-06-29, version 4.0.56* I understand we live in a capitalist society and profit is the number one motive but not having people available to answer the phone and resolve issues is unkind and will turn many people away. Not sure if you care though. ### 1/5 — App is ineffective *2025-05-29* I pay almost 1500 been a member since October 2025, add the driving score app stated at 55 and score drop every month and charge me an extra $50 every month!!!This is insane, called to opt out of app because clearly it is not working they tell me I can’t opt out!! This is robbery!! On top of the fact they charge me an extra 100 bucks every month for going over the miles and i have the highest mile package!!! I could be leasing a luxury car by now definitely not worth it!!! And there is no one to escalate your issue to, you are calling out the country!! No supervisor on duty? No corporate number? I have gotten nowhere!!! Vey unsatisfied!! ### 1/5 — My driving score review *2025-04-02, version 4.0.44* Honestly I hate because it’s just another way to raise the note you already paying well me I got the highest package for miles so I don’t run out and now you come with this for safe driving I live in the country with deers wild turkeys wild hogs and any other animals running out the woods so I don’t mean to slam on brakes but I rather that than wreck the car plus some people on others cars don’t drive correctly so you have to brake like un normally not intentionally ### 1/5 — Worst App *2025-03-25, version 4.0.44* Nothing but web pages. They charge a yearly membership fee which is mandatory and you cant cancel even after year..( it’s forever, unless you talk to a bunch of customer care) ### 2/5 — App isnt the best *2025-01-25* Have issues adding my bank account info to avoid paying 3% credit card fee. I was being overcharged because their bank linking process wasn’t working. Also i hate how i have to drive over an hour to the hub when it’s multiple car service shops in my area that they told me they partnered with. I shouldn’t have to drive an hr for an oil change and basic maintenance. I hate that i get charged for mileage knowing that in Atlanta it’s about a 20-30 minute drive to get anywhere around the city so if you have a longer commute to work like i do your miles go down quickly. Wish it had unlimited mileage option to avoid paying extra money when my miles run out ### 1/5 — SCAM *2024-11-11, version 4.0.27* They take your money and run! They don’t give refunds or anything despite what they say! #DO NOT RENT! ### 2/5 — Wats going on with the app *2024-11-10, version 4.0.27* Tried to login but keep getting a weird error message. I did email them. At a mechanic this will cost $150 max. Was not able to pay my daughter's day car because of this. Flexcar sees ALL of your driving patterns and will suspend your account if they arbitrarily deem your driving patterns unsafe. Welcome to the dystopian age, folks! Additionally, billing visibility is not something Flexcar does well! Sure, the price for the mileage plan and the insurance were straightforward, but WTH is this subscription fee I have to pay if I keep a car for over two weeks?! And I’m forced to pay for 200 miles upfront when selecting the low mileage plan? This information needs to be present when I book the car and make the initial payment. Totally deceptive startup practices here!! I really want to like this app and service, but don’t mislead me with the total payment will be!! FYI it comes to over $700 for the first month with the cheapest mileage plan!! The fact that you cannot change your payment due date is very concerning. In today’s world, unexpected situations happen all the time, and people need flexibility during uncertain times. The roadside assistance customer service also needs significant improvement. I understand the company may still be growing, but customers are dealing with real-life emergencies and need reliable, responsive support. On top of that, the extra fees—especially the mileage charges added on top of other fees—are excessive and unreasonable. They give a phone number to call, but it just tells you that they refuse to talk to you. Do not sign up with this company. Solid companies don’t cut customer support. This business is obviously failing. ### 1/5 — Never give them your credit card *2025-10-03, version 4.0.80* they will charge you without warning for multiple things, such as a $275 membership, a 3% transfer fee, and tolls that you’ll end up paying twice! You won’t be able to get any of this money back, and the worst part is that they do it all without your consent. Don’t believe the prices they show you upfront — if you fall for those numbers, you will regret it later. ### 1/5 — Not worth it at all *2025-09-14, version 4.0.76* I’m not sure why people even use this app, it’s the most pointless thing I’ve come across. Used for three weeks and just bought something. You’re allowed 10,200 miles a year, ridiculous for one. Their insurance, that you are forced to get ranged from 160-190 based on what i saw. The payments on, for instance, a 2020 Honda Accord with 64k miles was base price of 399 plus 170 s month for their insurance . A whopping 560 a month. For a 2020 base model accord with 64k with 850 miles a month. Make it make sense . And not only that you can’t use your own insurance, so you’d have to drop coverage. Do you know what happens when you finally do buy a car? They get you for much more for a lapse in insurance coverage. I mean I guess if you want to toss money away, be my guest but might as well finance something for 5 years and drive it into the ground. ### 1/5 — Misleading product *2025-09-04, version 4.0.74* After two weeks of using a Flexcar they require you to pay a non refundable membership fee of $249.00. The idea seems great but they nickel and dime you again and again. The worst part is they force you to use their car insurance and give some lame excuse for not using your own. I used the car for 60 days and at the end I had a renewal of a next month charge approaching. I was told if I returned the car within three days I wouldn’t be charged for another month. Low and behold that was a lie. I spoke to customer service three times and each time they had a different story. Company is dishonest with their pricing and fees. Don’t try the customer service team because they won’t help. All in 60 days later I was charged a total of $1853.62 for Flexcar on a $439.00 a month car. ### 1/5 — Worst costumer support *2025-08-12, version 4.0.66* 120miles round trip just to swap a car and they won’t even add credits or anything for the hassle. God is good ### 5/5 — Outstanding *2025-08-07* Had a great experience using flexcar for a long term rental vs other rental companies like Sixt etc. The prices are fair, pick up and service is a breeze and the app is seamless and informative. Customer service is always helpful, but the company does such a good job, I’ve rarely had to reach out. I plan to continue to use their service long-term. The real benefit to me is access to newer model, reliable vehicles where the service is covered for any maintenance and repairs, all baked into your monthly cost. Not sure I’ll ever go back to a traditionally financed depreciating asset vehicle ever again. ### 5/5 — The best way to drive without a long-term commitment *2025-07-22* I think Flexcar is honestly the best way to drive without being stuck in a long-term commitment. I didn’t want to buy a car - I just needed something flexible so that in a few months I could move to a different state without the headache of selling a car or dealing with maintenance. With Flexcar, I got a brand new car, no down payment, no long-term lease - just pick it up and go. Super convenient. Also, I really like how transparent the mileage tracker is. It helps me stay on top of my miles so I don’t go over and end up paying more. I was moving from the United States to Germany and my car broke down three months before my move. It did not make sense to buy a car for that short time so I tried a car subscription service. Flexcar was very easy to work with. I booked my car from the app. All features are pretty much automated. It was easy for me to check my mileage and I had the option to change cars if I wanted. I only had to call customer support twice (once to book the car and once to return it). Both times I called the representatives were very helpful and friendly. Everything went very smoothly and the service worked for me completely as advertised. The service is not overly professional yet, but the ease of having a car for a season at a reasonable price outweighs that for me. I’ve been with them for 3 years, changed cars 3 times and it has been straightforward every time - with “decent” car options. I’m an expat from the UK and for me was by far the best option for a car on a short term basis.
