My Healthy Kidney is a custom application designed to help doctors, patients and the public make smart, healthy dietary choices with an emphasis on renal nutrition. Our nutritional recommendations are based on calculations and algorithms developed over years by leading Renal specialists that now use My Healthy Kidney to create food plans for their patients. Simply enter in basic information about yourself, search for a food product and we’ll deliver customized nutrient recommendations. This takes the guessing game out of what you can or cannot eat, tailored to your specific diagnosis. It is our goal to help eliminate the frustration patients feel when their doctor tells them to avoid foods high in sodium or phosphorus while also giving the doctors a simple tool to create handouts for patients to reference.

How do you use an app that won’t let you use it? I wish I could rate it at zero.

I had high hopes for this app, but, alas let down.  Search for foods is too narrow.  I typed in the exact name as on the label, tried scanning the bar code, tried just by product name and nothing.  I paid the 1.99 and still worthless.  I was also under the impression from description that this would track his meals on daily basis.  Not so.  You can add food to basket but then you still have to log and calculate sodium, potassium and phosphorus from daily limits.  So will be deleting this one also.  Hopefully nephrologist that my husband sees will have a recommendation.

above it not fitting on a standard iPhone with buttons falling off the screen, there are ads for installs and you have to watch a video to add more favorites. I understand ads for free apps but this implementation is horrible.
