## What is My Homes Vault?

Home Atlas
A tap-to-open floor map of the household landmarks a house sitter or relative needs first: main water shutoff, electrical panel, exits, and the extinguisher, each carrying a note and a last-checked date.

Inventory
Group belongings room by room and record brand, model, serial number, barcode, condition, purchase date, price, store, and warranty. Attach a photo and a receipt to every item, then search by name, room, brand, or serial.

Continuity Desk
Write down the procedures another person may have to follow, from shutoffs and outage handoffs to access notes and service steps, each with priority, location, responsible person, contact, and a review window. Mark each one verified and clear the action queue as reviews fall due.

Record Index
One search field reaches across inventory, documents, home systems, maintenance, and continuity procedures at once, narrows to whatever still needs attention, and opens the underlying record.

Maintain
Schedule recurring upkeep with due dates and intervals, drawing on a built-in reference of seasonal household tasks, so filter changes and battery tests stop slipping.

Workspace
Watch warranties before they lapse, chart home systems against typical service life, keep documents and coverage notes together, plan a move box by box, and produce room-by-room PDF, CSV, evidence, emergency-card, and moving exports.

Backup and Restore
Prepare one versioned file that carries your records and attachments, verify its integrity digest and internal links, preview the contents, and confirm before anything is replaced.

Records stay in the app's local container and leave only when you export, back up, or share them yourself.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.3 — 2026-09-30

A clearer App Store name and search details. No other changes in this update.

### 2.0.2 — 2026-09-08

My Homes Vault now opens on a populated example home the first time you launch it, so every screen has something to explore before you add your own rooms and records.

- First launch seeds a named sample home ("123 Maple Street") once, then steps aside for your own data.
- Removed the build-only data path so the sample workflow is identical in every build.
- Hardened a home-systems chart color path against an edge case.
- Continuity Desk, Record Index, and validated local Backup and Restore refined.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-06-25

This update sharpens the interface: the iPad layout now uses a centered, comfortable reading width instead of stretching edge to edge, plus small display fixes. iPhone is unchanged.

### 2.0 — 2026-06-21

My Homes Vault 2.0 — a pro upgrade that turns your inventory into insurance and maintenance intelligence, still 100% offline.

• Home Systems Lifespan Tracker: AC, furnace, water heater, roof and more, with remaining-life bars, end-of-life dates, and a replacement-budget reserve.
• Coverage Gap Analyzer: the 80% dwelling rule, personal-property RCV vs ACV, and ISO category sublimits ($1,500 jewelry, $2,500 electronics), with an underinsured flag.
• Value Analytics: totals and breakdowns by category, room, and purchase year (charts).
• Seasonal Maintenance Scheduler that generates a whole season of tasks with reminders.
• Emergency Home Info Card (shutoffs, contractors, policy numbers) as a printable page.
• Claim-Ready Inventory PDF: a room-by-room insurer packet with photos, serials, and values.

No account, no cloud — every record stays on your device.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-15

What's New in v1.3

Moving Mode
Pack your move inside the app. Create a move with origin and destination addresses, add color-coded boxes, and drag items into boxes with a tap. Track packing progress (loaded vs. not) and delivery progress independently. Generate a printable PDF manifest — box by box, with each item's brand, model, serial number, and value — so nothing gets lost or mis-delivered.

Maintenance Task Library
A built-in library of ~50 expert-sourced home maintenance tasks (ASHI, This Old House, CPSC, EPA) lets you add tasks to your schedule in one tap instead of typing them from scratch. Browse by season (Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter/Year-Round) or category (HVAC & Air, Plumbing, Exterior & Roof, Safety, Appliances, Pest & Exterior, Interior, Seasonal). Every task includes source-backed notes on why it matters and how often to do it.

Per-Item Insurance Record PDF
The "Export Item Report" button on every item now works — it generates a single-item PDF insurance record with the item's photo, purchase price (RCV), Actual Cash Value (ACV) estimate, serial number, warranty status, and maintenance history. Share it directly to your insurer, cloud storage, or email.
