## What is My Hue Analyzer?

Hue Analyzer discovers Philips Hue bridges on your local network, pairs with them, and streams live CLIP v2 events so you can diagnose lighting and sensor behaviour on your tablet or desktop — without the Hue remote / cloud API.

PROFESSIONAL DIAGNOSTICS, ON YOUR LAN
• Requires iPadOS 17+ or macOS 14+
• Optimized for tablet and desktop layouts (not phone-sized screens)
• Overview home with live SSE health, recent events, battery and firmware alerts

DISCOVER & PAIR
• Scan the LAN for Hue bridges via Bonjour
• Pair securely with the bridge link button
• Credentials stay in the device Keychain

LIVE EVENT LOG
• Stream Server-Sent Events (SSE) from connected bridges
• Filter by category and search across resources
• Inspect colour, brightness, and sensor values as they change

RESOURCES & HEALTH
• Browse lights, sensors, scenes, and CLIP v2 behaviours
• Check battery levels and firmware versions; export a low-battery report
• Chart temperature and lux samples during the session

INVENTORY & CLIP TOOLS
• Keep a static device inventory with serial, location, comments, and photo
• Explore CLIP JSON (v1 / v2) with typed chips, copy, and careful write support

PRIVACY ON DEVICE
• IP, MAC, bridge ID, and API username stay masked until you reveal them
• No cloud upload of credentials or event data

Hue Analyzer talks to bridges directly on your LAN. It does not use the Hue remote / cloud API.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.6 — 2026-10-21

Hue Analyzer · What’s New in 1.2.6

• iPhone field companion — install and log devices on site with tabs for Inventory, Live, Health, Connect, and More. Default is Inventory. CLIP JSON, Resources, and Trends stay on iPad and Mac.

• Tighter phone chrome — denser brand bar, Demo strip, Connect cards, and Inventory filters so more of your list stays above the fold while you walk the install.

• Phone Inventory — Sync from your bridge, tap a row to Log Device, Take Photo (or Photo Library) for stickers / QR, and edit serial, Matter code, location, and notes. Select enables bulk battery / delete.

• Phone Live & Health — Events and ZigBee connectivity; Needs Attention, Battery, and Firmware. Connect pairs Hue bridges on the same LAN.

• Universal listing — one app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac (same version and build). iPad and Mac keep the full diagnostics shell including the CLIP workspace.

### 1.2.3 — 2026-10-16

Hue Analyzer · What’s New in 1.2.3

• Manage DHCP client / LAN IP recovery — when a paired Hue bridge’s address changes under DHCP, the app re-resolves via Bonjour (with cloud discovery if needed), updates the saved endpoint, and retries CLIP / SSE so you do not have to remove and re-add the bridge.

• Empty IP recovery — if a saved bridge has no stored LAN address, Hue Analyzer resolves one before CLIP refresh.

• Smarter reconnect — connect timeouts and “could not connect” failures can trigger a one-shot IP refresh; auth, certificate, and rate-limit errors do not thrash discovery.

• Network privacy — Show network details (Settings → Features, default off) keeps IP, MAC, bridge identifiers, and API usernames masked until you choose to reveal them.

• Clearer diagnostics — the connection log shows Endpoint messages such as “Re-resolving LAN IP…” and “Updated IP…”, with a short SSE cooldown so a flapping stream does not spam Bonjour. User Manual covers DHCP / LAN IP changes.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-09-22

Hue Analyzer · What’s New in 1.2.2

• Clearer diagnostics — the connection log shows Endpoint messages such as “Re-resolving LAN IP…” and “Updated IP…”, with a short SSE cooldown so a flapping stream does not spam Bonjour. User Manual covers DHCP / LAN IP changes.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-09-16

Hue Analyzer · What’s New in 1.2.1

• Built for the latest Apple platforms — updated for iOS 27 and Swift 6.4, with concurrency and Observation hardening for snappier, more reliable screens.

• Inventory Backup & Restore — create a local .hueinventorybackup (optional password) and restore it; optional private iCloud inventory snapshots from Settings → Features (blocked in Demo Mode).

• Reliability & polish since 1.1 — SSE and CLIP concurrency hardening, per-platform inventory document open-in-place, refreshed launch icon, and clearer Inventory Backup guidance in the User Manual.

• Privacy — backups never include Keychain credentials or API usernames; LAN diagnostics stay on your local network.
