I was afraid it was going to be a game where I had to earn coins to do some challenge. I just wanted a way to relax. I have other fish tank apps that allow me to just watch which I used all the time. But this is way better because I get to watch them and interact with them. The only “game” type activity is that if you ignore them for a few days the pond gets dirty. But all I have to do is feed them and it’s better. Graphics aren’t life like but pretty close. None of the fish are cheesy looking. It has beautiful scenes and nature sounds or music. Glad to see the devs are keeping it updated as well, and we all appreciate that! My only concern is that after a while, like maybe 20 minutes or so, I do notice my phone is quite warm. I’m running an iPhone 15 Pro, so I’m on a new device. I imagine it’s just the amount of processing power it uses, so I wanted to call that out in case that’s something that could be worked on for a future update. You have so many different koi customization options that it’s very difficult to accidentally make two koi look exactly the same. The nature soundtrack is sublime. I turned music off so I can really take in the sounds of rain hitting the pound, the waves rippling with every drop. My ears want more. I have the graphics cranked to highest quality without any loss of performance. I think this game would run beautifully on an M1 iPad as well. What makes me sad though is the only interaction with the koi in the game is to spook them away from you. I’d love if there was a new mechanic that allowed you to tame new koi over time, where they become more friendly with you or recognize you as food momma. All the fish are different and it’s so much fun to see them grow and name them. This is hands down the best aquarium style app I’ve ever experienced and it’s due to only get better. I keep the app open and running on my iPad next to my Mac and the soothing sounds of water, rain, thunder, and music make for a more delightful work experience. Taking a break every hour or so to feed my koi is a pleasant diversion from coding. To the developer: Keep up the great work. You’ve done a stellar job here and I would love to see this continue to get better and better. With the next upgrade, I’ll be buying the Mac app version too. It has amazing graphics and a clam nature even going into the little details of customisation in your tank (or pond) making it look different I love the way you can customise your fish and have so many in 1 pond! The way you can nurture your fish is just amazing being able to watch them grow and fending them aswell as there happiness! The fish also clean the tank(or pond) for me to! And so far I have not seen a single add! This game deserves to be nominated! Somthing else I will be looking for more games in the future like this one! My phone is running hot whether I am using Safari or My Koi. I really enjoyed the Koi. I can’t even get a pond going. It froze when I added my first fish...right after freezing and restarting during the fish creation process. Having to restart twice within 3 minutes is unacceptable. The description says the iPad Air is compatible but it’s not. Runs terribly. Please fix or give me a refund. Having seen koi ponds in Asian countries it would be nice if the app developers could add some extras. Absolutely gorgeous graphics and amazing simplicity. At the end of the day though I'll have about 35% of my battery left. I open the app, feed my koi and then literally just over a minute and my battery dies. You can customize both the koi and each pond. Add plants, logs, water lilies, leaves and even change the water color. You get fish immediately and don’t have to pay more for fish or tank extras-just feed the fish to help them grow. The one time app charge is low with no additional charges which is becoming a rarity in the App Store. You can view the fish from underwater at various levels -even looking up towards the clouds or view from above in feeding mode. The sounds from nature in addition to the watching the koi swim is very relaxing. It even rains sometimes-also customizable. You can focus on the movement of any koi in the tank by selecting it from the tank list. Wow! The app takes a second or 2 to switch between ponds and the transition is smooth. Haven’t had any problems with this app. This app was created by one person in his spare time-Kudos to the developer. ### 5/5 — Really good, but I think there should be goldfish *2026-03-14, version 2.4.0* So I know this game is focused on Koi and stuff, but maybe there could also be a goldfish since they are relatives and also I’m very excited to sealed the goldfish body types that could be added if the developers see this update : I think it would be really cool if you could breed the fish because it already has good models ### 5/5 — Virtual Koi masterpiece *2025-12-18, version 2.4.0* Having spent a lot of money on my Koi pond and to then have a wipe out after an electrical Pump and filter failure during very hot weather. This is wonderful Andy I love choosing the colours and watching my Koi grow. Maybe I am too easily entertained but I absolutely love how stress kinda fades into the background when I’m listening to the music/ambience and watching em swim. This is also just a really well made game. The graphics are soooo pretty, the mechanics are straightforward, and it doesn’t feel like adding more stressful tasks to your day (feeding them is not a hassel at all, and isn’t required every single day). You don’t have to worry about fish dying but you do get to look forward to unlocking more slots as they get bigger! Plus you get to design how they look yourself (the fish and the pond backgrounds!), which is very satisfying and lets me create themed ponds that my weird little brain really enjoys. Not to mention, unlike almost every other collecting/caring for pets type game I’ve played, you don’t have to pay a stupid amount of money/grind to progress! Three dollars is a reasonable price, especially since the dev is just one guy in his spare time (or at least that’s what the customer service looks like). We appreciate you buddy, this app is awesome!! My only qualms are that the first time I open it for the day, it’s really slow to load and I have to exit the app and get back in for it to start up (really not even a problem), and that you can change the time of day for the ponds but there’s no way to automatically sync it to the actual current time of day (which would be cool but again, not really a problem at all).
