## What is My Lift?

****Designed by sport scientists, trusted by elite athletes****
****Validated in the prestigious Journal of Sports Sciences****

What is your maximal strength? Which weight should you use in your next training session to optimize results? My Lift is the first scientifically designed app to measure your 1-Repetition Maximum (1-RM) in the most accurate way possible.

Knowing your 1-RM in every single training session is essential to adjust your training intensity and get the best adaptations. However, performing an actual 1-RM test could be dangerous and fatiguing and, if performed every day, it will most likely lead to overtraining or injuries.

To solve this problem, My Lift uses scientifically validated algorithms that can estimate your 1-RM with high precision by simply recording your exercise. To do this, My Lift uses the high-speed video recording available on most iPhone and iPad devices to measure the velocity at which you are performing the exercise, which is highly correlated with your maximal strength capabilities. This novel approach is used by sport scientists and top-level coaches thanks to advanced instrumental like linear transducers or force platforms, but now you can measure your 1-RM like a pro just with your iPhone or iPad!

My Lift is very intuitive and easy to use: you just need to record one repetition of the desired exercise with 1 to 4 different submaximal loads and select its start and beginning in the app with its accurate frame-by-frame navigation. After that, My Lift will show you your 1-RM!

Let's say you got a workout which includes 4x5 repetitions at your 80%1-RM. Well, you just need to pick a load and record one repetition with My Lift. It will tell if that load really corresponds to your 80% or not, so you can increase or decrease the weight to train in the right zone!

My Lift has a lot of great features that will help you measure your 1-RM in a very simple, yet powerful way:

-Estimates your 1-Repetition Maximum (1-RM) in a very simple way by measuring your movement velocity, a novel approach used by top sport scientists and elite coaches
-Measures what %1-RM corresponds to a specific load so you can adjust your training and get the best results
-Calculate your movement velocity to monitor your performance!
-Analysis of velocity loss to monitor fatigue.
-Track the trajectory of your lift and measure instantaneous position and velocity
-Works with some of the most widely-used upper and lower body exercises by default: bench-press, deadlift, pull-up, military press, back squat & hip thrust. You can even create your own exercises!
-Multi-team and multi-user: create as many teams and users as you want
-Progress analysis: save as many tests as you want and see your progress through time to check if you have improved or worsened your performance. You can even see the percent of change from one test to another!
-Data export: export your whole database to a csv file and play with your data in Excel!
-iCloud sync (iOS 13+)
-Universal app: purchase once and install it on your iPhone, iPad and Mac (10.15+)

My Lift, train smarter and get the best results!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-09-17*

I could never make it work with any of my lift, the instructions doesn’t help

### 5/5 — Una de las mejores aplicaciones para calcular el 1RM

*2020-10-16*

Definitivamente es de lo mejor que he encontrado para mejorar mi éntreno y el de mis clientes. Una calidad y precisión sin igual

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2019-11-07*

Really good to training control.

### 5/5 — VBT on a budget

*2019-05-03*

Purchased the app 5 months ago and have been using it to auto-regulate my workouts by running a quick 1RM test after my warmup which would inform my work sets for the day. It’s been brilliant!

Over the last 3 months I’ve tracked my 1RM fluctuations and I’m starting to see a trend emerging, on top of that I also had 2 actual 1RM test and found the app prediction was 2% off what I actually hit. I assume the slight margin of error is mostly operator error since you have to pick when the rep starts and ends.

For the price, ease of use, accuracy and usability, there’s nothing that comes close.

### 5/5 — Great

*2018-10-17*

Amazing app! As all Balsalobre's create! Good feed back when you understand how to work with tha app!

### 1/5 — No Reference to Measure Distance?

*2017-11-15*

I haven’t used this app for a while and notice there have been some updates. Has one of the updates taken out the option to measure the distance the bar travels? If so you can’t possibly get an accurate velocity reading. Everyone has different limb lengths so not sure how the app provides a velocity value without taking distance into account?

### 1/5 — Not living up to expectations

*2016-12-01*

So far this app has been a disaster for me. I have wasted a lot of time trying to get it to work and have never succeeded. If you screw up using the UI in any way while trying to do your initial test, you've wasted your time and have to start all over. The one time I was able to complete it, it wasn't able to give a meaningful 1RM. So far, it's just been a waste of $10 and I regret purchasing it.

## Frequently asked questions about My Lift

### What is My Lift and how does it work?

My Lift is a strength training app that estimates your 1-Repetition Maximum (1-RM) by analyzing the velocity of your exercise movements through video recording. It helps you determine the correct weight for your training sessions to optimize results and avoid overtraining.

### How accurate is My Lift's 1-RM estimation?

My Lift uses scientifically validated algorithms that measure movement velocity, which is highly correlated with maximal strength. This method is trusted by sport scientists and elite athletes, and has been validated in the Journal of Sports Sciences.

### Can I use My Lift without performing a maximal lift?

Yes, My Lift is designed to estimate your 1-RM without requiring you to perform a dangerous or fatiguing maximal lift. You can record one repetition with 1 to 4 different submaximal loads, and the app will calculate your 1-RM.

### What exercises does My Lift support?

My Lift works with many common upper and lower body exercises by default, including bench press, deadlift, pull-up, military press, back squat, and hip thrust. You also have the ability to create and track your own custom exercises.

### How does My Lift help with training adjustments?

The app measures what percentage of your 1-RM a specific load corresponds to. This allows you to verify if your chosen weight is appropriate for your training zone, enabling you to increase or decrease the weight as needed for optimal adaptation.

### Can I track my progress over time with My Lift?

Yes, My Lift allows you to save an unlimited number of tests and view your progress over time. You can see if your performance has improved or worsened and check the percentage of change between tests.
