Maybe longer. It always works just fine as long as you have a data plan on your phone. If you don’t have a data plan it works just fine on wifi data at home. It is a reliable app and it runs constantly on my phone and my iPad. Don’t forget to set your notification range to where you want to to start alarming you of approaching lightning. I had the app closed and received a notification that there was lightening nearby. It means it’s tracking my location while the app is closed. I checked my settings to verify my selection. Storm comes in and the app will show literally THOUSANDS of strikes, yet only a few actually hit the ground. So useless if you want to track actual ground strikes.
