If you like lightningmaps dot org, this app is nothing like it. The map is not live and you have no clue where the current strikes are occurring if the map is full of red dots. Bad data can mean bad forecasting directly affecting launch operations at nearby Vandenberg Space Force Base. Out of the 5 weather apps I use I only trust this one, the best $6 I’ve ever spent. So many settings you can customize for notifications. The only downside is it does use quite a bit of phone battery life if you allow the app to always use your location, which makes complete sense. But again, you can easily change that. I love how fast the lightning strikes are updated (within seconds of happening), and the strike distances are extremely accurate from your location.
