I’ve been playing this game for two weeks because I wanted another merge game to play—I really like these kind of games because they for whatever reason put my brain into a flow state and it really helps my anxiety. This game would be perfect if it didn’t force you to play a minimum of three mini games that are at best a mild nuisance after two weeks of playing. It breaks that flow state for me and brings back the anxiety for a few minutes. The mini games are fun when you can choose if and when you play them (like for extra rewards or certain resources, for example). My main complaint was that the Brighthouse only stores 200 units of energy…which gets used pretty quickly. I figured that as I leveled up, I would be able to store more energy, but no. Then I saw the quest to free the Brighthouse and thought, “aha”, but not only was I wrong about increasing the energy capacity, that’s where the game ended! I wouldn’t be too upset except there is no “end game”. You’re completely locked out of the merge aspect of the game (you know, the main selling point.) I find the the Brighthouse side games tedious and only do them because I have to in order to fill my energy. I understand that the game is designed for children, so a bit of repetitiveness and a simple story line doesn’t bother me. But it should still have a sense of progression and accomplishment that a lame virtual sticker book just doesn’t offer. ### 1/5 — Crash on Launch - M1 iMac *2022-12-17, version 1.0.1* Preordered this for my girls.
