It’s cost-effective and it just plain works. **The main thing the team and I fell that this app needs is the ability to directly mark, highlight and add notes onto our stored music sheets . This addition and ability would be very helpful and I hope that the developers consider adding this feature to the app. Right now there is a drop-down box to add notes into and it becomes cumbersome when you’re trying to perform and read your sheet music and notes because the drop down notes make the music so small it’s difficult to read. ### 3/5 — Good app *2025-08-26, version 1.13.3* If this app could call up songs via artist then it would be a 5… I often get asked for a song by a certain artist & have several I could do but can’t think of the names of songs or what songs I do, it would be great to look up the artist & have a list of songs there ### 3/5 — Tempo number not showing anymore *2025-08-10* Please return tempo number to the app ### 2/5 — Used to be great… *2024-05-28* Unfortunately, it hasn’t been updated to deal with the removal of the app transfer function in iTunes - so there’s no way to add files to it anymore. **Developer response:** iTunes transfer still works fine (or in finder). I have it on both an iPad and my iPhone. Very easy to load in songs in word or pdf format using ITunes . If the app allowed auto scrolling on song sheets I’d give it five stars and I’d ask the developer to consider adding this feature ### 4/5 — FANTASTIC APP! *2023-05-28* Hi, I have been using this app for years and love it. The only thing I would like is if you could have the choice of a white or dark background. I find the white background is distracting when using it in a performance. Thanks! All it does is direct me to iTunes, no help at all and a total waste of £2.99. Can I get a refund ?. **Developer response:** The first thing you need to do is add your lyrics to the app, and iTunes is the easiest way to do that. You are better off taking screenshots of lyrics and just using those. ### 1/5 — Garbage *2024-09-10* You can’t even add a song on your iPhone, it all has to be do via iTunes. So backwards… give this a miss it’s an absolute rip off. **Developer response:** iTunes is just one of many ways to add songs. You can delete songs using iTunes or the Files app, or you can go to Settings and enable song deletion - which DOES allow you to delete songs inside the app... just turn it off before a gig! Don’t waste you money. *2023-02-17* Dreadful app - the developer cannot be a gigging musician to have produced something as unpractical as this. You cannot move lyrics already installed on your iPad or smartphone directly to this app. You have to use a computer with iTunes to generate a suitable file for transferring your lyrics to this app. I have all my lyrics on my iPad already contained in Apple’s Notes app - they are not on my computer as I back up to iCloud. Also you cannot copy and paste lyrics from the Internet and paste them directly into this app. I bought this App for ease of use and speed. However you don't need to go through iTunes. As a singer entertainer of Urdu & Hindi Geet and Ghazals it has been the perfect app for me. It provided me with the ability to maintain list of song lyrics, create song lyric lists (by original singers, concert program, etc. etc.), ability to pull up lyrics at a moment’s notice during a live performance. ### 5/5 — Just What I Needed! *2024-03-29* I love this app. It has just the right amount of functionality without a lot of extra complications. I gig in multiple bands, mostly as a keyboard player (so it doesn’t have to be just lyrics). I make my lead sheets and print them as PDFs, AirDrop them to the iPad into My Lyric Book. Set lists can be made for multiple bands/events with different sets of song selections, and edited/re-ordered (drag and drop) as shows evolve. And the low price! Thank you ### 5/5 — Everything and then some *2024-01-03* This is an amazing app for a performing cover band musician like me. I read some of the low star reviews and I don’t get it. It seems like they didn’t spend a couple minutes in the app before using it. They just expected it to work the way they imagined it to. Ian’s support is fast and intelligent. It is loaded with features, even some I don’t use, and is extremely easy to load charts from Google Drive. I’m trying to talk my keyboard players into using it so they can get automatic patch changes and we won’t have to wait for them during performances. And it’s almost free! How can anyone complain about the price !? I hope they sell a million of them! ### 5/5 — My Lyric Book *2023-04-07* I have used this app on stage and at rehearsals and studio and at singaround jam sessions for as long as it has existed and I love it but a few issues with it have cropped up for my use anyway: 1. There is no built in search engine to find random requests and such like. 2. I was using it with backing tracks(mainly my own) but now I can’t load up my latest backing tracks, as the only backing track option is to choose from my iTunes purchases library, which I can no longer update, due to stupid legal reasons! Why can’t you just use or enable the app to link to an MP3 player instead of having to use iTunes? My old iPad 1 still plays everything beautifully, but I can’t update the machine because it is too old, and software updates aren’t available for it! I’m able to use the app and load all my PDF lyrics and even JPEGs on my subsequent two iPads which are newer, but still can’t load a batch of backing tracks! Very annoying. I’m currently experimenting with using a different stand alone mp3 player, but I’m having troubles trying to find the correct tracks when I need them to play, due to the small display and lack of search and cue functionality of the aforementioned MP3 player. Have you any plans to update the app with this functionality or do you have any helpful suggestions as to how I should get around these issues??? I have used My Lyric Book with my iPad Pro on stage and at practices. It works perfectly with my Pageflip page turner. We’ve set up a master and slave other iPads on stage that have the app and PDFs. They sync flawlessly. 2 suggestions for upgrades: It would be great if PDFs could be downloaded to the iPad folder directly from Dropbox and Google Drive. Adding an “edit” layer over the PDFs for on-screen markups would be a good feature. Keep up the excellent work! ### 5/5 — Simple and effective *2020-05-04* I was looking for an app that would display 2-column pdf lyric sheets, because I didn’t want to deal with scrolling. Plus I wanted to have backing tracks at a touch of a button. This app accomplished the combining of lyrics and tracks, simply and effectively. I also like the metronome bpm for each song. I have all my songs on my iPad, and I make lists to put them in groups for each band I play with. I make set lists for events, for easy page turning and set tempos too for counting off. ### 5/5 — Simple and very economic *2019-01-20* I needed something that would allow me to make set-lists and to also have my full repertoire on hand. I checked with Ian whether this app would work and be simple to use and oh yes, it it and it does. I can edit lyrics on my MacBook and AirPlay to my iPad. So what? What’s the big deal with that and you would be right to ask. Well, no need for iTunes, and when sending the lyrics, they automatically get listed automatically (make sure you title your edited lyric sheet on your PC/Mac). I don’t understand how or why other purchasers had a problem - I’m not technical but this is sooo easy! Excellent value; great piece of kit.
