## What is My Markups?

My Markups is the calm, professional way to mark up PDF building plans — on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Open a drawing, pin the work where it happens, track every item to completion, and hand over a clean record when the job is done.

Built for data and structured cabling engineers, site engineers, electricians, fit-out teams, surveyors and project managers — anyone working between a set of plans and the real building.

DATA AND STRUCTURED CABLING

Purpose-built for cabling work. Drop a data pin at every outlet, mark each comms room and cabinet, and link every point to the cabinet it patches back to — the floor plan then shows exactly what feeds where. Search a drawing for any room or outlet number, scan asset tags straight onto a pin, and keep your Cat6, Cat6A and fibre schedules and test records in built-in spreadsheets. First fix, second fix and complete status on every point.

THE DRAWING IS THE HUB

- Fast PDF viewer — pan, zoom and rotate large drawings; A0 and A1 sheets stay crisp.
- Search inside a drawing — find any room number, outlet ID or printed text, with each match zoomed to on tap.
- Compare two drawings side by side to cross-reference plans.
- Drawing layers — sketch, redline and annotate, with show/hide and opacity, never altering the original PDF.

PIN THE WORK

- Place pins where the work happens — by type (data, power, fire, plumbing, comms or custom), colour or status.
- Cabinet pins — mark where cabinets and comms rooms sit, link points to them, and see clean connection lines from each pin to its cabinet.
- Every pin holds context — photos, files, tasks, notes and contacts live with the location.

TRACK PROGRESS

- Tasks on every pin — owner, due date, priority and trade. Complete items straight from the plan.
- Built-in timesheet — clock in, clock out and log breaks, with a clear Total, Breaks and Net summary you can share, calendar history and optional GPS.
- Photos attach to a pin, a task or a plan.

RECORDS THAT TRAVEL WITH THE JOB

- Built-in spreadsheets — cable schedules, test results, snag lists and QA sign-offs, exporting to modern Excel. View existing Excel files full-screen too.
- Project files, notes and a contacts directory — datasheets, method statements and RFIs kept against the job.
- Barcode and QR scanning — capture serials and asset tags straight into the right pin or task.

CLEAN HANDOVER, EVERY TIME

Export a project as a handover bundle — flattened annotated PDFs, an HTML summary, the original files, and an Excel workbook of pins, tasks, photos and notes. Recipients open it in any browser or Excel, no account required. Or share a single drawing, record or flattened PDF to AirDrop, Mail, Files and Finder. Importing a backup? Preview it first, then pick exactly what to bring in — imports never overwrite existing files.

BUILT FOR SITE TEAMS

- One app across platforms — start on iPhone in the van, continue on iPad on site, finish on Mac.
- iOS: Apple Pencil or finger. Mac: full trackpad, mouse and keyboard support.
- Plain-English help built into every section.

ON-DEVICE BY DESIGN

Your projects, plans, photos and contacts live on the device you use — no required account, no required servers, no third-party trackers.

STILL GROWING

My Markups is in active development. A web version and an Android app are on the way, with optional cross-device syncing across phone, tablet, desktop and web.

PRO

A free tier covers everyday markup and small jobs. Pro removes the per-job and monthly limits — unlimited projects, drawings, exports, imports and barcode scans. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled in the App Store.

Use of My Markups is covered by our Terms of Use — Apple's standard licence agreement, at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ — which, with our Privacy Policy, is linked inside the app.

Built and supported by a small UK team that uses it on real jobs every week.

What's New in MyMarkups

NEW FEATURES

Built-in Timesheet
Clock in when you arrive on site, clock out when you leave, and log breaks throughout the day, all from the project hub. Every entry is editable, you can jump to any past day from a calendar view, type times the casual way ("845am", "1230pm"), tag entries with optional GPS, and add notes to explain time away. Shareable summaries give a clear Total, Breaks and Net breakdown.

Cabinet Pins
Mark a pin as a cabinet to record where cabinets sit in a building, then link other pins to it. Tap a cabinet to highlight everything connected to it, with clean connection lines drawn between the pins and their cabinet. A toggle shows connections for just the selected cabinet, all of them, or none.

Search Inside Drawings
Search the text of any PDF drawing, including room numbers, equipment labels and anything printed on the sheet. Results appear in a side list, matches are highlighted, and tapping one zooms straight to it.

Side-by-Side Drawing Comparison
Open two drawings at once to cross-reference them. They sit side by side on iPad and Mac, and a Compare toggle flips between them on iPhone.

Drawing Layers
Show, hide, reorder and adjust the opacity of markup layers, each with a simple eye toggle.

Inspect and Selectively Import Backups
Open any backup file and preview everything inside it, including pins, photos, PDFs, tasks, notes and contacts, without touching your existing data. Then choose exactly what to import. Imports never overwrite your existing files.

Spreadsheet Viewer
Tap an Excel file to open it full-screen with full formatting. Long-press to edit it in Excel or Numbers and bring the edited version back.

Help on Every Section
Tap the information icon on any project tile for a clear, plain-English guide to what it does and how to use it.

IMPROVEMENTS

- Proper Mac support, with a real menu bar, keyboard shortcuts, sensible window sizing, hover states and click-and-drag panning in the drawing viewer.
- Smarter pin sizing, so pins stay a consistent size on screen at any zoom level and export at a size that suits the page.
- You can now attach multiple photos to a task right when you create it.
- A more generous free tier, with higher monthly limits, a sample project that no longer uses up your quota, and calmer upgrade prompts.
- The first-launch welcome screen has been rebuilt to fit every device from iPhone SE (3rd generation) up to iPad Pro 12.9 inch.
- A cleaner timesheet layout, with a clearer hierarchy, bolder day headers and swipe to delete.

BUG FIXES

- Editing a timesheet entry's start or end time now saves reliably.
- Zero-duration timesheet entries can now be deleted, with a confirmation before removing a whole session.
- Spreadsheet files now open full-screen instead of in a small box.
- Pins no longer appear oversized when placed while zoomed in.
- The layers panel no longer flickers shut when opened.
- App version numbers are now consistent across the app and its share extension.
- The welcome screen no longer hides the Accept button on small screens.

### 1.4 — 2026-05-14

This is not a final fix, this is an emergency fix.
