Just wish we had an option for VHS tapes ### 3/5 — Glitchy *2026-06-30, version 6.18* Overall I like the app. It helps me keep my collection organized and I like that I can create tags for easy searching. My biggest qualm is how glitchy the app can be. I’ve had My Movies since 2, and it seems to still have same issue. Randomly it will have issues with synching, forcing me to remove and redownload the app. This time around I’ve tried removing and redownloading multiple times and it still freezes when I try to log in. But, emailed customer service three times over the past couple of years with zero response. What’s really annoying is how previous versions simply disable the add movie feature, with the Software Depreciation notification being displayed instead. Some form of warning would have been nice, other than dipping immediately into my pocket to simply add one more movie over the cap of 50. Another app that is forcing a subscription; however, the iPhone and iPad versions are well priced with mac version definitely hitting the subscription fatigue button. If I’ve ever seen missing info or titles, the app creator quickly gets the info added to his database. The bar code scan process makes it easy to add an existing library of media and they have a lot of useful information. The yearly cost of the subscription option we have is less than a single new title added to your collection that year. Version 3 have been deprecated for many, many years, and due to security updates on our service, it will be unable to use the service after April 15'th. But when you find issues and tell them, they claim to fix it but your data will never see the update. Also YOU cannot edit movie titles or sorts. They do alphabetical sort ONLY. All movie titles sort with A or The in the titles. Our support have checked your account, and have written you directly - there is not anyone who are removing anything, but you have originally purchased version 4, and have then loaded the latest version 6 - your full collection is available on your user account, but the free version of version 6 will synchronise only 50 titles, until a subscription trial, or a purchase of this version is made - we release a new major version every second year, where users on subscriptions is automatically upgraded, and users on purchased versions if offered a half price upgrade during the release month. You can re-install version 4 from the purchased section of the App Store. Scanning in movies with the UPC code is flawless and quick.
