## What is My Music Jr?

My Music Jr — for parents

What it is: My Music Jr helps children learn music fundamentals in a playful, game-based way. They explore sound, learn to read the treble staff, map notes to the piano keyboard, and practice putting reading and playing together in Staff, Keys, and combined Staff & Keys activities. Sessions are built as short rounds with clear goals, so practice fits into everyday life.

Why music matters: Music supports more than “lessons”—it nurtures listening, memory, attention, and fine motor skills. Children learn to connect symbols with sound and movement, which builds confidence and patience. You don’t need a concert career in mind; even light, regular musical play can enrich how a child learns and expresses themselves.

How it teaches: The app uses multi-sensory learning: children see notation or note names, hear piano tones, and tap on-screen keys. Staff games stress quick recognition of lines and spaces; Keys games connect those ideas to the keyboard; Staff & Keys games combine both so skills transfer to real playing. Many stages unlock as your child improves, so difficulty grows in steps instead of all at once. Timers, scores, and gentle “game over” style feedback keep things lively without harsh judgment.

Engagement & progress: Friendly characters and short video moments reward milestones and break up drills. A score board keeps track of your progress—a simple way to celebrate effort. Start a fresh run from the beginning when you want a new “campaign” of practice.

Tips for home: Prefer brief daily sessions over rare long ones. When you can, sit with your child at home and have them find the same notes they see in the app. Ask them to teach you what they learned—retelling reinforces memory. Balance screen time with listening to real music together.
