Notifications were no issue but My Olive is not listed on the Bluetooth access screen to give access. It updates and shows the new version. Then next time I log in it tells me I need to update again. This has happened every day. Also it show one of ears is not working but I can tell it is. I could not get the app to work on my iPhone or iPad. I deleted app three times on each of them and still could not get it to work. Every time I connected olives to Bluetooth and then added app to Bluetooth I got the log in screen, I entered my details and then app just sat at first screen not doing anything, when I looked back at Bluetooth settings the app was not connected, if I connected it again the app went back to log in screen and I went through the same thing, just the first screen. I’m disappointed that this is happening because it worked very well before. ### 2/5 — So sorry *2023-08-24* The best part is the price. And it has the potential to be a decent, not outstanding, Hearing Aid. The worst part is the app connecting is just short of a nightmare in 2023. Paired it to my iPhone and started hearing music right away. When I opened my app it said in needed Bluetooth permissions (which were already granted). I switched off my phone deleted the app and re installed and I still can’t get past the opening page that requires me to check the Allow Bluetooth box. Thought I would give these a try and they are just terrible+ Companies responses to bad so sad you bought them from Kickstarter not from us so we’re not even going to stand behind the 30 day warranty lol good company ..not ### 1/5 — Hearing test is pretty bad *2023-02-09* I heard nothing in the left ear during the hearing test. Granted, I have moderate to severe loss in that ear, but to hear NOTHING? I would like to be able to enter a professional audiogram. Music pauses whenever switching to this app, making it impossible to set up a good EQ. Bluetooth drops sometimes. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terrible Company, Worse App *2025-09-15* DO NOT BUY THESE. GET EARPODS. ITS THE BETTER CONNECTIVITY AND APPS. These “hearing aids” (which they promised as for severe hearing loss without checking local regulations and then went back on *AFTER* customers had already bought) is very much like they’re app, which constantly breaks before you can use it at all. This is possibly the worst app I’ve ever used and one of the worst bits of tech I’ve ever owned. ### 1/5 — Waste of $$ *2025-09-14* Earbuds are connected to my phone via Bluetooth. I purchased the Olive Air aids and the app stopped working. I can no longer log in. When I try the app just brings me back to the permissions page. I have been in contact with customer service/ support and done everything they suggested with no luck. I don’t use them as often as I should. But they’ve worked really well for me. If there’s an issue with the App, reinstall it. It does work and is pretty cool. No problem. Set up was easy using the app, which is updated regularly. My Pros work very well in most situations but need some adjustments while I’m using them. Thank you Olive Pro. ### 4/5 — User Experience Review *2021-09-19, version 1.0.11* This review is about the My Olive app, AND the Olive Pro hearing aids; you can’t have one without the other. I’ve been using my Olive Pros daily for a month now. They are the first hearing aids I’ve ever used, so I don’t have any direct experience to compare them to. My INdirect experience consists of listening to my mother lament for years about how much $ she was spending on traditional, audiologist-programmed units, and how They Still Didn’t Work. So, it’s in that light which I evaluate the Olive Pro. Short version: they seem satisfactory. They definitely help me hear things, and I’m told I no longer shout at people when I’m wearing them. The great thing about the Olive Pro app is that you - the user - can change the settings of the hearing aid at any time, for optimal hearing in whatever environment you may be in. I fiddle with the configuration a lot; all the different controls. Sometimes I’ll even go to Settings -> Hearing History, and hit “Reset” to max out the volume. But, I find that I’m mostly sticking with the profile generated by the Hearing Test, and then tweak the EQ and other widgets from there. I suspect I’m running them a bit loud - I almost always have the volume cranked up to 10. I suspect part of me is saying, “I want to HEAR, dammit!” - like Super Hearing - perhaps a sort of overreaction to having Not heard well for years. So, I’m trying to dial them back down to where they let me hear ‘normally’ - insofar as I can figure what that is. Also, I am not an ‘audiofile’, but I like to listen to music, and the Olive Pros serve quite well as wireless ‘earbuds.’ The Olive app provides a separate EQ widget for tweaking the sound profile of music, should you want to. It also works well with my phone, allowing me to answer calls, talk, and end calls. Everyone’s experience is going to be different. For me, for right now, I’m satisfied that they were worth what I paid, and are reasonably effective at helping me hear. ### 4/5 — Better than other reviews suggest *2021-09-05, version 1.0.9* Hybrid between ear buds and a hearing aid for those of us with hearing issues. Way better than standard NHS issue kit giving more control to the user carries out hearing tests for each ear and suggests suitable profiles or you can make changes to suit your audiology tests. Sound quality not great as I have not attempted to get any bass, My own hearing profile is complicated by having an inner ear dehiscence which amplifies various frequencies rather than blocking them. Musicians ear plugs have helped a bit but will review the Olive again in a couple of months ### 4/5 — Really satisfied *2021-09-01, version 1.0.7* I have had $3,000+ and $2,100 hearing aids for a mild to moderate hearing loss. Returned them all as all they were, was amplification. Any control or changes meant more $$$ and another visit to the hearing doctor. . My olive pro is far superior in that I can control all the features from my iPhone or iPad. Just amazing ‼️ And all for considerably less $. . Phone calls and online YouTube streams right in and are not heard by anyone else. Don't use the music part yet, and I bet it works just as well. . Thank you. I did do a flash update this morning ### 4/5 — On the right track *2021-08-09* The Bluetooth connection was flawless and getting started instructions were clear. I went through the hearing test and I definitely recommend finding the most quiet room you can find. The results were very close to a professional hearing exam. I like the ability to control the EQ per ear (I only have issues with my left ear) and the settings are as simple as I would expect. My only concern is I can’t get the volume boost as high as I need to come close to my hearing aid. I’m guessing there are some limits intentionally added as it’s a consumer-controlled vs professional-controlled device, but for now, I’ll stick with my hearing aid as this won’t cut it until the volume can be boosted a lot more. ### 4/5 — Works as advertised *2021-08-06, version 0.0.20* I just received my Olive Pros today. The app connected flawlessly and all the adjustments work. Music sounds fantastic! I had just purchased Bose QC earbuds and I’d say the noise cancellation is on par. My first attempt at the hearing test wasn’t accurate and I intend to retest. I normally wear hearing aids but with my limited test…they seem really good.
