### 4/5 — Oneapp

*2026-08-21, version 5.2.1*

Better than before

### 4/5 — Security Features Need Improvement

*2026-08-20, version 5.2.1*

Given the recent trend in mpesa centered scams, I think there’s a need to lock down the app to curtail logins on second devices; especially with 2 factor authentication to a main device to block logins. I like the convenience of the app; but I appreciate that security could be improved for second devices - as scammers can use the app and an ID no to log in on a second device apart from the main user.
Otherwise, convenient app.

### 2/5 — What happened!! Got worse

*2026-08-20, version 5.2.0*

This version got worse. Takes too long to open. And the IOS version sends me to Google play store when there is a notification. Please fix the bugs

### 3/5 — Mr

*2026-08-19, version 5.2.0*

Lag sometimes

### 3/5 — Feels vibe coded

*2026-07-08, version 5.1.7*

App is just busy with all of the options, items, and navigation. Like some was like “Give me everything right here”.

to the developers credit, things have been improving. Outside of back office/business decisions, I don’t see how this is an improvement over the older mpesa app

### 2/5 — Font size & Safaricom Button

*2026-06-05, version 5.1.6*

Fonts are too small. The large green Safaricom log at the bottom is too close to the “ok” button - once you ready to pay - and ‘attracts the eye’ to click on it - of course leading to a no transaction. Plus, in contrast the “ok” is too small (again small fonts). Hence 2 stars. Waiting for improvement for a higher score.

### 3/5 — A decent app but needs some improvements

*2026-05-25, version 5.1.5*

The previous Mpesa app had a feature where you could put a note of what you were paying for as a reference, this new combined app does not have that feature which is a downgrade. Safaricom, can you please add that feature.

### 1/5 — MPESA GLOBAL

*2026-05-25, version 5.1.5*

mpesa-global doesn’t work anymore since the new update May 12 2026

### 1/5 — They may it worse

*2026-05-25, version 5.1.5*

Used to be the best app for moving mpesa. Now it’s been overdesigned, crashes, buggy and has added steps and can’t work overseas, can’t use Face ID, has overlapping buttons. Lame. They broke it.

### 1/5 — Terrible update

*2026-05-23, version 5.1.5*

This app is terrible now. So many glitches, the worst one has forced me to write this review. I searched my contacts to send money, selected the intended recipient but the app chose another from that search list. Careful using this nonsense app as you will have to bother with reversing processes

### 1/5 — My One-App is absolutely terrible

*2026-05-17, version 5.1.5*

The M-Pesa App used to be perfect! It didn’t need to be fixed.
Now come to the My- OneApp! you can’t even log in to it if you aren’t in Kenya.
You should’ve left the M-Pesa App the way it was.

### 1/5 — Useless app

*2026-05-15, version 5.1.5*

Most useless SAFARICOM app! It keeps on not recognizing the eSIM on my latest Iphone I have to login the data every time whenever I am on my WiFi connection.

### 1/5 — Mpesa

*2026-05-15, version 5.1.5*

This is absolutely trash

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work in the diaspora

*2026-05-15, version 5.1.5*

Please consider your user-base in the diaspora and revisit implementation. This app doesn’t work for me even when I make my safaricom line the primary.

### 1/5 — Horrible redesign

*2026-05-14, version 5.1.5*

This is maybe the worst redesign of a leading app that an entire country uses as literal payment Infrastructure. I have never in my life even thought about the Safari Comm MPESA app because it just worked. This one added multiple key strokes, multiple layers of menus for every single thing you might want to do with it, extremely annoying. How did such a large company with infinite resources screw this up so completely?

### 2/5 — My-Overcompensating App

*2026-05-14, version 5.1.5*

Safaricom had a great system were the had a mobile payment app and telecom services app. I want that system back, no one was asking for a combination of the two apps. Look online and you see people complaining about the implementation of this new “one app”. There’s zero customization on which services I want on my Home Screen. I’m being shown services that have nothing to do with me, things that I actually use hidden under settings or other functions. Not to mention this annoying thing of the app not working over WiFi! What kinda BS is that? Biometric verification constantly breaks, it’s like they took a functioning app and replaced it with nonsense. I still can’t add custom categories for spending. So Safaricom please focus on features that enhance the usability of an app rather than forcing things down users throats. Don’t be like Microsoft.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Broken App

*2026-08-14, version 5.1.11*

App is constantly crashing and doesn’t go past inputting pin at times with a server error code. M-Pesa app was way better and should be brought back

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work like it should

*2026-08-07, version 5.1.11*

The features the app says it has don’t work like they should. I much prefer the old MPESA app, but that is no longer an option. Please fix these glitches to make this app function as it should.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2026-07-07, version 5.1.7*

Bring back the old Mpesa app!

### 1/5 — It is buggy and ugly

*2026-06-23, version 5.1.7*

Nothing works as expected and the UI is horrendous. Everyone involved should be ashamed at releasing this to the public

### 1/5 — If it’s not broken, don’t fix it

*2026-06-22, version 5.1.7*

The old MPESA app was working just fine. For some reason, some genius over there at Safaricom thought it’d be “beneficial” to create this new piece of garbage.

The app is incredibly slow, faulty, and is a major inconvenience for daily users.

I’ve reverted to using the USSD code - do not waste your time on this app.

### 1/5 — 👎

*2026-06-16, version 5.1.7*

If there was a negative star, I would give it… based abroad. I have tried numerous time to install and have this working for 3 since it launched..even with the (sic) help of customer service to no avail! Surely Safaricom, y’all can do better! Why do I have to connect to mobile??..turn WiFi Off..ok…Oh no!..you have lost network connection!! Endless loop!! 😡🤬🤬

### 1/5 — Software perspective

*2026-06-05, version 5.1.6*

This is really bad genuine downgrade. I have emerald post pay I can’t see my information. Every other day it just doesn’t work for transactions it’s loading time is slow and the ui is less straight to the point than the previous mpesa app. I’m also sure you know that the name of the app is horrible

### 1/5 — Fake apps

*2026-05-29, version 5.1.6*

This apps destroy economy diaspora Kenyan

### 1/5 — My One App Is the WORST!

*2026-05-28, version 5.1.6*

As we all know, Mpesa and Safaricom were two different apps that had their own functions and beauty in them, they are the best mobile cash app in Kenya. That is until Safaricom decided to combine the two together and replace Mpesa for a buggy app that very much gives off the rushed app vibe. They didnt even stick a foot in this app It is just to buggy. I am here trying to opt in my virtual card and after verifying that its me with pin/face id on my iphone, It takes 60 seconds to verify and then brings me back to the page where I have to opt in again. Such a disappointment. We never asked for this we were just given this stupid update

### 1/5 — Inaccessible

*2026-05-25, version 5.1.5*

I can’t seem to access my Mpesa after the switch up from the old app.
