Always trying to find a way to make it work properly. No assistance from the help people only people that will help other people who are stuck in the mud trying to work it out as well. it loses files you have to go and find somebody to try and find them restore them, but I refused. I’d rather just throw the device in the bin. actually, a better thing for this device is to make it a paperweight for your desk. ### 5/5 — My passport software/hardware *2023-02-12* What a great little portable hardware/storage/server/software. This app is just great!! Easy to use, very simple to move around in and connect too. There is lots of help and support from the community and technical support. I had to get it replaced one time because of a hardware issue but it was shipped in and replaced with in a week. The app I can access from anywhere in the world and hook in to my server and extract any files or documents or anything I store on it from anywhere I want, I have had this program and the hardware for over 5 years now and it has never let me down, not even once. Thank y’all for making this app/software and the sever/storage unit that goes along with it. Great job look forward to the next product release that can bring me and other people the same easy access and less headache then most of these technical logical devices were you need major, switchboard, and stuff just to set it up and have a server room is all did a great job with having compact portable that has a great software that goes with it….. ### 1/5 — Locked out can’t sign up or sign in! *2023-01-24* I have a mycloud 4tb external hard drive After the new ios5 I couldn’t sign in I’ve asked for help and got several emails ahs still can’t figure out how to access my 3tb of videos and photos The passnumber required for manual sign in is not the required digit number I’m thinking of Seagate in the future! Why is it so damn hard to figure this out! I had no problems for years with the blue mycloud app. What’s the difference between mycloud, and mycloud home app.? Please reply this is costing me money as I’m a youtuber and photographer CFC66 Ron 🇨🇦 ### 1/5 — Can no longer access my device after updates *2022-11-25* Even in local mode, I can no longer access my device. This device was supposed to be for safety and backup. Talk about safety and backup now. I cannot believe WD made changes that makes their device completely useless. I’m going to dismantle it and keeps the drives. Hopefully, I’ll be able to read the data from these drives. For sure, I’ll never buy a wd product any more. Not safe enough. ### 1/5 — It’s still broken, 0 stars. *2022-09-22* This App does not support the listed My Passport Wireless devices. The last working version of the App was 4.4.28 & all versions since fail to connect. The App can see and correctly identifies the drive, but when it tries to connect it generates a “WDGeneralNetworkError error 500”. It has the same error if you try to connect directly to the drive network or via a local network. A device still running on version 4.4.28 still works correctly. This would indicate that there is nothing wrong with the drive or its settings. This version fails on both iPhones and iPads, they are all running the latest IOS version. All devices are still able to access the Admin screen via Safari browser, and everything shows as functioning correctly on this screen. A MacBook Pro can also correctly access the drive through either network. I am an IT Professional and have worked with a lot of WD products. I find this current situation very disappointing. Version 4.4.28 needs to be made available until this problem is resolved. ### 1/5 — Why? *2022-07-30* Why has WD somehow changed this app in their move to their upgraded 5 operating system? I was quite happy with my “my cloud” drive using it locally only but now instead of doing the sensible thing and bringing out new software to support their new products and leaving the old one there for consumers not wishing to upgrade but without support or further updates they have somehow renamed renewed and imposed this new passport app on my devices that will not work my drive. I am not happy with WD and will never purchase their products again, my drive is only 6 years old at most and is still only 30% full. The planet should not consign this to landfill it’s perfectly useful and usable. Never buying another WD product in my life! ### 1/5 — 15 April *2022-04-20* Now that cloud service has been deleted I can’t get to my files on this app on LAN either. ### 4/5 — Gets the job done but streaming to mobile isn’t great *2022-03-22, version 4.4.28* While it works to confirm downloading of media from sd card, playback of videos is staticky or buffering a lot. Takes a while to flip through photos too. Since I only need to deeply view photos in editing this doesn’t bother me to much since I can view them after connecting the device to my computer. It is great having something I can use to save media without the use of a phone to initiate the download of media.
