This game is awesome
I like you can make planets collide and unlock stuff.
A solid 4 star. Could use some improvements w updates.
It’s super difficult to get planets and moons into a stable orbit. I would love to see developers make a setting for this- like “show possible stable orbits for this body” as a setting for moons, planets, rocky asteroids etc. An additional option “show orbits within habitable zone” would be “stellar”. Ha ha. Changes in habitable zone shown for individual planets based on factors like size, atmosphere thickness, etc would also be great. Different kinds of moons, some of which can also support life, would be a great addition. Suggestions for changes the player can make to planet size/ composition/ mass to make a desired orbit possible, would be even better. Option to simply force a physically impossible orbit, if you just wanna have fun with a super size planet, also would be cool. More information on life forms. More settings for Planets- land mass, continents, archipelago , ocean and ice, thickness and composition of atmosphere, composition of rock, all could be incredible ways to customize and create more incredible worlds.
Different star types, and especially binary and trinary systems with planets which can orbit in a stable way, would be another suggestion. This is a particular issue since we are learning that systems with multiple stars are quite common.
Game is fun enough that I keep returning to it periodically, but the issues with orbits make me often resort to slapping planets and moons into “locked” position, to stop them flying off into deep space, or gradually spiralling into their sun.
Also, very simple fix- description of the different star and planet characteristics, like the lifespan of stars, heat, etc, would be a bonus for younger players or any other people who don’t have a lot of Astronomy/ science background, but just think space is cool, and are learning.
I realize these updates or changes would be a substantial amount of dev work, but perhaps it could be a “paid” version, selling for a few $? Or a 2.0? It’s been a long time since this game was released, maybe time for a sequel with an option to buy a more complete version?
