You could add a pipette tool, a gradient-style color graph, (or whatever you call it) maybe even a feature that lets you start with a blank slate. (A Steve skin or maybe even a white one) You could also add a feature that allows you to change the color of the background. If somebody accidentally pressed the ‘main’ button when editing a skin, there should be like a popup warning like when you delete a skin.
