Now I can’t remove the bike picture from the black lozenge, even when the app is not running. I have to stop tracking and restart my phone to get rid of it. 2nd, I’ve now tried to track a ride twice. I pause the ride for a tea, and then resume it. When I get home, I find it has lost half my ride. It offers to save my ride, but it never adds to my activities? The ride recording was also useful. Now - the battery drains too fast and my last 3 rides have lost connection well before the end of the ride. This app is now pointless. It was fine before; stable; convenient; opened and closed without drama. Current version is very heavy on battery, consistently drops connection, fails to record full ride and then is impossible to finish using the app without closing down phone. Je pouvais me servir de mon moniteur cardiaque pour guider l’assistance selon le max HR de mon choix. Maintenant c’est complètement erratique. Le temps ne s’enregistre pas bien ( lac de plusieurs minutes), les zones de fréquences cardiaques sont complètement erronées (indique toujours zone 4 même si je suis en zone 1) et après environ 1 heure d’utilisation manuelle, les changements d’assistance (+ ou -) de l’application ne répondent plus en temps réel. Je me sers uniquement du bouton de changement d’assistance sur le vélo tellement ça fonctionne mal. Vraiment décevant après une première année d’utilisation parfaite! Now the power drops after 20 minutes. The app still uses my whole phone battery after 2 hours so I now have to ride with a power bank for the phone. The app also slows way down after an hour or so. PLEASE fix the app! ### 1/5 — Poor since upgrade *2026-08-09, version 3.0.2* This app used to be so good and now it barely functions after the recent update. Issues include - app crashing, loss of sync with Strava (and difficult to re-establish) and notifications on the lock screen now just appear as a black box. Tried various settings but there doesn’t seem to be any support. Looked on a few forums. Nothing. Incorrect information saved ie: milage records of the bike. ### 1/5 — Bad update *2026-08-02, version 3.0.2* I installed the updated version this morning on my iPhone 15 with latest version of iOS & a very good battery. The new app refused to link to Strava, so I just thought I’d look in to that later…. My iPhone was at 87% battery at the beginning of my ride, but after only 75 minutes the phone battery was down to 10% so the iPhone went into power save mode and the app auto-paused and lost all ride data. Fortunately, I was only 20 minutes from home. I checked the phone when I got home and looked at battery usage stats - this app alone consumed 74% of the battery during the ride. The app may be OK for short rides, but is completely useless for a ‘normal’ ride. This issue really needs fixing fast as leaving a rider stranded with a flat phone battery, or with no means of being location tracked via their phone is a safety concern. Until then, I’ll need to take a second phone with me on a ride. ### 1/5 — Useless since major update! *2026-07-30, version 3.0.2* I’d used the previous version of the app for 18 months without issue. Since the update the app crashes during every activity, usually within the first 15 minutes of the ride and all ride data is lost. Motor maps are frequently unavailable. I’ve uninstalled the app completely, cleared cache and reinstalled it, made no difference whatsoever. Totally pointless using it now, I simply use it at the start of a ride to set the Smart Assist level then forget about it. Annoying! ### 1/5 — Mahle Assist *2026-07-25, version 3.0.2* Yet more problems with Mahle, this time data has gone and cannot connect to bike regardless of how many times I delete App and reinstall. ### 1/5 — Appalling app since update *2026-07-24, version 3.0.2* I’ve used this for 2 years no issues now in last few weeks it’s not fit for purpose. Not only does it drain battery I can’t access motor maps, it cuts out mid ride and I loose all data. I can’t find data such as levels of power used in a ride if it does save even save part of a ride. And although connected to strava it’s ceases to upload. I’ve tried all suggested remedies to no avail. Avoid if you have any other choices unfortunately I’m stuck with it and stuck with my last motor map assigned and no ability to change. Start a new ride and there’s an option to save the previous (crashed) ride, which in theory seems ok, except it doesn’t actually save that ride!! Does what I want. It keeps improving. Links with Strava. ### 5/5 — Great App, 3.0 update is customizable! *2026-06-03* I own 2 Cannondale e-bikes and my wife owns one, all on the Mahle X-35 system. The My SmartBike app has worked well for us without the problems others have had. With the latest 3.0 update Mahle reduced some of the total amount of screens to swipe across, which is great. I only want certain data fields when riding and can customize the screen and put them all on one screen so I don’t have to swipe between fields just to see them. Also, I wear a heart rate monitor and always had to swipe between multiple screens just to link it at the start of my ride. Now it is only one swipe to the right, which is a huge improvement. I wish once you connect it all future rides would look for it and auto connect. The latest update reset a few things. Like my first ride after the update my battery drained quite a bit. Come to find out I had to reselect to auto dim the display, which greatly saves on battery. I used to be able to see all 3 bikes I own in the app, now I can only see one at a time and cannot switch to another bike unless it is powered on in front of me. I don’t see the reason for that and do not like that change. Even now I might want to access the data for another bike but it only remembers the last bike I connected to. Please add a way to see all my bikes in the app. They have also added a feature to start with lights on or off, and start with an assist level or not. It is great to have such options. Any customizations like that, please kerp adding them! User customization is always good. Also, please either remove or give the option to turn off the video EVERY TIME the app starts up. I feel like it lengthens the time to start the app, and I do not care to see four different people spinning on their bikes every time I start the app. Just a “Mahle” splash screen is adequate and will make your app that less bloated. If you don’t access the app for a while you will likely get logged out and need to log back in again. It’s a safety feature that many apps use. If you’re savvy enough to use this app you should be savvy enough to save your user name and password in a password manager so when you do need to log in, you have that information easily accessible. I think I have to do it 2-3x per year, and do not find it to be a big deal. ### 5/5 — Happy cyclist *2026-02-25, version 2.5.0* The app is fine.
