Hive works fine here, as does Google Home. This app continually loses connection or shows as offline. Have tried everything. Save your money and just use the hardwired thermostat. ### 1/5 — Big drawback is the 2.4GHz connectivity *2020-11-25, version 2.5.1* So after some reading through the comments here, the only way I got this to work was to log into my WiFi hub and disable the 5GHz frequency that my phone with the app was connecting to by default. Once the hub was limited to 2.4GHz the phone / app connected to the thermostat OK. I was then able to re-enable the 5GHz frequency and the communication between phone / app and thermostat continued OK. As for the app itself, it’s very dumb compared with Nest / Hive, allowing only 3 on/off pairings per day Monday - Friday, Saturday, Sunday. ### 1/5 — Not fit for purpose *2020-10-02, version 2.5.1* As of October 2020 this app has stopped working altogether - probably connected with release 14. The company website isn’t loading either. Avoid avoid avoid ! ————————————- Appallingly designed implementation. Rarely works. Useful features have been removed by the developers with no thought. Just a waste of money. Avoid Thermotouch! Abandoned by developers. Shameful - avoid products by this company. ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2020-06-29, version 2.5.1* The is app is the 1st app I think I have written about, it constantly fails and the only way it will get working again is to reset the whole thing. The whole thing is infuriating. ### 1/5 — Unbelievable rubbish *2020-03-16, version 2.5.1* I cannot believe that the developers have not updated this app for over a year, clearly they are hoping it will simply wither on the vine. I am unable to link to my WiFi because the SSID entry defaults to the word WIFI and does not allow you to enter your own SSID. I would not have installed their underfloor heating if I had known how abysmal their support would be and I have chosen a different offering elsewhere. ### 1/5 — Won’t connect *2020-03-10, version 2.5.1* Really poor app. Can’t connect and therefore can’t change my settings. Please get it sorted ### 1/5 — As much use as a chocolate fire guard if you are intending to use it in Wi-fi mode and via the App. *2019-06-28, version 2.5.1* No matter how close you locate the router to the device it regularly drops out. Virtually useless as part of a remote control of an home automation system as the only thing that can be guaranteed with this product is that when you do need to connect it will have dropped out. Another issue which they don’t tell you need to set it up on 2.4Ghz and it struggles to connect with that......... As a manual stat it works fine but that isn’t what you are paying for. It needs some serious therapy as will anyone shortly after trying to connect it to Wi-fi and expect it to remain connected. ### 1/5 — Broken. *2019-04-24, version 2.5.1* Don’t know what is going on with this app. I can get the device to say its connected after putting in password through app. But app never completes adding device. Just times out and no device in list. Does not help that I had to move the router almost beside the controller before it would “connect”. Though there are a few 2.4 gig networks around here, it would be nice to be able to choose the ssid one wants to connect to on the device and not have the app and device “discover” each other. I get they were probably trying to make it idiot proof, but when things don’t work its almost impossible to troubleshoot. Can’t help thinking more effort was put into how it looks versus making it reliable. Probably have to do some packet capture to see what’s going on, if anything. Good idea, poor implementation. ### 1/5 — Avoid WiFi option *2019-04-16, version 2.5.1* Cannot use this app and the device does not support sky hub. ### 1/5 — Not for Dual Band routers *2019-02-05, version 2.4* I have a TP-LINK Archer 600 dual band router, having upgraded from a SKY router, the Thermotouch wireless thermostat will now not connect! I cannot believe an update has not been done on this??? Obviously now I cannot return the thermostat and it’s useless for the intended purpose!! Money down the drain!! ### 1/5 — Thermotouch WiFi Controller *2019-01-26, version 2.4* Will not install to wifi with out a lot of trouble. Customer suport no help at all. Will not exchange. Timer for one that works only had it for 5week clock gains 3 hours per week they say it only. Works right on internet but will not connect not fit for use ### 1/5 — Thermotouch all wifi connection failed *2018-12-21, version 2.4* I have my en-suite installed with a thermal heated rail and under floor heating. They both worked fine with thermotouch pad controller but I am not able to connect the thermotouch app with WFI on my iPhone. I saw a review on Amazon this reviewer said that it only worked with 2.4 GHz network. I have a dual band network router i seperated my network to 2.4 and 5Ghz and tried to connect it to the 2.4ghz but still unsuccessful. It should be a simple process to connect to wifi and not be this hard. ### 1/5 — Thermotouch *2018-11-02, version 2.1* As above - doesn’t work with a dual band router. Haven’t managed to get it to work. Have to do it manually. ### 1/5 — Totally useless! *2018-10-03, version 2.1* Had two of these installed by my electricians.Whilst setting them up I saw the WiFi logo and got the app which I hoped would be far easier then using the wall mounted device. Tried the app,read the other comments and have to agree with others about the app. I wish I had known how bad it was before the sparkles installed them. The manual for setting up the devices is not helpful,badly written and uninformative. So I have it on manual control which of course defeats the whole point of them Electrician is back next week to discuss removing them and installing something that actually works. Frankly I regret ever buying this product as it’s never worked. The app is useless. The product itself you can’t set to run automatically. If you are (not) lucky it will crash every time you click on a device. The solution then is to delete and restore devices to factory settings. I called Thermosphere abs they said it’s because the app needs to be updated and the developers are on Chinese New Year! Sounds like poor excuses.. If I had known I would not have purchased. I feel duped. Apparently the developers are “working” on the bug but no one knows when that will be. When setting the schedule the time is extremely sensitive and it’s almost impossible to set it on the hour or half hour.
