Used this service for my family on a few trips. It was good value for money but I would recommend looking at Nomad at least in Europe more recently. 

My family has had two occasions to get refunds from Truphone. 

First time was when the auto renew that was on by default kicked in. This feels like not friendly practice. Truphone refunded without question. 

Second time they started charging a different family member for no apparent reason with no plan available. Refund was immediate after contacting but no explanation as to why the erroneous charge.

Die App ist grottig. Miserable Benutzerführung, wodurch es eine Weile gedauert hat, eine SIM zu kaufen. Eine richtige Rechnung bekommt man nicht, der Support kann mir auch keine zusenden. Für geschäftliche Nutzung also nicht geeignet. Immerhin hat die SIM letztlich funktioniert. Ich bleibe aber künftig lieber bei der Konkurrenz.

Be prepared to manually need to choose networks to get decent mobile data speeds in most countries. Service is extremely painful to contact and the app is buggy, making it difficult to disable auto renew.

I downloaded this app once when I went abroad, since then it takes £7 every week from my account. The app doesn’t load and the customer service is shocking they refuse to cancel the amount. Do not use unless you want to pay them £7 every month for absolutely nothing.

I just needed one day of data. Simple. But I received a double notification. Then again the next day! They changed the setting to be default auto renew!! So, I turned off auto renew. Then I was charged again the next day!! And the next!

All the while, I’m sending emails to their customer service email, but it bounces. I find an email for something remotely related on their website. Any way, after 2 months, multiple emails, I was finally able *most* charges reversed.

There are cheaper plans that won’t screw you. Stay away from them at all costs

$16 USD…..for Australian eSIM. Worst eSIM ever purchased - coverage non existent. Landed in Perth. Drove north and south west coast and barely any coverage. Flew from Perth to Adelaide and since have driven from Adelaide along South Coast and still I await any coverage. Frustratingly awful, dreadful & useless.

I downloaded the app and used their eSIM for a 10 day holiday. The eSIM defaults to autorenew which is very subtle in their checkout process (it should be opt in, not opt out). The app then almost immediately started crashing and nothing I can do (delete, reinstall etc) gets it to work. I am now getting charged monthly for an eSIM I used once while on holiday with no way to cancel it. All advertised TruPhone email accounts no longer work (ask@, csm@) and because the take the money neither as an Apple subscription nor a bank standing order/DD you cannot cancel it through you payment provider. This is a very clever con to extract as much money from people while they figure out how to delete their auto-renew subscription. Reported to Apple, and to my Bank!

What is the point of releasing an app and not testing if it works on all platforms? This app does not even load when opens. It stays stuck on the company logo screen forever and yet I’m running the latest app version and iOS version. Please sort it out.

Never worked, the technical service made me modify some parameters that don’t work. After one week they asked me to do the same modifications.
I spent hours to send screenshots, restart etc… to finally ask for a refund.  Almost 2 months with no answer and today they say that the case is closed.
I lost (lot of) time and money.
I tried other eSIM no one worked on my iPhone 13 Pro. 
Bought a physical sim that worked right away

I have purchase a plan to work in Canada and USA, however the data in the USA is not working. 

I have tried using it at multiple locations within the USA, although the signal is at full strength it does not load.

I have used this service in other countries with no issues…

I was using this app for 5 tears and it was working fine, unless a problem occurs. I have purchased a 30 day plan, but after 25 days it has dissapeared. Anothe issue was, when I tried to to migrate the eSIM following the official instruction, it did not work, and after re-installing the eSIM on older phone it has worked for a few hours and then it dissapeared. Reaching to the support is non-existing and after 2 days they close the case after no help, no refund or even apology. Please use other eSIM providers.

Quelques ajustements à faire dans les réglages et le tour est joué. Essentiellement il faut que les données à l’étranger soient activées pour le forfait secondaire relié à la esim Truphone. J’ai aussi l’impression que l’option « limiter le suivi » doit être à off lors de la première utilisation. Pour ma part, ca s’est mis à fonctionner dès que j’ai fermé et remis à on par la suite. L’application permet même d’essayer gratuitement avant d’acheter le forfait! J’ai acheté le forfait regional europe que j’ai utilisé en Italie, France, Espagne et Portugal et ca a fonctionné à merveille sur mon téléphone ainsi que sur celui de ma conjointe. De plus ca m’a semblé être une des applications la plus abordable quand j’ai comparé avec 2 autres.

I used this app for the third time now when i’m visiting a country abroad (US, Egypt). Everything works as a charm. I had a bit of connection issues but the customer service helped me on track in less then 2 hours and perfect connectivity afterwards. Also I had auto renewal switched on and they refunded me correctly without hesitation as it was a mistake. Great experience!

Wir haben für Kroatien sehr preiswerte 20 GB im lokalen Tarif für 28 €/30 Tage gebucht. Mit Rabatt von 10%. Der Datentarif hat 1 Tag lang in Porec funktioniert. Ab dem 2. Tag hatten wir kein Netz mehr. Mit Vodafone hatten wir 4G Netzabdeckung überall. Was auch immer hier schief läuft, es lässt mich nächstes Mal zu Airalo greifen.

Update: ein simpler Neustart war die Lösung! Und wieder Empfang 😊

While we were waiting a long time for a sim card, a person behind us in line at Athens airport told us about this eSim option. We tried TruePhone and it worked flawlessly!! Data worked well even in remote areas of Greece. Didn't need phone or local text. Great option!
