My Bin Reminder — Never miss a collection day again. Built by someone who has definitely dragged a bin out in pyjamas at 11pm, My Bin Reminder is the simplest way to stay on top of your household bin collections. What it does Add each of your bins once — name it, pick a colour to match your actual bin, set your next collection date and how often it repeats. My Bin Reminder does the rest, sending you a reminder the evening before so you can put the bin out at a sensible time, and an optional morning nudge on collection day itself in case you missed it. At a glance The home screen shows your next upcoming collection front and centre, with all your bins listed below sorted by how soon they're due. Urgency indicators make it obvious at a glance which bins need your attention this week. Widgets Add a small or medium widget to your home screen and you'll never need to open the app at all on most days. The small widget shows your next bin and when it's due. The medium widget shows the next collection plus your upcoming schedule — everything you need at a glance. Two reminders, your way Set an evening reminder — the night before each collection — at whatever time suits you. Enable the morning reminder too for an extra nudge on the day itself. Both are completely configurable. Built for any household, anywhere My Bin Reminder works with whatever collection schedule your local council or waste service uses. Weekly, fortnightly, every four weeks, every eight weeks — common frequencies are one tap to select. Need something different? A custom interval option covers any schedule, no matter how your local collection service works. Share with your household Use the import and export feature to share your bin schedule with anyone else in the house. Send via AirDrop, email, or Messages — they import it in one tap and they're set up instantly. Colour-coded everything Each bin gets its own colour — the same colour appears on the home screen list, in the widget, and in the next-collection card. No reading required to know which bin goes out when. Holiday-proof scheduling Councils love rearranging collections over Christmas and New Year. My Bin Reminder handles it — swipe right on any bin to skip a collection that isn't happening, or add a one-off extra date when your council throws in a bonus collection. Your regular schedule stays intact, the overrides reset automatically once the date passes, and you'll never drag a bin out unnecessarily on Christmas morning again. My Bin Reminder is part of the Stephen Foster Apps suite, built by an independent developer who makes the apps he actually needs. ## Version history (last 4 releases) ### 1.3 — 2026-07-29 Holiday schedules — no more Christmas bin confusion. Every year, councils shuffle their collection dates over the Christmas and New Year period — skipping some weeks, adding extra collections before the big day, and generally making it impossible to know what goes out when. This update tackles it head on. Skip next collection — if your council is skipping a collection, swipe right on that bin and tap Skip. The date is crossed out, the schedule advances to the following cycle, and you'll get a notification saying "No collection this week" instead of a reminder to drag the bin out for nothing. Add a one-off extra collection — some councils add an extra recycling or garden waste collection in the run-up to Christmas. Swipe right, tap Extra Date, pick the date from the calendar, and you're done. Your regular schedule is completely unchanged — this is a one-off on top. Both features show clearly in the bin list so you always know what's been adjusted, and a banner reminds you that a holiday schedule is active. Morning reminders — as well as the evening-before notification, you can now set a morning reminder on collection day itself. Useful if you missed the night before or just want an extra nudge.
