## What is myAtlas Birds?

MyAtlas Birds lets you organize and track your bird observations through an interactive map and you can set the names of the species to 43 languages. Each sighting is marked with the species’ image at the exact location, and tapping on it reveals detailed information, including weather conditions at the time of the observation.

The app also features your lifelist that automatically logs all your recorded species. In the Taxonomy Tree can explore the complete taxonomy of birds, covering 11,032 extant and 162 extinct species. This feature provides an overview of the orders, families, and genera you’ve encountered, along with insights into how many species each category includes.

### 1.2 — 2026-04-22

In V1.2 we've added:
- The specie screen where you can find basic information and the observations you have made for the species. All the species have the basic information.
- The app can be used from a guest mode, so you don't have to make an account anymore. However, in the guest mode your observations are only stored on your device and so not safely on the cloud.
- You can now not only set one of the 43 languages, but also set a primary and several secondary languages. Searching in the Lifelist, Taxonomy Tree or when adding an observation is all supported for the primary and secondary languages. In the observation screen and the specie screen you can find the translation button!
- A new lock button when adding observations that saves the location, date and time for when you're adding several observations in a row from before.
- Lifelist can now be filtered for seen and heard species.
- Lifelist and Taxonomy Tree are searchable.
- Missing bird images are automatically reported.

Specie names now in 43 languages!
In the settings you can select one of the 43 different languages. Everywhere on the app the names will be displayed in your set language.

Filter on years and tags!

Improvements: Fixed the bug of being signed out and crashing after selecting bird specie when adding an observation.
