MyChart Bedside is your portal for engaging with your care while admitted to the hospital. Empower yourself and your family with access to your care team, clinical data, and health education. MyChart Bedside uses your hospital’s medical record system to securely show you information, so check with your care team to see if the system supports it. Access MyChart Bedside in two ways: • Bedside in MyChart Mobile: use the MyChart app to access many Bedside features from your personal iPhone or iPad. • Bedside for tablet: give yourself the complete Bedside experience on an iPad, including features for contributing documentation and communicating with the care team. This application requires a hospital-provided or personal iPad. In both Bedside for tablet and Bedside in MyChart Mobile, you can see: • The treatment team with bios and role descriptions for each person. • Patient education. • Inpatient medications and lab results. • Hospital health issues. • Your patient schedule, including medication times, nursing tasks, surgeries, and more. • Inpatient questionnaires. • Dining menus and ordering options. • Inpatient video visits using Epic video visits. • Your hospital’s apps, websites, and other integrated content. • E-signature forms. The monitor shows the patient’s care team’s photos and names along with the patient’s emergency contact info, and the barcode, among other things. I scanned the barcode while the VPN was on and when the VPN was off (if you use the VPN’s "Kill Switch" make sure it is off). Each time, it said it was unable to connect. [iPad app review] ### 1/5 — Useless *2016-05-10* I wish this worked like the iPhone app, which doesn't rely on a barcode scan. Here are the problems with the iPad app: A) - There's no way to set this up from home. You must rely on hospital admission. B) - The barcode on admission bracelets are invalid for this app. C) - NO STAFF in the hospital which use the Epic system can understand how this works. NOT ONE. From the nurses, doctors, or admission staff. I use one of the best hospitals in the country, and they are clueless as to this app or its existence. Only the iPhone app is known, so no one can help. It is all-in-all a useless app. It disappoints me Epic. ### 1/5 — Won't scan *2016-03-24* Won't scan the barcode. Interesting idea if it worked. ### 2/5 — Very good idea , but . . . *2015-12-31* As an inpatient in the hospital, I got a lovely trifold brochure promoting the app. All I need to do is have a staff member scan the barcode. It appears that no one has trained the staff - they don't have the foggiest idea how to activate the app. Too bad since I'd like to see my test results. ### 1/5 — Useless *2015-12-07* This app is useless because it requires scanning a barcode to activate it, at the medical care provider. I don't have time to drive to the provider just to scan a barcode and I am already registered on the website.
