It only ever loads up half the time. If you are lucky enough for it to open it rarely ever shows the routes. This has costed me so much time of my life that I can not get back. Even with real time tracking, the buses will often disappear from the map and never show up. The bus drivers themselves will tell you- the schedules *and even the routes!* it shows are not at all accurate. The one useful feature is being able to see where the bus actually is in more or less real time. I really don’t understand why someone doesn’t just fix the programmed schedules to match the actual ones. My advice- get the brochures with the actual schedules for the routes you want to use and just use the app for the location piece… ### 1/5 — Be ready to hurry up and wait *2021-10-05* The timing on this app is wildly inaccurate. I’ll be getting ready for school and keeping an eye on it, it’ll say all morning the bus is due to arrive around 8:25. I’ll plan on getting to the bus stop at 8:15. At 8:13 I’ll be walking out the door and see the bus driving away. Other times, I’ll go rushing out the door because it says the bus will arrive in 3 minutes. By the time I get to the bus stop, the app says that 3 minutes is now 7 minutes which turns into 10 minutes. So then I’m waiting outside often in the heat or in the cold wind or rain with no bus shelter to stand under. I get that things happen which can affect when the bus arrives but this app needs a serious overhaul. ### 1/5 — Awful time reporting and tracking *2021-09-03, version 1.0* why tell me a bus will be at the stop i’m at in 5 minutes just for it to actually take 35 minutes to get there ### 1/5 — Very inconsistent and buggy *2020-11-20, version 1.0* App is usually inaccurate for bus delays and sometimes won’t even display times at all. I’ve gotten lost countless times; stranded sometimes. It says routes and closed when they aren’t, says routes are opened when they aren’t, doesn’t have the correct items listed, & the bus drivers are so rude. This company is garbage! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — horrible app *2026-03-10, version 1.1* the app won’t tell you if the driver will be taking a break, so you might wait at your stop for 20 minutes waiting for the bus to come even though it still says it’s 2 minutes away ### 1/5 — Drivers sometimes don’t wait. *2025-10-29* Drivers sometimes don’t wait till the set departure time, I’ve literally seen the bus leave 5min to the set departure time just because another citybus was parked at the bus stop, guess what? That was extra 30min wait time for me. Also, the bus closes too early and I believe this should have been effectively communicated to users who are used to using a bus that closes at 9 not closes at 7pm. Not fair ### 1/5 — I hate this app *2025-09-16* HORRIBLE. Horrible. It somehow always crashes when you need it and you simply can’t see when/where the buses are. Not reliable at all, don’t plan anything around the buses. Super frustrating. When it works it’s fine, but a bus app that works half the time is not great. There is no back arrow, you have to close and reopen the app. Also, there is construction which changes some routes. If you just look at the route, it knows about this. I love it to death its perfect for public transport. But for some reason when I open the app now it is just blank. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app several times, and it still doesn’t work … \_{-.-_/ please fix it if you can? No the city bus app does not use gps tracking to show you where the buses are in real time. Instead a simple schedule for when the bus should arrive and any given stop along the route is given. The tracking is close to accurate, gives you a lot of good options for planning trips etc and lets you view the upcoming arrival times by bus or by stop. However, my app went totally white last week and has yet to return. I have deleted and reinstalled the app 3 times now with no luck. So I guess I can no longer use it which is really unfortunate.
