### 2/5 — No longer the app we enjoyed

*2026-01-19, version 4.1.7*

I used to really enjoy using the app & found it really beneficial for being able to mix up my training styles & so did my partner but I feel like in the last year the focus around the app & the marketing seems/makes it look like it’s for women’s fitness only which has made us move to different platforms.

### 2/5 — Great until now

*2025-11-24, version 3.1.4*

Currently enrolled on the Hyrox beginner program through the app.

Everything was great until now, for some reason the app will not let me view any day that I have a run session on. I can’t even view a run session I have completed.

It is only the run days that are affected.

Please can this be looked at

I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to fix this.

I have already deleted the app and signed back and still no change.

### 2/5 — Overpriced and not great

*2025-08-04, version 3.1.4*

I was really excited to use this for my first hyrox, as someone who’s trained for a long time I wouldn’t recommend this. Some of the workouts repeat exercises or use the same video for 2 exercises. There’s typos in the wording.

When I signed up it didn’t have anything regarding auto renew which then renewed without my knowledge. Wasted money

### 3/5 — Disappointing

*2025-01-08, version 3.1.4*

I’ve used many fitness apps developed by fitness influencers before and they’ve all delivered on what they promised as best they could. I was drawn to this app because I follow Lucy Davis and wanted a structured Hyrox programme. The app’s selling point is that it functions as if having a personal trainer/ coach in your pocket. However, this is not the case. The programmes are quite rigid, in that for example, it cannot be customized to cater for how many days a week you are able to train. In fact, some programmes have two training sessions in a day. This is not explained in the overall description of the programme, as well as the equipment and skill level required. These sessions will work for a full time influencer but not for someone that’s not in this space but would still like to train hard. The functionality of the app itself is also disappointing. The names of the exercises don’t match the video demonstrations, for example, the exercise name is Pendlay row but the video shows a barbell bentover row - not the same thing. Or split squats but video shows Bulgarian split squats and later on in the same workout it states split squats and the video shows an actual static split squat. The exercises don’t have any alternatives, so if you are unable to perform the exact exercise you must think of alternatives yourself- other apps provide alternatives. The description of the exercises are non existent, other than a short video showing the exercise. It does not “coach” you, in terms of form, whether to go heavy or lighter based on the reps, what to focus on etc. Most apps provide all of this. Overall even though it seems like it has it all, it does not deliver on what it promises and lacks basic functionality. Also, no readily available support.

### 2/5 — It has potential

*2024-11-11, version 3.1.4*

It’s good, but it’s needs improvements. It has a section for “Previous” but I’m on week 3 of this app and the previous is never filling in making progressive overload limiting.

I would like to have seen a summary after each workout. For example, total volume, where you PB’d versus last week etc. it just sorta ends on the final workout. No total time, no calories burned, anything really.

I emailed the customer support team, they are not replying to fix the previous weight log. Messaged on instagram, they just said email this address… like guys? I’m paying you £90, fix the app? Such a simple thing to fix and for a 12 week plan, progressive overload is absolutely key here.

### 2/5 — Unreliable app

*2024-09-22, version 3.1.4*

I have been doing the hyrox level up plan for around 8 weeks, and the plan is okay. The exercises change up and vary a lot each week. Some of the workouts are also unrealistic to do in a normal gym, such as a hip thrust being in a EMOM circuit session when you have to be between lots of different areas of the gym it just doesn’t work. It would be good if for each exercise an alternative option was given e.g if your gym doesn’t have a sled pull or push or if the leg press is busy.

It would also be good if it actually tracked each run and paced you through the run like the Runa app.

The app is also unreliable. It constantly kicks me out, or if I am trying to re arrange the schedule for the following week it will kick me back to the week I’m in. A few days ago I was kicked out and it still hasn’t let me back in and is saying the user doesn’t exist - even though I pay £40 a month for the app. Yet when I try and make a new account it says my email is already in use - so I am currently paying for an app that I can’t use. I’m hoping this gets fixed soon otherwise I will have to cancel my subscription, which is a shame as for the most part I enjoy the workouts.

### 2/5 — App is fine, but no cancellation flow

*2024-04-22, version 3.0.3*

The app itself is fine, a bit buggy in places and not quite as functional as describe (eg. You cannot move the workouts around during the week as it just bugs out), but that’s to be expected from a young app. The workouts are fine, bit repetitive and change up to frequently for my liking. There is also no “hyrox” section in the learning centre as referenced in every hyrox video.

The really bad sticking point for me is the subscription cancellation process is terrible. I signed up by downloading the app and registering that way. Within the app to cancel it just says “you can do that through your Apple Store” but as I didn’t sign up for the subscription via Apple, I cannot. When I looked on their website, there are no links for support/help or anything for cancellation, so I had to message them on Instagram. I cancelled via the link they sent and immediately lost access to the premium subscription that I’ve paid for until this month already, and I’m now waiting on an email response for that to be reinstated. You cannot have a subscription platform, with no way of cancelling, that’s just terrible customer service.

### 2/5 — Very Overpriced

*2024-03-18, version 2.2.4*

Not impressed with this app and think there are far better for the price (runna if running is your main goal and beyond for weight training: a third of the price for far less repetitive plans which are actually tailored to your goals rather than pre set like MCS.) The workouts are virtually identical each week of the programme which gets boring and repetitive and doesn’t factor in progressive overload, there is barely any change in rep range week to week. Not a huge number of recipes on the app and the ones on there aren’t my cup of tea, haven’t used one. There is no way to change workout days round or skip or go back a week. I used the Black Friday offer and am now tied into a further 3 months at £90 which I won’t use and can’t cancel. Wouldn’t recommend, there are way better fitness apps out there which are a lot more affordable.

### 4/5 — Love this app!

*2024-02-05, version 2.2.4*

I’ve been a part of the MCS community since back in their website-only days and absolutely love all the upgrades including the app! Only reason I knocked a star off is because it can be a little slow to use but all the plans are amazing and it’s so great in the community to know you have others + Ben and Lucy to support and hype you up🤩

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2023-07-13, version 2.1.3*

This app is brilliant, the difference between MyCoach and other fitness apps is the knowledge and time that's put into this app, Lucy & Ben take so much time to explain things and the Facebook page is a real community which is really motivating!

### 5/5 — Fantastic Fitness App

*2023-07-07, version 2.1.3*

I tried a couple of other apps before using this one and this app stands head and shoulders above the others. For me it’s the excellent exercises that are fully explained, the great programmes that you can follow and know what you are doing on a week by week basis and the fact that I went from not being able to run to doing 8k in as little as 4 weeks using the Build and Run program.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Repeated Programming, Spelling Mistakes and Membership Revoked as soon as you cancel

*2026-03-04, version 4.2.4*

I have prepaid for my membership for 3 months at a time and, due to the repeated programming and workouts, have decided to cancel my membership this quarter and move to a different provider after my membership expired. Not only did the team take 4 weeks to action my membership cancellation request, (and only did so after multiple chasers via email and Instagram) but after they did I lost access to the app entirely; missing out on the remaining 3 weeks of my pre-paid membership.

If you’re looking at downloading this app, I honestly would not bother. The customer service has been pretty poor, if not non-existent.

### 1/5 — Programs not working

*2026-03-03, version 4.2.4*

Been using this app for over a year & always loved it. These last 12 weeks the program
Hasn’t been updating properly. Currently at week 9
Of half marathon plan but the leg session is stuck on week 2 building phase. It’s awful & can’t seem to raise issue anywhere

### 1/5 — A Lucy fan but not worth it

*2026-01-05, version 4.0.5*

I downloaded app excited but not worth it! You basically have to pay the best membership just to even see anything good on the app. So many more app for fraction of the price that work perfectly. I cancelled the membership right away. Should have looked into it first or done the free 7 day trial. I wish there was a way to get my money back.

### 1/5 — Influencer Cash Grab

*2025-12-08, version 3.1.4*

You will pay for things and never receive them even after chasing it down and messaging the community. CONSTANT issues with program that the creators are always going in to the app to “improve.” This app is not maintained and is clearly a cash grab for the influencer that released it. They’ve gone on to build a brand and clearly no longer care for this app but people are wasting their time and money. DO NOT DOWNLOAD

### 1/5 — Average fitness app

*2025-12-07, version 3.1.4*

I’ve been contemplating downloading this app for a while, especially since the busy girl guide came out. I got this with the Black Friday half price offer (£45 for 3 months) and honestly, it’s not worth even the discounted cost. I originally thought I must have downloaded an old version of the app as it just doesn’t look great. But when I came to use the guides, I found out that there’s nothing tailored about the plans depending on who you are, how you’re progressing etc. Honestly you’d find the same kind of plan on YouTube or TikTok for free. If you’re an absolute beginner to fitness, it will probably be helpful as they explain the movements needed, but if you know a little bit about what you’re doing, you’re best finding another app/coach as there is no way of coaching on this app

### 1/5 — Flaws with no correction

*2025-11-01, version 3.1.4*

I am a Lucy FAN and was so excited about her programs as I’m training for Hyrox and my first marathon. I noticed errors right away within the app but didn’t find them to be too disruptive. However I am 8 weeks and realizing that these errors make it so you can’t even tell what you’re supposed to do for the workout. One section says running and one says biking? I had posted on their community page reaching out to see if others had this issue. MANY reported that they reached out to the team about the errors and still no fix. After a day of being up they deleted my post. So I would recommend finding an alternative app. It’s such a bummer because I do love what Lucy stands for and the app has potential but if you don’t listen to your consumers what do you really stand for?

### 1/5 — Cancellation nightmare

*2024-05-28, version 3.1.0*

Horrible customer service. My subscription kept rolling over every 3 months despite being in contact with the team multiple times to cancel my subscription.
Cancellation has been extremely difficult and I am still having to email them to tell them, once again, to stop taking my money. I have reverted to contacting my bank to dispute the payment taken as the team refused to be of any assistance.

### 1/5 — No assistance or service

*2023-12-16, version 2.2.4*

I was keen on using this app and wanted to purchase their VIP plan over Black Friday as I’ve been a fan of Lucy Davis and wanted to try her app. I reached out through Instagram as I couldn’t purchase it at all through the landing page. Got one half response and no further assistance. I still went ahead and signed up online for the free plan, but the web app is completely broken and most buttons don’t work. Finally found the app on the App Store and looking at the workouts made me doubt its worth it. I honestly expected more service and help and was deeply disappointed by this team.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2023-10-22, version 2.2.3*

What a horrible app. I’ve submitted to be part of the challenge like 5 times and it keeps take me to the same page.
Hopefully I didn’t just pay 20 euro for a POS app

### 1/5 — “Free” Trial was not free

*2022-08-15, version 1.2.5*

I gave this app a try under the impression that the 14-day free trial would have been honored. This was not the case, I was charged and when I tried to get reimbursed since I’m still in my trial period, their reply was “We can only offer refunds, when it meets our T&C's, we offer a strict policy on this to keep a level of fairness across all members.” What??? How about false advertisement when you claimed to offer a free 14day trial??

Besides the misleading “free” trial - I tried the app for a couple days and was NOT satisfied either. I didn’t not find it user friendly and was actually looking for a more comprehensive nutrition section.

Please don’t advertise your free trial when you will not honor its terms. Very disappointing, shame on you!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing app!

*2025-12-19, version 4.0.5*

This app is brilliant for hybrid training, I’ve been using it to train for my Hyrox doubles and solos and it’s been great! New version has just launched! Tracking is so easy and seamless as well as lots of educational stuff and yummy recipes!

### 5/5 — LOVEEEE THE APP

*2025-12-19, version 4.0.5*

I’ve been using the MyCoach app for my Hyrox training and it’s been incredible. My overall fitness and strength has improved so much and the programmes really help me to stay on track with my training.

### 5/5 — Best fitness app I've used, hands down

*2025-12-05, version 3.1.4*

I've been using MyCoach for a couple of months now and honestly, it's transformed my fitness routine. The workout videos are fantastic – being able to watch them during rest periods has made such a difference to getting my form spot on.

Ben and Lucy are absolutely class. They explain everything in a way that's easy to understand, no confusing jargon, just proper straightforward guidance. It genuinely feels like having a personal trainer in your pocket.

The 12-week challenges are brilliant for keeping me on track. I love the progress tracking features too – being able to upload photos and track different metrics keeps me motivated and excited to see how far I've come.

The app flows beautifully, everything's intuitive and easy to navigate. I can find exactly what I need without any faff. Loading times are quick and the whole experience just feels polished.

Honestly, the membership is worth every penny. When you think about what you'd pay for actual PT sessions, this is incredible value for the quality of coaching you get.

It's the first fitness app I've genuinely stuck with and looked forward to using. If you're serious about getting fitter and want proper support, I can't recommend MyCoach enough. Absolutely love it!

### 5/5 — Just so good

*2025-04-22, version 3.1.4*

I’ve been training with the MyCoach App for over 18 months now, I’ve found all of the workouts so well organised, they progress well every single week, and I’ve actually been losing weight with the macro plan that was made for me. Thanks so much guys

### 5/5 — I didn’t want to like it, but I love it

*2024-10-16, version 3.1.4*

I was hesitant in purchasing the membership on this app as it’s yet another cost. However when I tell you it’s worth every penny!

I got the app as I was looking for a hyrox training program which feels user friendly. This has been the perfect solution as it makes it’s so easy to keep track of every workout. It has video tutorials which is so helpful for someone like me who isn’t the most confident in the gym. Furthermore it exposes me to machines and work outs I would never attempt on my own.

Cannot recommend it enough.

### 5/5 — Top Rated App

*2024-07-24, version 3.1.2*

Honestly, everything you need on this app. I myself is a Personal Trainer and this caters for all General Population. User friendly, amazing all rounder workouts. I will definitely recommend

### 5/5 — INCREDIBLE APP

*2024-07-17, version 3.1.2*

MyCoach has thought of EVERYTHING! I was hesitant to write the word “app” in the title because it is so much more than that; it is a family, it is a community, it is a PT all in one 🙌🏼 I joined 1 year ago and have since ran my second marathon, am training for my first ultra and am feeling stronger than I ever have 💪🏼 The video explanations are so supportive when trying new exercises so you less likely to get injured, and the nutrition section teaches you how to fuel your sessions properly. Weekly check-ins keep you accountable on your journey, and I cannot think of anything quite like it ✨

### 5/5 — PT in your Pocket

*2024-07-07, version 3.1.2*

This app does what it says it’s going to do. It literally is a PT in our pockets with a variety of training styles. It offers the accountability and an amazing community with members across the world. It’s only getting better with each update! 🫶🏻

### 5/5 — Best training app

*2024-01-09, version 2.2.4*

For a training app and programme, my coach seems to be best value for money compared to other alternatives on the market. You have so many different courses to choose from, ability to track your progress as well as other features.

### 5/5 — Easy to use and great workout

*2024-01-03, version 2.2.4*

I love how easy it is to choose a program. You can also move around your workouts during the week. User friendly.
