Fix this, please? ### 2/5 — Very glitchy *2026-07-17, version 5.4.0* I downloaded this app and it won’t even open. Please fix this. The app is more convenient than the website. ### 4/5 — It crashes for me *2026-06-14, version 5.4.0* It might just be my phone but every time I tap on the app it crashes immediately. I tried deleting and re-downloading and it still crashes. Great app tho <3 ### 3/5 — Forever *2026-04-10, version 5.3.0* I appreciate the new update a little while back in the app and what it does to encourage daily prayer for the children and then facilitating monthly letters to them, but the auto login process to get to the daily prayer takes far too long. It feels like dial up did back in the day…like I can feel myself aging while I wait for it to load. Please improve this login speed, because gahhhhh. ### 4/5 — Good, has it’s issues *2026-01-21, version 5.2.5* I love that it makes it quicker/easier to connect with the children. However, letter drafts rarely save right, so unless you write and submit all at once it will be lost. Also, Letter button is glitchy. First time you click nothing will show up, but second time it will work. Also really important to note!! The app will automatically give you the text from your child in your language. But I wasn’t even clicking the button to see their original letter, and missed some very sweet drawings I was sent! So be aware to look at both. Please make these changes, because everything else is amazing :) ### 2/5 — New App Update Isn't Helpful *2025-11-09, version 5.2.3* Wow, I'm not sure why all the changes were made. The old app was awesome.. I could see when I wrote my Comapssion child last, when I gave last, I could see all the letters written back and forth. **This new app update is so hard to navigate. I couldn't find any of our letters--it seems like they weren't saved. I couldn't easily find info on our child. The old app home page was the best--you could see your Compassion child, a map of where they live, their school info, the last time you gave or wrote. If the app stays as is, I'll have to use the website instead, and in fact that's what I did today in order to write my child. **I politely and vehemently ask the app designers to go back to what you had before. ### 2/5 — Must Buy a New Phone To Use *2025-10-30, version 3.9.45* I’m sure the developers are as horrified as the Apple people are that my phone won’t update past iOS 15-whatever yet I keep using it. And I’m grateful that Compassion made the app unusable for people like me at a slower rate than the grocery store. I guess it’s hand-written or web page letters for me. ### 3/5 — App upgrade fail *2025-07-25* The app upgrade takes forever to login, even with FaceID…too long. **Developer response:** We’re so sorry for the frustration you’ve experienced with the recent updates. We understand how important it is to have a smooth and reliable experience, especially when it comes to staying connected with your sponsored child. Regarding the login issue: our goal is to protect your personal and financial information while still making the app convenient to use. We know it’s not ideal to enter your credentials every time, and we’re actively working on improvements. In the meantime, enabling FaceID or TouchID on your device can help streamline the login process. You can do this by: 1. Making sure FaceID/TouchID is enabled in your device settings. 2. Ensuring the MyCompassion app is allowed to use biometrics. 3. Following Apple’s support articles if you need help setting this up. We have also made updates to the app, please update to the most recent version for the best experience. ### 4/5 — Missing one thing *2025-07-10, version 5.2.1* I haven’t had any issues with log ins or letter writing and the like. I do like this app quite a bit. My only request is to bring back the notification when your child writes to you. I’m sometimes several weeks late reading and responding because there’s no flag on the app icon (yes notifications are “on” for the app) ### 4/5 — New app is terrible - Issues are better *2025-06-03, version 5.1.1* can we please have the old app back? It was so nice because it immediately pulled up my sponsored child’s information and getting to the point where I could pray the daily prayer was just one click. Now I’m having all kinds of issues logging in. It has lost my child’s information in the app and I’ve had to delete and reinstall the app. Please just bring back the old app. Edit: I still prefer the old app, but the issues above have been fixed and now clicking on my daily prayer notification takes me straight to the prayer page. ### 2/5 — Write a letter to my sponsored child *2025-05-23, version 5.1.1* I have liked the convenience of using this app to write letters/cards. Today, my letter was gone by the time I clicked through to the review step. I had added pictures and they were still there but no text. I retyped the letter thinking that I had not saved it while working on adding the pictures. Again, no text in the body of the letter. I will now write a handwritten letter and get it to our sponsored child. ### 2/5 — Missing the mark *2025-05-05, version 5.1.1* The intention behind this app is amazing. The purpose God sent. The follow-through is severely lacking. The app will not allow me to send correspondence for days, weeks, even. I guess it would be more efficient for me to actually mail out handwritten letters to my sponsored child because it will not present all the written text I enter in the message, there are times it just gets stuck and will not advance to the next screen. It took a while for it to even update to reflect my new sponsored child to begin with. As a result, my sponsored child is not getting as many letters as I would like to have sent. Please fix this, immediately. ### 2/5 — Where did my letter go? *2025-04-30, version 5.1.1* I just wrote out a nice letter, it showed that the draft saved, but then later shows an incomplete first sentence. Not cool! ### 3/5 — Newest update not great *2025-02-27, version 5.0.1* Not crazy about the latest updates. I now have to log in each time I open the app. It does not save my info. When I click on child letters, only the last 5 show up. It either force closes itself, or says there’s an error, please try again. I hope this can get fixed soon! I've tried to write both a long letter and a short letter in each time. It tells me that I haven't selected a template… However I have each time. So I'm not able to write my child. I also want to send them gifts and every time I click on to send a gift it says what kind of gift do you want to send? And it just sits there without giving me an option of what to do. Please fix the app so we can use it for the intended purposes. ### 1/5 — Where is home page with sponsored children? *2025-07-19, version 5.2.1* I am very disappointed in the “new” Compassion International app which features tiny icon photos of my sponsored children with multiple marketing articles requesting more financial commitments and no means of alerting me when I have received a letter from one of my sponsored children. I am grateful for Compassion International’s work and I receive tons of emails and postal mail asking for more money. Please remove this marketing from my home page and allow me to view the children I am sponsoring in photos that do not require a magnifying glass! If there is a way to return to the previous version of the app I want it instead. ### 1/5 — “Christian”? *2025-07-17, version 5.2.1* Over $5 million of the money raised goes to 17 people within the organization. The top execs take about $500k while the children receive $30/month. Does someone need $500k to free other people, namely children, from poverty? Does that sound like Jesus or like the world? When I work at a Compassion event, the old app was an integral part of promoting sponsorships. People could see how easy it is (was) to write and receive letters from their children, see all their information, and send support. Put the children first again!! If I wanted to see Compassion propaganda, I could go to your website.
