About
As most of us learn over time: weight management is a recurring task throughout life. MyDayrate™ is designed for people who know what this is really about, whether your goal is weight loss, maintenance, or gain.
This is how it works:
* Log your weight daily. Your weight trend is the most important indicator.
* Count and log calories only during periods when you are not satisfied with your weight trend. It builds awareness. You learn. You adjust.
* MyDayrate is your personal daily energy balance. It varies with your activity level. Eat less than MyDayrate and you tend to lose weight. Eat more and you tend to gain.
* For weight loss: The app is built around the principle of eating less on regular days and treating yourself a little extra on the number of PlusDays you choose.
* For weight gain: The MyRemaining number will guide you.
* Graphs help you keep track.
• Many people with experience in weight management already know what is healthy and unhealthy. MyDayrate provides basic, evidence-based guidance without judgment.
* Works with or without health app integration.
For many users, the MyDayrate app becomes a calm landing place after years of diets, quick fixes, and everyday calorie counting that eventually becomes too demanding.
Choose between kcal/kJ and metric/imperial. English and Norwegian editions.
Works nicely with or without health app integration/sync (weight, energy expenditure, and energy intake).
WEIGHT CONTROL FOR BETTER HEALTH
MyDayrate is not about perfection or strict rules, but about understanding your body through awareness and realistic habits. The people behind the app need it too.
• Eat the right amount to maintain your weight: Your MyDayrate value shows how much energy you can consume each day without changing your weight. Weight trends over several days matter more than any single day, because temporary changes can affect your weight.
• Lose or gain weight: Track calories only during periods when you want to lose or gain weight! The MyRemaining number shows how much energy you still have available. If you consistently avoid consuming your MyRemaining amount, your weight will gradually trend downward. If MyRemaining is negative, you have eaten more than your daily requirement — which is actually correct if your goal is to gain weight!
• Learn about energy content and awareness through calorie logging: Calorie logging itself increases awareness. Our Blue Helper™ and search tool help simplify energy logging while also teaching you about the energy content of different types of food. Logging is easy — but not too easy. The reason is that we have personally experienced how surprisingly useful active learning about the energy content of food and drinks can be.
• Foods that keep you full: In a simple and structured way, the Blue Helper™ logging tool shows energy content and expected impact on satiety and blood sugar across eight food groups. If you want to lose weight, choose foods with low energy density that keep you full. If you want to gain weight, you can enjoy more healthy foods with high energy density.
• Graphs for weight trends and MyRemaining: If you do not synchronize health data, the graphs in MyDayrate will look fairly boring during the first days. Over time, however, you will gain many ways to monitor your weight development closely. The MyRemaining graph shows whether you have eaten less than MyDayrate (for weight loss) or more (for weight gain).
LESSONS FROM LIFE
We can only speak for ourselves here: the human minds of the people behind MyDayrate are not always trustworthy companions. We often fool ourselves around food. We underestimate portions, forget snacks and oils, overestimate the effect of exercise, and take “just one more piece” when we probably shouldn’t. Calm, honest logging in MyDayrate helps bring reality back into the picture.
